So, this is almost finished [98%]

This building has a beautiful...industrial austerity! ;-) One or two bulbs with pale light under the canopies of the platforms?? *:thumb:

What is good when you have nothing to say is that you can always pretend to listen. Anyway it does not prevent to think!

First completed portion of a vaguely San Diego-inspired city with port and navy base. This area still requires some additional detail in the future, and I still need to build the actual city part where people live.

Been experimenting with some vanilla building models:

Excellent. I play a region with the simulation with only the NAM, WWS and Vanilla buildings.

The excellent lot of @nos.17 made me want to do it.

I was also thinking of making a few of my own lots from the same buildings. Hopefully, I'll be able to see these superb lots in my area.

Beautiful, beautiful port! Very nice, congrats! May I suggest you something? Why don't you try downloading a water mod? Such a large, beautiful and realistic port deserves better than that maxis default non-textured water imo, a more realistic water mod would make the port look even better!

But ofc its your decision haha the port itself is amazing anyway!

Much appreciated, and I took your advice. May continue to experiment with that aspect.

I'm glad you found it helpful :) Imo its already much better! And this zoom-out view is really good, nice infrastructure in this tile! As you said you were experimenting, I would suggest taking a look at this great catalogue made by @CorinaMarie:

I always suggest the ones made by Gobias if you can play with "hardware" render setting, but again, this is personal taste and I'm no one to enforce something to you haha

Now working on the highway system for my city. Mainly showing this one because it took way too long to finally get it to remain stable:

That's nice, only one direction missing from the right to down way, ramps on one highway, diagonal left ramps very awkward. RHW excessive space consumption wonder so much into so little, well done !

Thank you, and yeah, everything you say is true. Unfortunately, my plan for the city forced me to jam this intersection close to the diagonal portion of the highway in the upper left quadrant, and the diagonal ramp pieces do make options a tad more limited.

Right now I’m relying on a future bypass route to make up for the missing ramp you pointed out (this part of the city is going to be a bit of a spaghetti bowl). I hope that works out because I have no idea how I’d add it to this intersection at this point lol. The problem with trying to go compact is that you don’t leave many gaps I suppose.
