I couldn't find the dark Italian cypresses like seen what is seen in some of the custom lots in order to plant cypress forests or for parks. So I just decided to make an MMP Italian Cypress (Mediterranean Cypress) extracted from the BSC Mega Props Vol02. I personally prefer the darker color of this cypress in this resource pack since it's a little darker and more realistic in appearance. Simply drag to your plugins folder in your SimCity folder contained in your PC's documents folder. Enjoy credit goes to BSC for yet another great model set. Dependency: BSC MEGA Props CP Vol 02

Great file BTW. Also where did you get those palm trees? I only have some of those. I was wondering where you got the tall coconut palm & mexican fan looking palm

I couldn't find any Lebanon Cedar or similar type tree in mods so I made my own. It replicates a common true old world cedar tree found in cities all over the world especially in Mediterranean and semi arid regions worldwide. I attached a few photos of the tree found in the real world to give you an idea what they look like and where they belong. I have commonly seen them here in Arizona in middle elevations in places like Prescott, Bisbee and Sierra Vista. Some are even found in higher colder mountain elevations like Flagstaff where I live. This tree is typically suited for a drier type climate and usually isn't found in humid places or wet places. The tree files are resourced from BSC Mega Props Vol02. Simply drag to your plugins folder in your SimCity folder contained in your PC's documents folder. Credit goes to BSC for yet another great model set.
  4. Mediterranean (Italian) Cypress MMP

I understand. I play mostly a desert southwest theme as of recently. They are very common in the Southwest United States in areas where it's at least 5-10 degrees F (-12 to -15 C) as the minimum low in the winter. So they grow just about everywhere that's not colder than that and need very little water. They can grow as far north as Long Island, NY or Seattle, WA here in United States. i
  5. Network Addon Mod (NAM) - Cross-Platform

I installed this version hoping it would just add to what was already there. No it just forces a new learning curve to use "flex ramps" which I have no idea how to use. I have been using puzzle piece RHW connectors to street e.g. height transition RHW puzzle piece ramps to street with great efficiency and have mastered the puzzle piecing and can do it very quickly and easily. Now it's been robbed off my menu and all I saw were the confusing flex ramps which no matter how I donked around with it I could never get it to do what I wanted and couldn't find useful documentation on how to make draggable connecting RHW ramps to street because they either simply didn't work in my install or I am clueless on how to use them. This seriously irritated me so I went online to see if I could find NAM 32. Nope it was deleted for version 35. Well luckily I found NAM 32 on my secondary hard drive and just manually deleted NAM 35 out of my primary plugins and reverted back to NAM 32 to avoid hassling with the new version. I'm not up for a new learning curve and then stealing things that worked fine from the menu seems pointless to me. I think I will just stick with NAM 32 because I generally just use railway, occasionally tram rails and some Fractional Angle Roads (FAR), RHW and Symphony RHW and for what I have used it seems to be very stable and I just think it's weird to force users into a learning curve either that or I am experiencing a massive glitch. I'm getting too old for massive learning curves when it was already working. I have the belief if it ain't broke don't fix it.
  6. I've poked around all the forums here and have been playing for a number of years. I have quite a laundry list of plugins. All is stable though, haven't had any issues with that. In fact I've retained most of the plugins for years with very little change within the last year. Anyway I'm running a custom built machine with over 10gb of ram and affinity permanently set and have had very little issue with CTD. However I'm running on this one region and got a new city about to 25,000 and I've been observing and managed to save the game literally a few moments from CTD (after putting it on cheetah speed) From what I'm gathering it's a "growable" issue. The plugins seem fine the only thing I can think of is I zoned some land right on the edge of the map and after a certain development of growth it CTD's and it's literally on clockwork. Anybody have experience with this? Can limiting the zones from the last square to the edge stop this from happening. Can you just put some green grass squares and throw in some trees and prevent this? Also another thing (maybe some of you using my mod Arizona Desert Flora, Mojave Desert Flora and Eastern California Desert Flora) is that using those mayor mode ploppables if you accidentally plop off the map (into the gray area) it will immediately CTD. I'd like to fix it but not sure how to go about it. Any suggestions?
  7. Mega God Mode Tree Brush

What I have found about the CTD (crash to desktop) is that it is usually caused by the tree controller plugin its self and insufficient ram, I have few plugins that if you try accidentally paint trees off the map it will CTD but on my old machine with low ram it CTD all the time when painting trees with giant god mode brush.
  8. Arizona Desert Flora Mod

