Modern and lightweight version of existing Maxis blockers like @DuskTrooper's Block ALL Maxis Buildings and BSC No Maxis, based on @Null 45's Exemplar Patching. The blockers prevent Maxis RCI lots from growing, by setting the minimum slope angle to an impossible value. The upload contains separate blockers per zone and wealth type. Simply place the ones you want to use somewhere in your Plugins folder, because for exemplar patches the loading order doesn't matter. The only dependency: Resource Loading Hooks DLL Credits/thanks to @Null 45, @memo, @wouanagaineand @ilive (and Claude, lol). I wouldn't have been able to parse the SimCity_1.dat DBPF without their example code. My first upload! -
So I have this Traffic Blocker Set (cars, buses, and freight) for many years now. The mod works except that the texture tiles for traffic street blocker (including SAM) seem to appear like that of a pedmall. I'm pretty sure I have all its required dependencies. What am I missing?

Can Maxis buildings be blocked completely?
Mayor Failure posted a topic in SC4 Modding - Open Discussion
DISCLAIMER: I am a total noob with no idea what I'm doing, but boy do I like to tinker. I would like to know is there a way to block Maxis buildings entirely from the game. I know there are some blockers in existence, I have one from DT and one from BSC team. From what I see in reader, one achieves this by removing tilesets (CHI, NY, HOU, EUR) from exemplar while other does it by setting growth stage to 255. I don't doubt they both prevent buildings from growing however those are still accesible by extracheats buildingplop, plopallbuildings, plopalllots.... I would like to filter custom content also by checking it in game (with specialized plugins folder for that purpose) without the need to search for it in a long list cointaining original maxis stuff. So I would need a way to effectively not recognize them as a building (probably). I noticed that plopalllots will plop also airports etc while plopallbuildings will not, so maybe I could achieve this by changing certain property? Considering first sentence I might be trying to bite more than I can chew or tackling the problem from wrong angle but asking around can't hurt... -

This mod stems from the discussion in my Pedriana Plants Killer Modd - Buggy Water Zots? topic. I discovered that while the Pedriana Plants Killer Modd does prevent new ones from growing it has two side effects not mentioned. Namely, because the 5 base lots it blocks are set to either stage 15 or stage 255 this prevents those lots being used by other farms as well. Also, as @twalsh102 discovered in the aforementioned thread this also causes them to be above the stage 3 cap for requiring water. So, existing Pedriana's Plants that were already grown and doing fine will then need a water connection with that mod installed. I went a completely different route and simply extracted the single building exemplar and changed the OccupantGroups to 0x00001006 (Building:Park) such that it will no longer grow, but also there are no ill side effects to the existing ones in the game. Staff Edit 1/3/2020: Added Agricultural to the file descriptor for ease of search. -CF. -

INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION MOD Expansion Blocker 1 - INTRODUCTION / OVERVIEW If you use the IRM Base Pack and some IRM W2W stuff, you probably have the blockers you need to switch back and forth between regular IRM and wall-to-wall industry. What about new regular (non-W2W) uploads, though? This little blocker file ensures that you will also be able to block future IRM (non-W2W) lots. This current version 1.0 supports all of the upcoming IRM industry files that I am about to upload shortly. If you don't use IRM W2W anyway, this file is irrelevant for you. It is only needed to make a complete switch between W2W and non-W2W for those who would like to use both. Future IRM uploads will have a link to this blocker file, and as soon as you need a new version, I will inform you in the download description. This shouldn't be so soon, however, since I have a nice stash of uploads up my sleeve (little hint: it's no longer a two-digit figure!). By the way, the screenshot doubles as a little teaser and shows a teeny-tiny fraction of what's in the release queue. 2 - USE Simply add this to your plugins folder if you play with the upcoming IRM custom lots, but want to have the option of switching back to IRM W2W lots by blocking all non-W2W stuff. When you want non-W2W IRM lots to grow again, simply move this little DAT file out of your plugins again. When this file is updated to a more recent version, simply overwrite the existing file with the new version. This blocker will grow and encompass more and more custom lots. It should exist only once in your plugins folder. You will see in the description (and in the HTML readme) of upcoming (non-W2W) IRM downloads which version of this file you'll need so you know when to check for an update. The file should extract to the path IRM\z_IRM Lot Blockers, so you can extract it to your root plugins folder. If you have the IRM Base pack installed (and you should if this blocker is to make any sense), then this folder should exist already. 3 - DEPENDENCIES Since this file is just a blocker and doesn't add any new content to your game, it doesn't really require dependencies. However, it is designed to be used with regular IRM and IRM W2W stuff. You can find the IRM (and read more about it) here. The IRM W2W Base Pack can be found here. For more individual IRM content, just use the "Find their other files" option right on this screen - or click the link in this line. You will find links to optional complementary downloads in the descriptions of the IRM and the IRM W2W Base pack. 4 - FINAL WORDS Thanks for your continued support and for all the positive input concerning my little IRM endeavour - I'll do my very best to reward your patience with a healthy dose of IRM content during the upcoming weeks and months. Short Description: This is a set of car, freight car, and bus traffic blockers for default maxis, SAM, GLR, and RHW routes. They will block one kind of traffic while allowing the other kinds of traffic and pedestrians to pass. This may be useful for creating bus lines, simply reducing traffic, preventing cars from taking a shortcut through settlements, keeping freight cars away from residential zones and so on. Traffic blockers for roads, one-way roads, avenues, side roads, and railway are already existing on the STEX, but not for SAM and RHW routes, so I thought they might be useful. I've tried to keep them as inconspicuous as possible (so not to disrupt the look of your city); therefore the screenshots won't be spectacular. The screenshot below shows a small city where buses and pedestrians are taking the SAM 2 Herringbone Street to get to work, while cars are forced to take a detour. There are traffic blockers for the subsequently mentioned traffic routes: Maxis routes: road, street, avenue, one-way road SAM streets: 2-11 RHW routes: RHW-2, RHW-4, RHW-6, RHW-8, RHW-10, MIS GLR: Tram-on-Road (only with concrete pavement in the center), Tram-on-Avenue, Tram-on-Street For further information, please refer to the readme in the download. Note: If you have downloaded this between April 15th, 2020, and June 16th, 2020, please remove the file TBS_Textures.dat, since it has become obsolete with the release of the 11241036 Textures. Please download this dependency package instead. Dependencies: SFBT Essentials https://www.sc4evermore.com/index.php/downloads/download/22-dependencies/13-sfbt-essentials MGB Texture Pack https://www.sc4evermore.com/index.php/downloads/download/22-dependencies/90-mgb204-texture-pack Network Addon Mod Version 37.0 or newer http://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/26793-network-addon-mod-for-windows-installer-offsite 11241036 Textures SC4Fix: Third-party patches for SC4 Not really required, but it resolves that nasty crash-to-desktop bug occurring whenever you hover with a puzzle piece over a transit-enabled lot. Currently available languages: English, German Installation: Download the archive and extract all files to a folder where you will find them. Move or copy this folder into your Plugins sub-folder of your edition of SimCity 4 (for instance: C:/Programs/Maxis/SimCity 4/Plugins). To uninstall, please bulldoze all instances of this plugin in your cities, then remove all of its files from your Plugins subfolder. Note, if you have versions prior to version 3 installed: Please remove it before installing the new plugin. You don’t need to bulldoze your already existing traffic stops, and nothing will change in-game. However, to tidy up this plugin, I’ve reorganized the files and packed them into one big file. You’ll have them twice if you simply copy this plugin into your plugin folder. Extra note: For people using my Cobblestone Street Override mod, I’ve added the extra file z_TBS SAM 8 Override.dat, which will alter the base texture to a cobblestone texture. Remove this file if you don’t want this (see screenshots). Compatibility: Since this plugin requires installation of the Network Addon Mod, it is only compatible with SimCity 4: Rush Hour, or SimCity Deluxe. Credits: The Network Addon Mod Team for the textures of the routes odrzutowiec for the idea of introducing the GLR traffic blockers Support: Please feel free to post issues, bug reports, and suggestions in this thread: To be done: Also, I'd appreciate if someone could explain me how to make Menu Management Lots. Although traffic blockers are sometimes helpful, we probably won't use them everyday, and therefore you may probably want to save space in your game menu. If I'm getting enough requests, I may include other traffic blockers in later updates.
