  1. sc4pac (Mod Manager)

It is pretty harsh, but I'd recommend you to back your data up and trash your existing Windows installation. Reinstall Windows from ground up and install Java again. I suspect there's a conflict in Java and Windows installation. Also, I heard modern Minecraft (post 1.14+) comes with Java. So yeah, it's a different version. I also recommend you to check the JAVA_HOME and other JAVA environment variable in Advanced System Settings.
  2. New Modern 3D Camera Plugin

A bit curious, can we rotate the region view?
  3. New Modern 3D Camera Plugin

    Game Image Engine/Extension?
  4. ideas Site Suggestion Box

You have to do it manually, unfortunately. But I wish, we could get that.
  5. Post Modding Requests Here

The problem is you have so many jobs in the region and almost none in the adjacent cities. Sims won't go to far cities. They only go what's the nearest. Unfortunately the city they go in has no vacant jobs (in fact, it needs vacant jobs). I ran into this problem so many times.
  6. Post Modding Requests Here

As the creator of the after mentioned mod, I honestly also don't really know since I haven't used demand mod since forever (you can have high demand with CAM by growing insane population on a tile). But if the load order is correct, it shouldn't have any problem. Go ahead and let us know what's your result.
  7. Is it just me or the ST is a bit different?
  8. It's ok to verify your files yourself. It's the same thing as eating rocks every day or eating pizza with Elmer's glue, for extra tackiness. I mean, it's ridiculous and probably too good for you. But why not? Think different. Seriously, well I'd summon both @CorinaMarie and @Cyclone Boom. We do really clarification for this regard.
  9. SC4 Season Jumper DLL

Personally, I didn't use it since I'm not an MMP guy (yet). But man, great news for everyone!
  10. SC4 Terrain Extensions DLL

Mind = blown! 🤯 Can't. Imagine. Any. Words!!!
  11. Thanks for trusting me to help the recovery process. But I still really don't know what I'm going to do and how to do it. Handing some STEX mod tools to a group of us needs more communication. Edit: I'm so illiterate. I'm proud of it. I hate it.
  12. Welcome

Hi back again! Thanks for inviting me. Personally, while I know about SCS, I never played it. So, I don't know which mod made for it.
  13. effective. Power is Born

For those of you who want the intro, check out Hello, We officially settled for effective. Power. Why? Because we'll have some surprises in Fairview Town later in the journal. It will be a much different town than effective. Power. Also, effective. Power has 2 plains, effective. Plain and Eastern Hill. We specifically settled in effective. Plain due to its proximity to Just a Range. Just a Range isn't just providing protection from foreign intervention but also serves as a national park. The national park protects some trees from cut by the city development. Just a Range is also have a really good quality water source, which is important for large scale civilization. For the layout, we settled with Manhattan grid. Why? Because it's expandable, efficient, and more importantly, spreads out the traffic. We also opt for dense urban area because one of our plan is to make a developed city that can be traversed by different mode of transport, ones of which are cycling and walking. Cars aren't necessarily efficient, especially for one or two people. The inefficiencies also go to the noise and emissions they produced. Even if cars are really efficient, clean, and completely safe, some people will prefer other modes than car because driving cars isn't a passion for them. Years after the laying out the grid, here's the district what we called effective. Plain. There's the national park between the industrial zone and residential zone. Midrise housing and dirty industry were popping out. Traffic are basically everywhere but not in the level of jam. There are also some commercial districts, located within 25 tile radius of residential buildings. It means that the districts can be traversed by walk (or more specially running) for 5 minutes. Again, we don't want to use cars just to shop something. Industrial zone is exempted from this rule due to its pollution. So, you have to use your car to traverse to industrial zone. Don't worry, there's almost no jam to the industrial area. Water are provided from a source in a green area. The water is filtered using a not-so-high-end technology. At least, you can literally drink from your tap. Not only the ground water we filtered, but also waste. This plant can process industrial and domestic waste to clean water that you can use for various purposes. There are some mid-end housing, too. The middle class was expected to come in masses. But for some reasons, SimCity 4 doesn't automatically upgrade the houses to mid-end housings. Should I manually upgrade my buildings both in future and this city? Let me know in the comments. This phenomenon makes the development of the city quite slow aside from education. We even don't currently care about the citizen health care due to the cost associated with it. But, we do want that to be happen, just the financial situation we lived in isn't enough. effective. Plain isn't just concrete jungle, but also a true tree jungle. Since we're in a tropical region, we don't expect trees like maple etc, even on buildings if any. This is Just a Range National Park, a rainforest that serves as a barrier of both air and water coming from the industrial area. The forest also serves a place to observe the nature and even for some who loves, live in the nature. We offer this choice even the city is reasonable clean, at least in residential area. Industrial area, not so much. Once the industrial area is clean, the jungle will be used as a beauty of the city. After all, we, humans are coming from nature, not from the city. Cities are just a human construct. Here's the industrial area. This is responsible for a large portion of the GDP and most importantly, employment of the city. Unfortunately in the start, we had lots of dirty factories. Those factories were responsible for level 500 air pollution. That's unacceptable. Fortunately, the forest is again act as a barrier. We could opt for agricultural area. But they're not efficient enough for our large population. So, we opted for dirty industry. The area isn't only serves as an industrial area. But also, the plant and the garbage chute. We have 4 garbage chute and so far, no garbage in the streets at all. Good job for the chute workers, the truckers, and the collectors. There were also 3 coal plants. They were extremely polluting and relying on imported coal. 28 years later, we're somewhat successful converting dirty industry to manufacturing. The big problem facing now is there's no demand for manufacturing anymore, even though the population is getting educated and educated. Maybe, this is a side effect of not converting low-end housing to mid-end housing to bring middle class. I'll investigate it later. The air and water pollution level is dropped from 500 to 350. Not great, but not bad. There's also an abandonment crisis despite the effort to build commercial zones. Most likely, there's no dirty jobs anymore despite there's no demand for those jobs. Demand and occupancy are different things in SimCity 4, though correlated. If you have a negative dirty demand but your population is still working in those factories, then abandonment will happen. The industry were expanded to other area to fulfill the dirty demand. But now since the demand is negative, they're just an another zone for manufacturing. I have attached a bonus image with coal power plant for those who want to know what's the original intention. Also, the natural gas in the forth image is replaced by 2 wind turbines due to a complaint by factory managers there. Those areas are conforming to grid but not necessarily. There are instances where the grid is somewhat broken due to slope issues. But at least, they worked. There are also some forest area. I may decorate those areas later. Who said that a city with dirty industry can't have high-end office towers? Well, we did. There are 4 towers that has been constructed in front of the city palace. They're occupied by some world's renowned companies. Oh, not just 4, but 6. Yes, we built 2 new towers. Farly Audio is one of the occupants of the new 2 towers. High-end towers could have been anywhere in this district. But due to low economic mobility, only 6 has been built. We want those towers to be constructed anywhere within market demand. Let's hope that we can figure out the solution. High end towers and factories are the future, not dirty (manufacturing). We have an obligation to publicize the budget. Why? Because we don't want to be not transparent what we do with our budget. That's why I'm going to release the budget for December 2028. In summary, we have 4.41% of primary balance, which is trending downward in recent years. Again, the unemployment and low economic mobility are contributing to the income that hasn't increased significantly in the last 10 years. That's makes the spending so hard. We can't spend our money to crime, full fire coverage, parks, and health care for that reason. We wish the primary balance will be 10%. Let's go to the budget. That's it for now. What do you think about my CJ? If you have suggestions and critics, let me know in the comments. As always, see guys next time!
  14. How Proximity Effects Work?

