    Former IBM Headquarters, Stuttgart by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- Made as a request, this 14 acre campus-style lot is a scaled back version of the former IBM headquarters in Stuttgart. These buildings were completed between 1970-1972 and while they look deceptively simple, they are a great example of the mid-twentieth century modernist style. The building is offered as a non-conditional reward and is a modified version of the advanced research centre. It does not generate radiation (which the in game research centre does) and it looks best placed as a suburban-style campus (as shown in the pictures), but can just as easily be placed in the middle of a high-rise residential district. Being a large lot, I have transit enabled it (which largely negates the crime bug that affects mega lots), but I would still recommend placing one of my police stations nearby. All of my police stations are specially modded to fight crime on mega lots. In addition to providing your sims with 2,250 highly desirable civic jobs that are filled by all wealth levels, this is a CAP busting lot. It will raise demand by the following amounts: Manufacturing: 80,000 HiTech Industry: 900,000 CO$$: 500,000 CO$$$: 500,000 R$$: 80,000 R$$$: 80,000 Placing this lot will also give additional residential and commercial cap relief by providing both Park and Landmark effects. All these benefits do have a cost (which is only fair). In addition to the $80K outlay, this will set the city back $700 per month. * It is offered as a reward without needing pre-existing conditions. * It is located in the REWARD Menu. * It can be placed more than once in a city. * It DOES NOT over-write the ingame Advanced Research Center (or any re-lotted versions there-of), so can be used in conjunction with the standard Maxis reward.     BETA: Uploading this rough draft I made just in case I never get to finish the building. Apple’s headquarters, known as ‘Apple Park’ is a real life building in Cupertino, CA housing Apple's headquarters just south of San Francisco! Apple Park may be formerly known as Apple Campus 2 as well. It's a 1x1 lot with 6,300 high-tech jobs. You must plop twice opposite from each other (you'll figure it out) to get the full circle effect resulting in 12,600+ jobs which is around how many people work at this building in real life! Add those subways, buses and pedestrian pathways! Realistically, you’re looking at a 32x32 lot to comfortably house the full structure on its own lot. It’s that massive! Your wealthy sim residents will be delighted to know a company worth $2 TRILLION will be moving in! Jobs, jobs, jobs! The LODs are snug so you can build anything you want in the middle! No night lights since this is just a draft building so far. The other small complimentary buildings and the final render of this project will be coming. No dependencies but NAM is recommended to use the pedestrian tiles and Girafe's beautiful trees are also a great recommendation!     YouTube Headquarters, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- This is an interpretation of the YouTube Headquarters in San Bruno California. The main changes between the model and the real building are the replacement of the green roof and roof lanterns by a corrugated roof (unfortunately the undulating green roof simply didn't translate well into the SC4 viewing angle) and the main entrance area canopy. I've also used the older logo, because, that's the one I preferred. The garden berm area at the front, despite being part of the main structure has been given a lot of seasonal props and will change with the seasons providing much additional interest. Despite tight-fitting lods, given how the game works with this sort of raised prop placement within the main building footprint, there is some visual slicing of the props display. It is minor, only affects one rotation and is unavoidable. I have made this as a new type of 12x5 MEGA reward lot which looks equally good placed in either a dense downtown environment or in a more suburban or even industrial area. Placing this lot will greatly drive demand in the following sectors: CO§§; CO§§§; R§§; R§§§ and I-H, with the largest up-tick in the CO§§, CO§§§ and R§§ sectors. Therefore, judicial placement of this lot will help alleviate demand caps and, when combined with adequate services, will even combat negative demand. The building has strong park and landmark rating effects in addition to the aforelisted cap-busting properties. It is modded on the in-game Movie Studio template (it doesn't replace the movie studio or any relotted version thereof) and despite the many desirable and beefed up benefits costs nothing to place or maintain. The building itself also directly provides 2,972 highly desirable civic jobs across all wealth levels.   4. So....after a few years off, the Campus, Park Life, Sunset Harbor and Industries DLC drew me back in. I love how Campuses, Parks and, to some extent, industries can be customized and not just placed down with one square plop. It adds so much to the game. I also bought the Snowfall only for the Trams. This game is really, really fun now. I can't wait for Cities Sklyines 2. Rumors are it comes later on this year.

