  1. SimPrague Bata Shoe Factory 24 and 25

    Version 1.0.0

    613 Downloads

Happy New Year! A little present for all of you industrial geeks. Before we return to Prague, we had to stay in Zlín for a while and build a few more factory buildings of the Bata Shoe Manufacturing Company. Similarly to others in the town, they are based on a 6,15 x 6,15 metre reinforced concrete frame, filled with bricks. Circular columns give us a hint that these manufactures were built in 1930s. Unfortunately, they were demolished recently (while their neighbors were renovated for various purposes). Buildings 24 and 25 are smaller than my previously uploaded 44, but they are connected by another part and make a nice ensemble, which I used to create a variety of lots. In fact, there are many lots, both ploppable and growable (see below). TECH STUFF IMPORTANT NOTE: Check the SimPrague_readme.txt to learn more about the project! IMPORTANT NOTE: SimPrague project uses a consistent 133% scale! Sorry if it doesn't fit your city. This pack contains the following models and lots: 2 models of main buildings (24 and 25), each in two texture variants, plus several parts to combine in larger lots: a connection, a small warehouse and a loading bay. 4 growable 7x4 lots, each containing exactly one of the 4 main building models, grows in high density industrial zones and employs ca. 230 workers. Zoning exactly sized areas with ctrl+drag helps, also make sure you have population at least 10 thousand and enough demand for I-m. 4 ploppable 7x4 lots, found in the landmark menu and functioning similar as the growables. The lots are slightly different though. 2 growable 8x8 lots, each containing two of the main buildings and some other parts as props. They grow in high density industrial zones and offer 780 resp. 860 jobs. 2 ploppable 8x8 lots and 1 ploppable 7x7 "compact" lot, all found in the landmark menu. They are different from the growable lots and offer 720 I-m jobs. 1 growable 3x2 "small warehouse" lot, which grows in the high density industrial zone and offers 45 I-m jobs. That is 14 unique lots in total. Night lighting is modest, usually only a small part of the building is lit, one of the models is entirely dark if it suits you better. There is only one night version, but I've tested it and it looks fine with and without SimFox Day'n'Nite Mod. DEPENDENCIES NOTE for beginners: Dependencies are props and other files that are useful and generally accessible online, so you don't want to include them again in any new upload. It can be annoying the first few times you spend half an hour downloading them, but as they are so widely used by all other BATters as well, you will soon find yourself having most of them or being able to skip some. Brill Building New York, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- Located at 1619 Broadway & 49th Street, the Brill Building was constructed in 1931. The Brill building is famous for housing music industry offices and studios where some of the most popular American songs of all time were written. The Brill building was considered to be the centre of American popular music throughout the 20th Century. From the early 1940s onwards, the Brill building housed scores of music publishers and was considered a one-stop-shop for artists wishing to have their work recorded and published. B y the 1960s, the building housed over 160 music businesses and spawned the careers of many artists such as Carole King, Burt Bacharach, Neil Diamond and Paul Simon, to name but a few of the hundreds of musical artists from all genres who used the services of this building and became famous as a result. In game it is offered as a CS$$ and CO$$ growable building for a 3x2 medium density corner lot on the New York Tileset. ANZAC Memorial Hyde Park, Sydney, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- The striking art-deco war memorial to the ANZACs (Australian & New Zealand Army Corps) was built in Sydney's Hyde Park between 1932 and 1934. It is heritage listed. The memorial is the focus of commemoration ceremonies on Anzac Day and Remembrance Day. The building design was part of a competition commissioned in 1929 with a brief that the building cost no more than 75,000 pounds. The building is clad in pink granite with a large arched stained glass window on each elevation and there are bronze friezes above the lower doorways as well as the large sculptures atop columns representing military personnel. The interior features a small museum and halls of silence and halls of memory. To the north of the memorial is a reflection pool lined with poplars. Placing this park lot - as well as blending in with many other modular/maxis parks available, will also greatly assist city growth, clean the air over a wide radius, improve desirability with residential and commercial areas and help bust demand caps across all wealth levels. --------------------------------------- STATS PARK: Lot size : 6x12 Bulldoze Cost: $90 Plop Cost: $2,880 Demand Satisfied:R$ 18,000, R$$ 18,000, R$$$ 18,000 Landmark Effect: +100 over 10 tiles Park Effect: +135 over 135 tiles Pollution: -144 (Air)/ 9 (Water)/ 0 (Garbage ) Pollution Radius: 18/9/0 Power Consumed: 0 Mwh Water Consumed: 45 Gal/Month Monthly Cost: $90 Occupant Group: Civic; Park --------------------------------------- NOTE ABOUT DARK NITE vs MAXIS NITE: There are two model files in this download. You must select the appropriate file from the download. The file suffixed with 'DN' is for those users with a night-time darkening mod installed. The file suffixed with 'MN' is for users who do not have any such mods installed. If you are unsure whether you have a night-darkening mod installed, then choose the Maxis night version. 4. SimPrague Antoninska Apartments

