Turn my water into...pudding!!! *:D Where was this 100 regions ago? Coulda saved me a lotta photoshop. Questions- Can these be bundled in Datpacker with the water mod without problems? Can I mix and match, say a black sidewater and an algae swamp? And, is there a mod that will color the Region view map to match the tile color? Many water mods turn up as blue/dark blue in region? Only a few stay true to color.

Looks like my evening is spoken for with an impromptu water mod fashion show.

Yes. These are simply overrides of two FSH files from the game's .dat files, but which are not included with most water mods. For the few water mods which do have side water coloring, you can load a different side water after and it will override just like we know for all other plugins.

    Yep.

The region view seems to come from the un-altered color of the water mod and fares much better for lighter ones than darker ones. I believe it might skip the Sun Reflection @rivit discovered and would therefore be darker. The only way to have the region water lighter colored is to change the water mod you use since the region view is created from an internal PNG thumbnail of the whole city tile.

My guess is the ones which stay truer to color are single color ones rather than with water waves. Even having loaded over a hundred water mods, I don't save them to see what the region looks like. I do know the Drunken one I use is darker at the region level so it is a known phenomenon.

"If you try to please everybody, you often times end up pleasing nobody, especially yourself. When somebody offers to do a favor for free, like making a mod for SimCity 4, you shouldn't be overly critical of something generously given to you. In other words, you shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth." - Twilight Sparkle after playing SimCity

I thought about this, and am still thinking about it because though I've thought about this, I still have more thinking to do as to stop thinking about it would mean not to think.