    CG Trader, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- This smaller building is useful for more suburban areas. CG Trader is a company that specialises in the exchange of 3d models, many of which end up in city building games like SC4 (typically without any credit to the original artists who made them), so I thought it was high-time that the offices had a presence in game. The building was loosely inspired by one of the buildings on the same street as CG Trader's Israel office. It is a 6-floor building with a decorative mesh brise-soleil in a distinctive dusky blue and white ombré look. Angled walls and different projections, roof spaces and courtyards help to break up the facade. It grows on a 3x4 or 5x5 lot. The 5x5 lot is arranged as a leafy campus-style building which, though popular in the real world, is still somewhat sparse in SC4. John Mormand tells us a tale: "The grand-grand-father of our current governor Youl Nasme, with the name Mark, is part of the great five founders of the country as the main head of this school. It was first open almost 40 years after the city's designation as the capital. The story of the campus is the same as the city's. Originally the urban area's limit was the current historic downtown, so the known North Tarrë's Plan was focus on a city of technology and education, whih consequently result on the specialization and well-known high-tech industry on the metro area. By now, the district's development has reached it's physical limits and caused new plans as the airport or the Northern Peak Plan. The spirit of innovation along the calmness of the gardens is the perfect match; the campus is the treasure of the region, as one of the most interesting attractions and the pride's of every soul in the nation." Please tell me how to hide district name labels, stars, policies, etc. in campus, university, industrial districts, etc. I want to see just the city; without floating words, stars, symbols, etc. I tried to subscribe to "Toggle It!" but it givers an error message. In the past we could use a mod (? user interface?) to toggle district names on and off, but says that it isn't supported now. Thanks!
  9. Hello, I'd like to add sports and or teams to the game but not sure if it's at all possible. Not started modding anything for the game but I'd love to know if it's even possible. I have already looked at the code for Varsity Sports but not sure where to start. Thank you! daLight

Here is a list of mods that I am using that so far seem to be working alright with Campus, I have done it in image form due to the amount that I am using and so far the only one that said anything was TMPE that warned me I was using an old version of the mod.. Will let everyone know if something crops up error wise but so far so good..

  15. Happy New Year! The local journal De Nieuwezee Nieuws has opened the year with an exclusive scoop! Their sources in the Town Hall have confirmed that Nieuwezee has been successful in its bid to win Infrastructure Development Funds from central government; the town is to receive a total of almost €90,000,000 spread over the next 5 years. The award is to be confirmed at a press conference later this month, but thanks to 'Het Nieuws' we can already reveal a lot... The funding will be used to meet projects 1-4 of the Nieuwezee Strategic Plan 2015-2030: Project 1 is the completion and zoning of the Oosterpolder district. If you've followed my previous posts you'll know that the polder is almost drained. Next it will be necessary to lay down roads, utilities and other infrastructure... not least, a 1.5km extension of the tram system! This will prepare the area for commercial development, to happen gradually over the next 5-10 years. This project is the largest part of the Strategic Plan to have received funding; the intention is to nearly double the town's population from the current 26,000 to more than 50,000 by the year 2020. The Oosterpolder as it looks today... Project 2 is the creation of the Poldermeer nature park and recreational lake, immediately to the North of Oosterpolder. The shallow valley which sits behind the Peninsula, has been flooded and it is to be landscaped to provide a huge green space at the heart of the growing city... An artist's concept of the Poldermeer upon completion... Project 3 is still to be confirmed; it is the planned creation of a Biotechnology Campus by the University of North Holland. The university has signalled that if Nieuwezee was successful in it's current funding bid, and if the council were then willing and able to build a suitable extension of the the nearby tram-line... then, the University and its commercial partners would be in a position to invest millions in creating a new campus and business park. This project now looks likely to go ahead, after the town's IDF award has been officially announced... A projection of the Biotech Campus site plan, immediately North of the harbour... Project 4 is the most modest in the programme; it involves the regeneration of the Westerhuizen district. Plans include a refresh of the urban infrastructure, provision of new housing and a suite of civic buildings including a Community College and Primary School. Although it's not so significant for the future of the city, these improvements will mean a great deal to the people living in Nieuwezee's most run-down district. Westerhuizen on a good day... The remaining projects 5-6 within the 15-year strategic plan, are beyond the scope of the current Infrastructure Development Funds but this will be reviewed around 2020, as the initial projects near completion.

Please show us your university campus(es) (customized, preferably), as well as any other institutes/facilities of higher education. Also, if possible, show how they tie into the surrounding neighborhoods, environment, etc. Feel free to post anything else related to SC4 universities/institutes of higher educationin your cities, as well.