    Version 1.0.0

This time you get some luxury apartments of the late 1930s. Built in 1937 in a young quarter not far from the ciy centre, they represent some of the best of the era. The architect's name is Eugene Rosenberg. They have electric heating, elevator, wooden shades to protect the rooms from sunlight and expensive materials used in the interior. Enjoy and let me know if you would like to live in such apartments. Standa TECH STUFF Unpack the files into your Plugins folder IMPORTANT NOTE: Check the SimPrague_readme.txt to learn more about the project! IMPORTANT NOTE: SimPrague project uses a consistent 133% scale! Sorry if it doesn't fit your city. NOTE: Sidewalk in preview is not yet available online, you will see your own sidewalk texture. There are two models with slight variations in texture shades and with unique nightlighting. I've used them to create two 3x3 and two 3x4 high-wealth residential lots, which will grow in high-density zones and in Euro tileset. You can also plop them as college called Antoninska School of Design, it occupies a 3x4 lot. The stats are as usual. There is also a 3x3 ploppable lot, which can be found in the Landmark menu and functions as CO$$$ with 180 jobs. Each of the two ploppables uses one of the two variants, so you can see them both prior to letting them grow. I've included one prop called GR_GarageBlock.dat, created by GaryReggae and often used by T Wrecks. The reason is I couldn't locate the file online anymore. Search your Plugins folder and if you have it already, delete the folder "Prop_delete_if_redundant". 5. Sioux Falls City Hall

    Version 1.0.0

    2,118 Downloads

Sioux Falls City Hall, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- In my opinion, one of the easiest ways to change the look and feel of a built-up area is by having a large variety of civic buildings: it really does help keep the game fresh and can provide that all important sense of place. Originally posted in the BAT Request thread, this BAT is based on the Sioux Falls City Hall. Completed in 1936, it cost $432,000 (about $8,100,000 in today's money). It originally housed the police, health and water departments, the judicial offices, a jail, a garage and auditorium. The building is of so-called fire-proof construction, made of a steel frame, reinforced concrete floors and reinforced concrete roof slabs. It is constructed in the streamline moderne (a successor to art-deco) style with a brick and granite facade. This BAT is useful for smaller towns and suburban areas (especially US themed ones) where you wish to place a town hall that doesn't completely draw attention to itself. This building is offered as a non-conditional Town Hall reward. It provides 65 very desirable civic jobs and has all of the benefits (commercial and residential boost) of a town hall. This Town Hall is: * Offered as a reward without needing to meet pre-existing conditions. * Located in the REWARD Menu * Can be placed more than once in a city. * It DOES NOT over-write the ingame town hall (or any re-lotted versions there-of), so can be used in conjunction with the standard Maxis town hall reward. * It DOES NOT over-write any of my other town hall lots (so can be used in conjunction with these as well). --------------------------------------- STATS: Lot size : 4x4 Plop Cost: $14,000 Monthly Cost: $150 Budget Item: Government Buildings Occupant Groups: Reward, Courthouse, BSC-Mattb325, BSC Demand Created: Jobs$: 8, Jobs$$: 53, Jobs$$$: 4. You must select and install only one file - depending on which night version you use. If you are unsure whether you have a night-darkening mod installed, then choose the Maxis night version. If you use the dark nite version, you will need a dark nite mod. 6. Paramount Theater

