    Is there a way to access the full size LA map you posted before? I know some of it may be too big to reach due to the limitations of the game but I think most of it would be ok as I had a similar map of Long Island that was about as massive!

  6. When I exit a city to the region, most of the time the game crashes instead. I've tried saving separately and then exit without saving, I've tried save and exit but it doesn't make a difference. Its frustrating as I often swap between map tiles but now I have to reload the whole game each time. If I save and exit the game still saves, but then fails to load and just crashes.
  7. So many stations have access for buses built in, but I don't really like to use buses in SimCity 4 as it's hard to control where they go! I place an elevated station that connects to the subway, but it has a bus stop built in which is annoying as straight away it sends buses everywhere!
  8. The way I 'fix' the commute looping is to offset the region tiles so they are places like a brick wall! I use only large tiles, but it means you never get 4 corners together for sims to loop round.

    When you say edit the 'second value' and then those number 0x00 do you mean literally change the second true in the line to false and those numbers below?

    What about enabling Park & Ride? I had parking lots all over my cities which suddenly don't get used now sims drive to the front door of the building rather than to the parking lot.
  13. I tried a smaller region and that seems to be fine... only the large region crashes hmmm although it also seems to crash when I save, but is fine when I 'quick save'
  14. UPDATE: I made a new region, and tried to just save and then exit to region without saving and it still crashes! The region loads normally when I start the game I just can't get back to it to swap map tiles
  15. It happens with most map tiles but not all, I do generally save and then exit to region but it just crashes each time (and sometimes it might crash during the save urgh)
  16. I'm not sure if this is a glitch or not... But I'm sure I don't remember sims being able to change from bus to elevated rail via the highway! Is there a way to stop this other than adding a gap?

Advice | How to build a Chinese city I've been playing SC4 for a very very like time, I got it for my 13th birthday, and I'm now 26! 99% of what I may is a hybrid between US And British styles, but I've never tried anything different. I've been looking at a lot of big Chinese cities and want to have a go. I know my custom content will all need changing, but other than just changing the building style, what else can be done? Are there any CJs which follow a chinese style city? I want to make a modern style city etc.
  18. Persistent signage / label mod: I like to name my streets but recently I haven't done it so much as if you draw a road over a street to upgrade to place a bus top on top is also deletes the labels on the roads! Is there a way or a mod to stop this?

  21. I'm building a city and for some reason everything keep burning! Disasters are turned off forest fires keep raging constantly. I have wide firefighting coverage but fires keep burning constantly and spreading all over, then burn some more. As soon as one it put out, the flare up again!

    I've downloaded it and played it for a bit (with despawn off). The main issue is you have a big motorway running through the middle with very few roads crossing it so they all get jammed. Also you have several slip roads from the motorway feeding into a narrow residential style road. You need more alternative routes across the motorway and use 3+1 roads after the motorways to traffic and spread out more.
  23. I've been play a city for the last few days now and the traffic is all flowing smoothly (with despawning turned off) except in the downtown area. Every road is just full of cars apparently looking for parking spaces. I built several car parks which filled up with car, but then I noticed that these cars - some have been left there be drivers who are 'at home' and their home is the other side of the map! And the road outside their house is empty! Why does this happen!? The car parking in downtown did seem to reduce the number of cars driving around in circles though.

    I only just saw your reply! The issue I have is I get traffic jams caused by people driving around 'looking for a parking space'... I wouldn't mind but there are plenty! I end up just having a downtown full of car parks!
