  1. BAT4Blender

hello all! last i checked in on this project it was still kind of a pipe dream, so it's really exciting to see how far it's progressed. i'd love to help if i can—i am not a coder in any shape or form, but i do know my way around Blender pretty well, and i used it several years back to model a few buildings that i then exported to 3ds Max and to the game via Bat4Max. I don't have a 3ds Max license any more, so the idea of being able to use Blender from start to finish is really exciting. i have a few buildings that i've worked on now and then for fun, really, and they're in a state where they're prob ready to be rendered, so if anyone would like to use them to test the existing Bat4Blender functionality, they're most welcome to do so. I also have Blender running on both macOS and Windows 10, so if cross-platform testing is required, i could certainly help with that. i can also help with tips for using Blender for anyone unfamiliar w the software, and i'm v much open to ideas w/r/t other things i could do! fwiw, here are the WIP buildings i have kicking around
  2. in all seriousness: what a time to be alive! the work that modders are doing w this lovely game, 16 years after it was first released, is really amazing. bravo!
  3. Hey @Bryan623 (and @Jasoncw), there's a discussion of this happening at SC4Devotion. Some progress is being made, although the project is still very much in its infancy. I've modelled all my BATs (all three of them, lol) in Blender, bc i find it easier than 3ds Max, but at present i still need to export them to 3ds Max (or Gmax) to render them for SC4.
  4. Wait, so @Goldman Sachs, what's the program you're using in the post where you say "I think I found a way to eliminate the black edges"? And ... how does that method work? I'm having a heap of trouble w alpha bleeding on this BAT i'm trying to render, and I'd love to know how to get rid of it. (I've used both of the solutions that Mattb325 describes here, and the problem remains.)
Ah, this is awesome. I've relotted them myself for use in my cities, but yours are much better!
  5. Real Upgradeable City Halls

  11. FAQ: FileJuicer and .exe installers

I've been using Wine. It works, and is free. I wouldn't bother with Filejuicer tbh
  12. Has anyone been able to get HD texture mods working on the App Store re-release? I get a crash to desktop as soon as I try to found a new city. Using hardware rendering, but that doesn't seem to make a difference. Anyone got any ideas?