I think what's going on is the fact that I didn't use god mode flora in mind I goofed up on the code a bit and forgot to remove god mode brush files since I used a template from another tree mod.
  9. I have noticed the biggest problems with some CTDs are usually in neighbor connections i.e. water pipes and neighbor connection deals, knowing where to place neighbor connections is key. Some times neighbor connections on hills it CTDs... really ticks me. This latest CTD problem I have is with a city that will run for a bit and then about 5 minutes later it crashes I can't get any progression now I am about to say its a damn lost cause. I noticed I can't really expect to play a city again after building neighbor cities at least for me it seems to get all buggy and crash constantly. I have to grow out each city then move onto the next one. It's really ghetto and its been a problem on two different machines for me.
  10. Post Modding Requests Here

Hey guys I can't really find any active or recent posts in the SC4DOT workshop or any sign workshop for that matter so I figured i'd start editing myself first off I would like to create some signs around Flagstaff, Arizona since there are literally dozens but I don't want to waste someone's hours of time to have them made. I have begun to use gmax using some templates downloaded off the stex. I've got some hi res signs in the making and have an idea how to edit stuff around in gmax/BAT and can get done what I need to get done. The trouble I am having is I export the file from BAT and I can't get it into the lot editor even when I set the catagory to "parks" in the plugin manager. I can get it into the plugin manager and I can edit the specs but what confuses me if I got the scale correct why won't it show in the lot editor even when I load a lot that is of the same catagory? Any suggestions?
  11. SC4DOT Sign Shop

Is this thread dead or is it still live? I am eager to figure this stuff out I got some textures I have created myself I'm looking to create road signs in and around Flagstaff, Arizona. The trouble is I export the file from BAT and I can't get it into the lot editor I can get it into the plugin manager and I can edit the specs but what confuses me if I got the scale correct why won't it show in the lot editor? Any suggestions?

This mayor mode tree brush is a replication of the semi arid Chaparral scrub seen in Southern California and other Mediterranean climates throughout the world. The dependencies are as follows: BSC MEGA Props CP Vol 02 https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2790 Seasonal Flora Patch for All Terrain Mods https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2612 BSC MEGA prop pack Jeronij - Vol 05 https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1586 I HIGHLY recommend this mod to add realism to your canyons and valleys to give it that valley oak touch. Girafe's Oaks are the best models I have seen and really resemble the oaks seen in valleys in Mediterranean climates: BSC - VIP girafe oaks https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2632
  13. There is this one problem where I load into a city I had previously built and try to run the city again after building about 4 or 5 other cities in the region and it just crashes as soon as I set the simulation speed I can't figure this one out. I've done all the multi-core tricks setting the affinity and CPU count to no avail... Really most of my crashes still persist on most cities from time to time even with changing the affinity but this one city is really bad and the weird thing it wasn't a problem before I built two neighboring cities around it and I had not added any new neighbor connections since the last time I played this particular city. I had checked all neighbor connections because on some of the cities some of the neighbor connections would cause a crash to desktop.... I am really stuck on this one because it renders one of my cities unplayable. Any suggestions?
  14. Southwest Desert Flora Pack

Yea I wasn't too sure what do to with that stuff when I made it since I hadn't the experience to know what controls that. However I realized that when I tried using my own instance strings (exemplar ID's) like what other serious modders even though it worked initially in the reader do, the index file wouldn't build correctly so I was stuck using randomly generated ID's and I had to recreate a template... Since I rarely use god mod controllers I didn't think to test that aspect. It was difficult the first mods I made for myself crashed and bugged up but then I kinda figured it out looking at other mods.

I'm actually upgrading this particular mod with more variations of Saguaro to give that  touch of realism and my whole desert flora pack should be done today!

  20. Arizona Desert Flora Mod

    Version 1.1

    792 Downloads

Well here goes it this is my first mod. I couldn't find the desert mod I was looking for so I decided to learn how to create my own. This mayor mode brush is a specific recreation of the Arizona desert flora. These high quality models used in this mod are credited to C.P. and the BSC team. A few maxis scrub files were also used as well. This is semi seasonal mod very similar to the original MMP Semi Seasonal Desert mod minus the trees that don't pertain to Arizona. Required Dependencies:. 21. 150kV Tubular pole set. (HD)

A little question I have is I understand they are not slope friendly but why couldn't there be ploppable tilted wire sections and matching poles with corresponding ploppable power pole segements be created at different slope angles (for example 15,30,45 degree tilted wire upslope so that you could create a piece by piece segement up the hill and the lots where the actual power poles are located are still flat. If you don't understand what I am talking about i might be able to whip up a drawing.
