    Version 1.0.0

ZhenHai Tower (Chinese:镇海楼) Located in the Yuexiu Park in Guangzhou City (Canton),ZhenHai Tower is a comprehensive history museum with local characteristics. Established in 1929, it is a place used for collection and exhibition of historical data and cultural relics of the city. It has two major exhibition areas – the Zhenhai Tower housing the historical relics and the Art Gallery showing many exquisite local craftworks. A Little History: In 1380. Zhenhai Tower (Sea Guard Tower) is 28 meters (92 feet) high and 31 meters (102 feet) wide. It has been destroyed and rebuilt five times and was changed from a wooden structure to reinforced concrete in 1928. The reddish-brown bricks and grey tiles made the building primitively simple and unique. At the front of the building, there is a pair of two-meter-high stone lions in red sandstone made in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The tower houses nearly a thousand pictures, data and other exhibits on history of the city's history. Those collections display the changes of culture, custom and city developments. Walking into it, you can see a geographical model and a diagram of the ancient Guangzhou city at the first floor. On the second floor, there are historical relics (4000 BC - 589 AD) and unearthed remains of the Neolithic Age. When you come to the third floor, you can look around the historical relics of Sui, Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. The fourth floor mainly exhibits plentiful historical relics of the Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1911). Modern Chinese cultural relics since the Opium War (1840 - 1842) are displayed on the fifth floor. Besides, there are also special showrooms at the east side of the tower where all kinds of temporary or memorable special exhibitions are often held. At the west side, there is a barbette with cannon on it and 23 ancient stone tablets. ----------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- STATS LM : Lot size : 3x2 Plop Cost : 9000 Budget Cost: 350 ----------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- Remind: Download "MaxisNite" or "DarkNite" ----------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- Dependence: None Optional: (For DarkNite) SimFox Day and Nite Modd ( https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/23089-simfox-day-and-nite-modd/ ) ----------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- There is "no" Easter egg in this building.

    1,418 Downloads

The Sun Co Ltd (Chinese: 大新公司) ( Today: NanFang Building ( Chinese: 南方大厦 ) ) is a historic high-rise building in Guangzhou, China. At the time of its completion in 1922, it was the tallest building in the country. Since then, it has served as offices, department stores, electronics markets, and hotels. To be honest, when I export it into the game and compare it to Oi Kwan Hotel. It feels it is taller than OiKwan, but I double-check its scale that I find nothing incorrect about it. It is just because of the game view prespective. So now OiKwan has its big brother now! This building is the main part of the complex. The Wet side of the The Sun Co Ltd is another independent building. ----------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- STATS LM (with CS$$$) Overhang : Lot size : 4x4 Capacity Satisfied: CS$ 1550 CS$$ 1225 CS$$$1550 Occupant Group: Landmark with CS$$$ Job STATS LM Overhang : Lot size : 4x4 Plop Cost : 19000 Budget Cost: 600 ----------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- Remind: Download "MaxisNite" or "DarkNite" Do Not Delete "TheSunCoLtd(BlankBox)"&"TheSunCoLtd(Plop)"! ----------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- Dependence: None Optional: (For DarkNite) SimFox Day and Nite Modd ( https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/23089-simfox-day-and-nite-modd/ ) ----------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- There is "no" Easter egg in this building. 18. Advice | How to build a Chinese city I've been playing SC4 for a very very like time, I got it for my 13th birthday, and I'm now 26! 99% of what I may is a hybrid between US And British styles, but I've never tried anything different. I've been looking at a lot of big Chinese cities and want to have a go. I know my custom content will all need changing, but other than just changing the building style, what else can be done? Are there any CJs which follow a chinese style city? I want to make a modern style city etc.

This is a small and simple storefront church for your lower wealth sims... Churches like this are pretty common around New York City. They are small congregations, oftentimes consisting of immigrants who do not have the finances or the size to have a dedicated church building and instead set up in spaces originally intended to be stores or residences. Unlike the Maxis "House of Worship", which caters to middle class (R$$) sims, this building caters to the lower class. It is a low wealth ploppable landmark lot and provides 5,000 in R$ demand cap relief. It doesn't cost anything to plop or maintain. I originally wanted it to be a reward that would come up once you hit 10,000 R$ sims, but couldn't figure out how to do that. Instead, it's a landmark. This lot is the first one in a set of 3 storefront churches that I am working on (one for low density, one for medium density, and one for high density). This one is for low density. 61, 68, and 80 Bayard Street, Chinatown, Manhattan, New York, New York, United States Welcome again to a slice of Chinatown for SimCity 4. More specifically, the "Happy Corner" district. Here, Bayard Street meets Mott Street in the heart of Chinatown, home of the New York’s Chinese New Year parade and one of the largest (and ever-growing) Chinese populations outside of Asia. In recent years, the neighborhood has seen unexpectedly high growth despite the effects of 9-11 and the late-2000s recession. Tourism is still depressed, but sectors such as food and restaurant services are booming, including the addition of two major supermarkets in less than 24 months. Furthermore, property values and immigration are still on the rise. However, Chinatown’s division between its previously dominant Cantonese population and the recent wave of Mandarin-speaking Fuzhou immigrants seems to be growing by the day. Everyone has their own opinions, positive or negative, about Chinatown. In my personal opinion, the people I've met there seem pretty mellow... even if you don’t always know what they’re saying. CS$ medium density buildings 126, 129 and 131 jobs Grows on 1x2 lots Also comes as ploppable landmarks with the same properties as the growables. No dependencies! Just unzip in your plugns folder and you're good to go! *Note that there are two subfolders, one for growables and one for ploppables. Feel free to delete either one, as long as you don't delete both, because that would be absolutely pointless. You can also select specific sub-sub-folders to delete if you don't like a specific building. Love it? Hate it? Leave a comment! Why stop at just 3 NYBT Shops when there are many more? Chinatown (2009) Little Italy Two Bridges The Bowery As always, I'd like to thank the members of NYBT, those who visited our BAT room, those who download, and everyone else I may be forgetting.