    Version 1.0

    1,912 Downloads

Built in 1931, the Paramount Theater is an art deco landmark in the city of Bristol, Tennessee. The building is located on State Street, which runs along the Tennessee-Virginia border and splits the town of Bristol in two. If you're curious about the history of the theater, I've got you covered. I initially intended this to be part of the retro theaters pack I released last year, but I removed it at the last minute because it didn't quite fit with the others. After spending some more time on it, I think it's finally ready. I even learned how to make custom lot icons for the ploppable version - no more sifting through a sea of zoomed-out lot editor screenshots with ugly gray/black backgrounds! This is a 1x3 CS$$ lot that is available in both growable and ploppable versions. Both versions provide 41 jobs (as do my other theaters) and can be used in a W2W setting. As always, I've included both darknite and maxisnite versions. The darknite scene requires this spiffy mod by Simfox. Use only one at a time. Otherwise, no dependencies. Special thanks to the illustrious Jasoncw, who saved the day by exporting the LODs when I ran into an ID conflict issue. Click here to learn more about my current projects.

This BAT is inspired by the functionalist apartament house known also as the "Dom Hoffmana", designed by the architect Juliusz Żórawski, and erected in Warsaw in the years 1933-1935 under the "6. Sierpnia 28" adress (now "Nowowiejska 4"). Unfortunately the building was heavy damaged during the WWII, in this case the reconstruction was possible, but during it, it received a completly different flat facade with rows of the "portes fenetres". BAT reconstructs the original - 1930s version, but with some changes at the back of the building, e.g. its depth has been cut in about 2/3, to place it at the 2x2 lot. Small modern apartament house designed by the Julian Lisiecki and Janusz Krauss and built in Warsaw in the years 1936-1937. Compared with the real building my BAT has some changes at the back wall, but the facade is an exact reproduction. Plugin consists of orthogonal and diagonal version. Models are avaiable in game as: - PLOP - CS$$ - ortho. (2x2) and diagonal one - 40 workers. - GROW - R$$4 - ortho. model (2x2 and 2x1 lots) - 60 residents. Diagonal model has two colors of the base/sidewalk texture to choose - grey (a la Maxis) and brown which fits to the Paeng's Sandstone Mod. DEPENDENCIES: There is one, but required only for the diagonal models, if you do not plan to use them, you do not have to download this: "MS Al. Przyjaciół 3" - in version 2 or later (important not the one from November 2012!) https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/28174-ms-al-przyjaciol-3/ The "Al. Przyjaciół 3" will be a dependency for most of my future similarly sized diagonal buildings.

With some changes this BAT has been influenced by the functionalist apartament building designed by the architect Juliusz Żórawski and built in Warsaw between the 1936 and 1937, next to the Przyjaciół Avenue (eng. ~"Avenue of Friends"). Plugin consists of parallel and diagonal version of the building. Models are also available in game as: - PLOP - CS$$ - parallel and diagonal - GROW - CS$$5, R$$$5 - parallel form only All lots offer 100 working places or place for 75 residents. Parallel model has 4 types (3 colors) of the facade - original one is the yellow sandstone. DEPENDENCIES: There is one, but optional. If you want to see cars parked at the back of the lot, you need to install "MS Motokloss 60s-70s Car Props" from this set: http://community.sim...-set-car-props/ However lots should works good also without it (no brown boxes etc.), so it is not mandatory.
