  1. I'm trying to work on this BAT, but someone else has other ideas...

  2. 511 Building

I missed this on back in 2008 - but going through the STEX now, I'm glad I found this. It's a perfect "messy" building, random car park ramp, a lot of stuff fitted over the years etc. I love it!
  3. RSP Nis Ekspres HQ

This is super useful, it looks like the kind of office building you'll find in many small towns in Norway too.
  4. Royal Bank Plaza Toronto

I'm a simple creature, when I see a well done gold tinted glass building like this, I go "oooooooh, shiiiiinyyyyyyyyy"
  5. Hey Matt, hope you're doing allright. =) - I recently returned to SC4, and BATting myself, downloaded a lot of your buildings lately, I really like them, you do such a great job at making them feel realistic and lived in. It's an attention to detail I wish I had myself!

  6. KK Power Company Corporate HQ

Creative use of my sky bridges - i like it!
  7. Ananas Haus

I left a pretty lame comment back in 2006. But this really is one of my favourite BATs - It's a shame Odd moved on, but then again, I'm back - maybe he will return at some point too?
  8. Not had much progress on my models - but that's because I've been busy downloading a *ton* of newer buildings since last time I was active. And turns out, even 2018 to 2022 is a lot of content. :P

Think I've caught up with most of Mattb325's BATs, and such so far though. ^^

  9. ESA Egnahem

oh, perfect! this is exactly what I was looking for! I realise they're from the 1930s, but they look a lot like the houses built in Norway after world war 2, to fill an immediate gap for simple homes between 1947 to the mid 1950s.
  10. ESA Nationalromantik

Neat! it looks similar to so called nasjonalromantikk houses here in Norway. The main difference is that Norwegian ones are offshoots of the Swiss Chalet style, and often feature dragons or other Norse related designs. it's cool stuff, you might see a few from me sometime. =) Either way, I'm so glad there's others filling that Scandinavian niche, and not just me, haha.
  11. FA3 Gay Bar

Always cool to see LGBTQ+ representation in Sc4!
  12. Glenni's BAT showcase

Ooh, that sounds cool! I dunno if I can really contribute with anything though. There's probably more talented BATters out there than lil old me, and I don't really like committing to projects like that, or making promises to begin with. At the end of the day I'm just happy to be BATting again, and being back in the community. Anyway, some progress on my little project, I know about the weird artefacts, I'll likely just render it in Gmax BAT instead.

While not a BAT, sometimes it's fun to just mess around with lot editor for personal use with my cities too. This is the Dohn building by Dusktrooper. A neat looking BAT, which I've wanted to use in my cities for a while (as it's only about 38 floors, which is a good maximum height for buildings in my cities) Now it sits in a complex with a sky bridge, adjoining smaller tower, and is the centre piece to a 1960s concrete raised park, and underground mall.
  14. And then the soundtrack hits Primordial Dream.

  15. Jamming to SC4's soundtrack while BATting is good vibes. :bunny:

Loving all these projects! If I may just put my opinion in this though. Yes, it may look odd with certain angles without windows in Sc4. But this happens pretty often in real life. Just in Oslo alone I can think of several buildings that just weirdly jut out facing the steet. Some with windows, some without. But either way, it's clearly the back of the building we're seeing. There's many reasons for why this happens, demolishment of buildings is one thing, former (but ultimately failed) street widening schemes, which is why some buildings are much closer to the street than others. Personally, when it comes to European cities in SC4 I've started doing it more myself, cus real life isn't perfect, and neither is an SC4 city.
  17. Old State Archives (straightened)

Always glad to see more W2W and historic buildings for Sc4! <3
  18. Glenni's BAT showcase

Allright, so here's my current project. For my first BAT after several years hiatus, my skills are a little rusty (That's putting it lightly). So I thought I'd start with something small, and representing a piece of my hometown. This is Haraldsgata 153 ( Harald's Street) - It's one of the many historic wooden buildings from the 1800s, and early 1900s that one can find in the centre of Haugesund, Norway. It contains a clothes store in the ground floor, and the first floor has a book store named "Den Lille Bokbutikken" - "the little book shop". It's among one of my favourite stores, as their main focus is on English and other language books. Most Norwegian book stores usually have at least a shelf dedicated for books in English, but this store goes all in - and I'm all for it! Now, to the BAT: For now it only has a couple placeholder textures, and a piece of the front facade. Should also mention, the renderer is acting a little funny, giving all the visual glitches. The plan is to make the building as close to the real life example. It will be a partial wall to wall building, with a gate on the right side towards the back yard I recently went on a little photo excursion around Haugesund, and the plan is to make a few more buildings. Historic masonry buildings, historic wooden buildings, and more modern examples found throughout the city.
  19. PC Retro Gas Stations 1

I'm glad you did. I always planned to make one myself, even started with the pumps, but never finished it.
  20. PC Retro Gas Stations 1

Had a good chuckle with the Octan one, that was good. Really awesome to see a Statoil too!
  21. Flixbus Automata & Prop

Just to point out, it wasn't Simfanatik that made the Scania Irizar model, it was me. Though he helped mod it into the game. Won't affect my rating though, I'll happily use this alongside my original ones!
  22. I'm back, miss me? :3

      Welcome back sir!

Great to see a BATting legend return to the community. *:)

  23. Glenni's BAT showcase

Hi all, been a while hasn't it? Yep, a lot of cobwebs to clear here... Unfortunately in 2018 i had a HDD failure in my pc, it was so sudden that i didn't get a chance to do backups of stuff that I really should have backed up. So I might as well just declare the projects that you've seen here that haven't made it to the STEX - that includes all the double decker buses; as dead. There is some good news through, while I couldn't find any of my models from the 3dsmax modelling days, I did find a bunch of my most commonly used textures. So there's that, won't make the fact that I have to start over quite as rough...

Do you think the way buildings look when they abandon, is boring? No holes, boarded up windows or anything? Just a boring basic black/dark overlay? Well I thought so, and I made one abandoned one, with a fun Half-Life 2 theme! It's a pity alot of the details got lost in the render though... Stupid BAT.... Stats: Neutral, does neither have YIMBY or NIMBY effects, every mayor or city affecting effect at 0, but with a custom query. No point in making this a growable, because, first of all it has a huge hole in the back, and it is really crummy, not even low wealth sims would live in that hellhole... And yes it does have nightlights. Dependencies: Glenni prop pack (Although, it is included, if you already have it, don't download) BATting: Glenni Lotting: Glenni Modding: Fukuda Enjoy!

This pack is a recreation of the old type of wooden warehouses or packhouses, as some call them. These were built in the coastal communities of Norway. for instance, my hometown, Haugesund, these kind of buildings are even found in the major cities of Norway, like: Bergen , Trondheim and Stavanger. They were mostly constructed for storing, salting, and preparing fish for transport. Though they also had their purpose as warehouses for storing wood and barrels of fish, some also made their own barrels at the site.
