Is there any SC4 mod to improve infrastructure budget dialogues and sliders?
percuno posted a topic in SC4 - Custom Content
Is there any mod or combination of mods that would give me any of these things: A bit larger text in the line items, More line items in the window, Easier to adjust sliders: larger, or with arrows at ends to make small adjustments, or that display the new amount while you slide them rather than after you release them? (the last being the single most frustrating thing about the game since day 1) TIA - GD Edit: Removed information irrelevant to the question that seemed to be distracting responders. -

And that is all the answer I needed. Thank you for that, and who knows...maybe when the right circumstances arise I may attempt it. Not likely, but que sera, sera. I am more likely to figure out a way to get 3840x2160 to work -

Me, a mod? Not likely. SC4 modding is much harder than Skyrim modding, and I can't even manage that. Maybe before I started showing symptoms of fibromyalgia and got onto a long chain of various terrible medications I could have attempted it, but now I have trouble just getting my dependencies straight on mods from other people before I have to drag my sorry behind to bed due to overtaxing my neurons. If it's not been done by now, 15 years after release, it's probably not possible due to engine limitations, because surely I am not the only person of the many thousands of players who has not thought there must be a better way to do these sliders. And once again, I have none, zip, zero, nein, nee, não, niet, nahi, voch, non, oya, nde, c'am, hókai, tsaa, maley, atsá, jok, arangkwa, yelem, cuwa, lawnga, NO ISSUES WHATSOEVER with my screen resolution, sharpness or quality and it's getting really irritating having practically everyone address this non-issue as if it had anything to do with the topic. I worked in IT for over 30 years before having to retire and go on disability...screen issues I can deal with and have done so, with much less effort than it takes to track down the dependencies for one little ploppable hospital, and figure out which ones are obsolete and can be replaced with newer/compiled mods. The only issue is the fiddly budget bars, with the larger budget windows to fit more line items (especially for schools and hospitals) as a nice-to-have option. Said budget bars have been an annoyance for me since it first came out and I only had to deal with them on a 1024x768 and 1280x1024 screens. The only reason I even mentioned having a 4k screen but running it at 1080p was because the problem would be even worse if I could actually run the game at 4k, because they (the budget bars) would be even tinier. Sorry if this post sounds a bit snarky but between my disability pain and the fact that everyone is trying to tell me how to fix my screen when I've clearly stated that the screen is not an issue, it's getting a little difficult to maintain my satori. -
Looks great, but 15 dependencies for one lot? That's a bit much. Maybe when I get around to collecting prop packs again, for now I am getting ready for a big system upgrade. One thing, the dependency lists LBT Prop Pack (the link goes to LBT Prop Pack 3 v1.0) and LBT Mega Prop Pack; however, the mega pack includes LBT prop packs 1-4 making the other one redundant.

I've used this before, a long time ago, and only just found it again. It's my favourite hospital and best of all has no dependencies. On the largest city sites, I can put one near each corner and then put a regular hospital with a helicopter in the middle and pretty much have all my health needs covered even in the most heavily populated cities.

Thanks for the welcome, markussaage, but I've been around here since 2005. I just don't find much need to post and up until now I've been able to either solve for myself or find a solution to most of my SimProblems. My monitor is a very high quality Philips and more than adequate for CAD work at 4k, and it works just find on DirectX at 1920x1080. I prefer this to other resolutions because it is exactly 50% of the screen res, so the AA is nice and clean and there is absolutely no blurring at all. The question isn't about display resolution, it's about the budget dialogue windows and sliders, hence the title being about that and not screen res. The biggest problem is the fiddly sliders, which Maxis made about as useless as they possibly could for the purpose, especially by not having the values update until you release the mouse button. If nobody knows of a mod that does it by now, then I'll have to assume it can't be done and just work around it. -
Fixing SimCity 4 from Being Stagnant
percuno replied to Propfam's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Considering that there are more than 20 city building or hybrid city/empire building games, with or without cooperation/fighting between npcs or other players, recently released (using a time scale of less than a year old) or currently in development, I would have to disagree. Perhaps the community is in a "wait and see" mode, but the genre itself doesn't seem to be in imminent threat of extinction. The only thing I am seeing dying is sites that are heavily invested in specific games, like SimCity 4 or Cities Skylines. -

You may have more schools than fit into your Master Education Budget window; if so, you need to scroll down by clicking on the little down arrow just above and to the right of the subtotal. http://home.cogeco.ca/~pblonde2/MEB.jpg Yes, the colours are wierd, I accidentally inverted them while I was clipping the screenshot, and liked how it resembled an old-style chalkboard so I left it that way.