What da f ing hell is the HappinessCurve? I never thought that Mayor Rating is somehow a curve. Maxis is so ridiculous.
  15. How Proximity Effects Work?

What da hell is a GeneralResponseCurve? Is it a curve that response to something? The name is quite sus. Sorry for necro'ing the topic
  16. Afaik, it's not possible, maybe unless using mods like that mod allowing plopping buildings outside of the city border. But we can sorta emulate that using smaller snap points, like in the context of parks, we could plop smaller extra pieces next to the park so the grid is tangibly smaller than the grid used by the park. My memory is a bit foggy.
  17. Simtropolis Returns!

Yup exactly. That's Ulisse and @Tyberius06 work over the past 2-3 years or so. We have been witnessing the biggest restoration project in history, since before that, we're arguing about "is restoring ethical and legal?" Now, it's time to leave that discussion and restoring all files as much as possible. Addendum: because you're wondering, well it so happens that the restoration efforts comes with folder restructuring and coincidentally sc4pac couple years later. Earlier files, more specifically their zip files, got restructured and when sc4pac came about a year ago, it got restructured again to be more compatible with sc4pac. Afaik, they're all part of the same movement, Project Zip or Modpacc (depending who you ask). That's why I included all of them in the context of restoration.
  18. NAM General Support

According to this doc*, it's possible to have a diagonal road intersecting with a curve. But, there's a problem. I don't know if wide-radius curves (WRCs) are supported. It could mean a small (I mean, 1x1). I do know that WRCs, especially ones made of streets, are a bit fragile. You can screw the curve if you're trying to intersect the wrong way. *https://www.sc4nam.com/docs/feature-guides/base-network-additions/#additional-intersections--junctions
  19. SC4Mapper

Are there plans to revitalize SC4Terraformer, since it's already pretty pain in the a-word to run with?
  20. sign up Calling All Volunteers!

I'd like to be a processor and verifier because well, I don't have the files. I'll try my best despite I have possibly a quite hectic schedule till the end of this year.
  21. Simtropolis Returns!

Manually reuploading files isn't possible for the moment. I tried it with my files and everything related to attachments are write-protected. And nope, you can't DM admins either since the protection is global. I'll wait for CB and Cori.
  22. Lego Mania

    The image is missing, @CorinaMarie.
  23. What Music are you listening to right now?

Who is @Lab Rat? And why @Terring profile picture becomes a T?
  24. Simtropolis Returns!

God f-ing finally, ST is back! Hope for the best for all the community. Thanks, Dirk and all of you! Also, I don't know if SC4D forum would shut down again. @Tarkus, if I may, can I ask about that?
  25. Can second to that. I had a problem with the PM being erroneous. I wish I can post it here. But since it included a portion of PMs, I couldn't. Update (@CaptCity): yes, refreshing doesn't solve problem. Heck visiting in different times doesn't solve it. So does better internet connection. I'd argue it's almost probably ST's fault, tho note that I have strict cookies settings since almost a year. But right before this, it didn't break at all.
