The End of the Line.
I think this is it for me.
Been playing the game since 2006ish and doing Japanese cities since 2011ish. Last year I took a break of a few months, but the itch to create a city came back hard (specially when I look outside and see the urban developments around me and think "yep that's not how I would have done it")
But frankly every time I played the game i get bored fast to the point where, even completing a city feels like a chore now.
I would launch the game when I have nothing to do/when I'm bored (*), just to fill the void I guess, but the end result is always the same. Bored after 5 minutes.
*and to be fair it's not like I have nothing to do. I have other hobbies I'd like to get back to, even though I'd have to spend some money on them. And I also got a full backlog of other games to play. And IRL, i guess that too.
Been fun. Had some good times creating some cities that I feel i liked.
Even though I had many projects or ideas in my mind that I'd have liked to make in SC4, but sadly it would have required too much custom content, bats, lots, textures etc.. that I simply don't have the motivation and will to do.
I feel like it's been fulfilling at least. Well I say that but there's a few things I would have liked to get for personal satisfaction that I unfortunately never got. (more than 1 trixies, MD hall of fame etc) It is what it is.
Anyway, now that all my last 3D projects are done, including the requests, I think it's about time to finally retire altogether.
I may give cities Skyline a go one day, but probably not. I don't feel like learning how to use a new game system anymore.
Alright, cya.

@Krisman Lovely as usual. I like the terrace on the last pic. it's something I'm definitely missing from the Japanese rice paddies lots. I dislike doing rural areas too. Any reason you are not using wide radius curves?

Which give a nice anecdote: Because Honda had the rights of the Clio name in Japan, when Renault wanted to commercialize the Clio there they had the change the name. So the Renault Clio in Japan are named Lutecia. After the Roman name for the city of Paris (Lutetia) which is really cool.

Finished working on the rural area of my "City". The region consist of two large tiles. I don't feel like I'd have the patience to do anymore than that frankly. Quick pictures with no shadows on.

/!\ These are NOT automatas! They will only appear in game after you've placed them on your lots! /!\ This prop pack contains 719 different cars for you to place on your lots. The cars are available in 90 and 45 angles and feature night lights. (except some race cars) The cars are from the start of the 20th Century all the way up to 1999 and from a variety of manufacturers from all round the world. As with all my uploads, they're done firstly for my use and therefore reflects my tastes, and ideas, as such I've categorized the cars following the things I intend to do in the game at some point. I will not make more than that, seeing as this pack is already massive. I have not dat packed the props so that you can decide which you want to keep or not. I advise to dat pack it for easier loading times. Disclaimer: I did not model the cars. Apart from a few modification here and there. I only converted and imported them into 3dsmax, textured and rendered them for SC4. They mostly come from Assetto Corsa mods and Sketchup's 3D Warehouse. All credits goes to the original creators. Since I am not making money out of this, I'd say it's fair play to use them. For full picture lists of the cars and more details, please check my BAT thread following this link. -
I mean as long you don't have any hardware error, I see no point in changing hardware. Your PC is still modern. Don't believe what the manufacturers or vendors tell you, there are no real reason to upgrade. Windows crashing doesn't surprise me at all, we've had several windows partition just stop working at work. What you can do is backup your data (well, everyone should backup their data anyway) and do a fresh windows install. It's not uncommon for Windows to crap itself after a few years of use.

Does anyone know where to find this shop set? It's from a Japanese website, they consist of several Japanese shops in various lot configuration (examples are 2x2 and 4x2) I don't have them anymore and I can't find them online. All I remember is the 4x2 is called "Tonden"

I completely agree with @Jasoncw on this topic. I'll add that In my opinion AI generation could be useful as a support tool, like for instance creating textures. Where an elaborate prompt could for example create a texture of an apartment window with furniture seen from the SC4 angle.

The yachts looks really good. Would it be hard to isolate the brownish building as a standalone release?

The last one (Top right) is an old model from Simgoober. "SG Lillian Dukes" I think it was part of the LEX DVD.

This transport pack contains GLR, Subway and Bus stations modeled after modern Parisian stations (Mostly Tram T3a) Artistic liberties were taken to fit SC4. Included are eight (8) lots: GLR Side platforms GLR Side Platforms Diagonal GLR Island platform simple GLR Island platform with subway entrance (v2) Subway Stations Orthogonal Subway Stations Diagonal Bus Stops Orthogonal Bus Stops Diagonal The subway and bus stations props are arranged into families, that way you get a different entrance/canopy on your lots. Two different GLR platforms are available: side and island. Four different subway entrances are available: Stairs, Stairs+Escalator, Double Escalators, Lift. Six different Bus stops are available, made using the canopies of the tram platforms. The Subway entrances are also available as props with no signs to better fit other uses. Modding was done by @Tyberius06 , Thanks! Dependencies: Girafe Urban prop pack (Flower Planters) BSC MEGA Props CP Vol01 and Vol02 (Trees and Planters) Network Addon Mod (latest version) https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/35572-bsc-vip-girafe-urbanpack-vol01/ https://www.sc4evermore.com/index.php/downloads/download/22-dependencies/3-sc4d-LEX-legacy-bsc-common-dependencies-pack https://www.sc4evermore.com/index.php/downloads/download/6-network-addon-mod-NAM/2-network-addon-mod For support and news about future BATs, visit my thread on Simtropolis [Link] . -
You managed to capture the essence, the feel of rural France so much it's awesome. I really believe I've seen that exact paysage IRL. Excellent.

@Tyberius06 Ah yes I remember reading that somewhere as well. Well hoping he notices. In the meantime I could use some of the IDs you have. What i really need is to be able to have two families, one for ortho and one for diag subway entrances.