The Drum Tower was built in 1272 during the reign of Kublai Khan, at which time it stood at eh very heart of the Yuan capital Dadu. At that time it was known as the Tower of Orderly Administration (Qizhenglou). In 1420, under the Ming Emperor Yongle, the building was reconstructed to the east f the original site and in 1800 under the Qing Emperor Jiaqing, large-scale renovations were carried out. In 1924, the name of the building was changed to the Tower of Realizing Shamefulness (Mingchilou) and objects related tot eh Eight-Power Allied Forces' invasion of Beijing and later the May 30th Massacre of 1925 were put on display. Nowadays, the upper story of the building serves as the People's Cultural Hall of the East City District. The first level of the Drum Tower is a solid square terrace four meters high, 55.6 meters long and 30 meters wide. The front and rear of the terrace are pierced with three arched openings and the two sides with one opening each. The broad, squat multi-eaved wooden structure built atop the terrace is impressive with its red wall and yellow glazed roof. In ancient days, the Drum Tower was the time keeping center for the whole city and was equipped with bronze clepsydras (water clocks) and drums that were beaten to mark the hours. The four bronze clepsydras, which once functioned in the Drum Tower, were reputed to date from the Song Dynasty. Set between these four devices was a large bronze gong, which through a series of mechanical devices was linked to the water clocks and sounded each quarter of an hour. When the system of telling time with incense coils, which burned for hours were introduced, the clepsydras fell into disuse. In ancient times the upper story of the building housed 24 drums, of which only one survives. Its head is made of an entire ox hide and is 1.5 meters in diameter. A sword score on the side of the drum is a souvenir of the Eight-Power Allied Forces' invasion of Beijing in 1900. In the Qing Dynasty, the hours were marked at night beginning at 7:00 p.m., a procedure that was popularly called "setting the watch." At this hour, the drums were sounded 13 times. After the watch had been "set" in this fashion, each subsequent two-hour interval was marked by a single drum beat. Civil and military officials oriented their lives around these time signals. At the sounding of the third watch (1:00 a.m.) officials attending the morning court audience rose from there beds and at the fourth (3:00 a.m.) assembled outside the Meridian Gate (Wumen). At the sounding of the fifth watch (5:00 a.m.) they entered the Imperial Palace and knelt on the Sea of Flagstones (Haimen) before the Hall of Supreme Harmony (Taihedian) to await instructions from the emperor. Close behind the Drum Tower stands the Bell Tower, a 33-meter-high edifice with gray walls and a green glazed roof. Each face of the base of the building is pierced with an arched opening and each side of the Bell Pavilion, which stands on the platform, has an arched gateway as well. The Bell Tower first came into use during the reign of the Ming Emperor Yongle, which it was converted, from the main hall of the former Temple of Eternal Peace (Wanningsi), which had been built during the Yuan Dynasty. The new Bell Tower was destroyed by fire after only a brief existence and it was not until 1747 that Emperor Qianlong undertook the reconstruction of an attractive durable stone structure. This building was so sturdy that he only damage that it suffered during the Tangshan earthquake of 1976 was the loss of a single stone animal head decorating the roof. The Bell Tower originally housed a huge iron bell. But because its tolling was not loud enough, this was replaced by a massive cast bronze bell over 10 inches thick that is in perfect condition today. The iron bell was moved to the back of the Drum Tower where it has remained for over 500 years. As recently as 1924, the bronze bell could be heard ringing out the 7:00 p.m. chime from a distance of over 20 kilometers. According to legend, an official named Deng tried unsuccessfully for over a year to cast the bell. On the eve of the final casting, his daughter, fearing that further delays and loss of working time would bring blame on her father, decided to sacrifice her life in order to move the gods to bring about a perfect casting, and threw herself into the molten bronze. Her panic-stricken father could only recover a single embroidered slipper from the flames. The casting was a success and the emperor, moved by the young girl's spirit of sacrifice, named her the "Goddess of the Golden Furnace" and built a temple in her honor near the foundry. By the ordinary people she was remembered as the "Goddess Who Cast the Bell." After the bell was installed, the chimes could be heard clearly and resonantly all across the city. But on stormy evenings, the bell would emit a desolate moaning sound similar to the word xie, which means "shoe" in Chinese. Recalling the old legend, mothers would comfort their children with: "Go to sleep! The Bell Tower is tolling. The Goddess Who Cast the Bell wants her embroidered slipper back."
