Wassup ya'll, Sorry for not posting in awhile. I don't think I'll have time to make content for a few more years actually. So, I will be uploading my unfinished files to STEX soon. Most recently, I was hacked three times by a foreign intelligence agency that deleted all my data. I have some backed up, but even the backups were compromised. So, I've lost a lot of progress since. Regardless, I'd still like to make SC4 content but am not able to do so right now because I am very busy. If anyone is interested in making a new city-building simulator game, please message me as we have already started building the foundations of this new platform. Whether you have experience or not in coding, do not hesitate to join. This new game which won't be ready for a few years mirrors that of my SC4 building style as depicted in my Orange Islands region GIF below. If this interests you, hmu. In the meantime, I may continue uploading raw 3dsmax files or simply rendering day versions only if I have the time. Thx guys, I'll keep you updated. - K

Hey everyone! This is my fourth upload, my first glass building! Also, this is my first building with rendered flora. Hope it looks good! Centre Place by Bank of Moscow was initially a project to test Arch & Design materials in 3dsmax! It eventually turned into a beautiful modern building suited for SimCity 4. Centre Place is purely fictional, but the bank name is not. I needed a mix of generic, and realism! This is my best thing to say in all my uploads... NO DEPENDENCIES!! Hope you enjoy it! Please download either the Maxis night version, or the Dark night version. If you don't have Dark Night installed by Simfox, please download the Maxis night version. , Kellydale2003 NOTES: - Not slope friendly - Growable version, and ploppable version (both CO$$$) *Read the "Read Me" file for detailed information - Read me file is .jpg to avoid complications for the .html file versions from my previous uploads (only downside is the Read me is in English ONLY) - Please read the read me before complaining about anything! ENJOY! ps; I'm Canadian, and Canadian's use "Centre" instead of "Center" eh! Especially since Simtropolis.com is Canadian! :b My forum thread where future project and/or improvements on current uploads are developed! update: 09.11.2023 - the upload has been updated, because the original lots have been causing Immortal Lot bug. The stats slightly changed due to updates in the modding, these stats may differ from the numbers that stated in the readme. Please use the cleanitol file (find it in the _Documents folder) to remove the outdated files before you install the update. - Tyberius06- 55 Comments

BETA: Uploading this rough draft I made just in case I never get to finish the building. Apple’s headquarters, known as ‘Apple Park’ is a real life building in Cupertino, CA housing Apple's headquarters just south of San Francisco! Apple Park may be formerly known as Apple Campus 2 as well. It's a 1x1 lot with 6,300 high-tech jobs. You must plop twice opposite from each other (you'll figure it out) to get the full circle effect resulting in 12,600+ jobs which is around how many people work at this building in real life! Add those subways, buses and pedestrian pathways! Realistically, you’re looking at a 32x32 lot to comfortably house the full structure on its own lot. It’s that massive! Your wealthy sim residents will be delighted to know a company worth $2 TRILLION will be moving in! Jobs, jobs, jobs! The LODs are snug so you can build anything you want in the middle! No night lights since this is just a draft building so far. The other small complimentary buildings and the final render of this project will be coming. No dependencies but NAM is recommended to use the pedestrian tiles and Girafe's beautiful trees are also a great recommendation! ALSO, THE PURPOSE OF POSTING THIS BETA IS TO FIND IF SOMEONE CAN COME UP WITH AN AMAZING LOT! FEEL FREE TO RE-UPLOAD YOUR OWN VERSIONS OF THE LOT! My eyes will be on the lookout. Hey everyone: Here is the Royal Bank Plaza -- a real life building in Toronto, Canada -- for your enjoyment. I have included two lots for the same model: One overhang (5x8) and one full lot (7x8). Both serve different purposes depending how packed your downtown core is. This is a CO$$$ as it houses boring bankers who sit behind glass tinted with real gold (like actually). The South Tower has 41 floors and the North Tower has 26 floors. They are joined together with an impressively high atrium with an adjoining outdoor plaza as an outdoor food court. Dark nite only. No dependencies! For more of my projects, visit: -
simtropolis Miraculous News: Cori is alive!
kellydale2003 replied to Cyclone Boom's topic in Simtropolis Related
Hey @CorinaMarie Glad to hear you're still with us on planet Earth! You know, nebulas and stars aren't as special as we make them out to be. It's the photos that are. Stars have been existing for billions of years and will continue to do so for billions more too. But you know what is rare in the universe? Life. Life is rare. We are the rarity. If the stars were alive, they would gaze upon us living beings with amazement and incredible disbelief. After all, the rest of the universe is almost completely void and desolate of life. If they could, the stars would build curious telescopes of their own to observe the little creatures that we are. From a star's perspective, life is purely ineffable, extremely precious, and astonishingly temporary. For a moment in time, life assembles its atoms from stardust, blooms like a flower, and then returns everything borrowed. One day and when it's our time, entropy and time eventually compel the atoms in our body to merge with the rest of the universe. Until then, thanks for sticking with us Cori! You are truly rarer than the Carina Nebula and every other star in the universe. You truly, truly, truly matter for how rare and precious you are. I wish you a speedy recovery! Feel free to send me any building requests at any time when you're back! All is magnificent! - Kelly Edwards- 184 Replies

Thank you for that! You know I get endless comments that are usually all the same, but this one is different. Thank you. With all this crypto stuff, this has got me thinking about how games are evolving. With the future SimCity building-like games, I think they need to include interoperability with powerful programs such as AutoCAD and 3dsmax. Part of the love of SimCity building for me is the engineering. That's why I love creating the superstructure of the tower and having it be seen through glass. 111 W. 57 update This is going to be a 1x3 with an overhang width-wise both at the tower and the base. 100 Wilshire, Santa Monica, California Ikwe Tower Also, I've been working on this concept tower I'm calling 'Ikwe Tower.' It's a tower based off of a Native American woman and would be located in my reservation 'Sagkeeng First Nation.' The tower is 308 meters (1,010.5 ft.) tall and 70 stories. I'm no engineer, but I've just been guessing what the structure would look like. This building makes use of walking columns. The building serves as: 600-800 Residences Indigenous-themed Hotel Museum of Indigenous Peoples Convention Center IMAX Theater Underground retail mall Restaurant/Cafes Hydroponics, aquaponics; and Tourist attraction. First I started with a shape, then I created the floors and now I'm creating the superstructure. Once the superstructure is complete, I'll move onto the façade and model out all the windows. After that, the greenery, blinds, LED details and textures can be added. Anyway, when it's time I'll probably release a bunch of buildings at the same time again. Prob around Christmas or so, I reckon lol

You know I keep getting Tiktok videos of Cities Skylines and SimCity players? The fanbase is huge and active! I think with gaming we've seen an evolution over the years. From multiplayer, to multiplayer online, to short battle royal games to multi-day strategy coop games. Today you can play SimCity on your phone and participate in online multiplayer city wars and events that are already several days long. Having a metaverse version of this that is moddable and the pure passion of city-building is what would keep custom digital content coming and even monetizable. I think if we had a fresh start, I'm sure even the great modders from the NAM Team could do so much more starting from a fresh coding pallete. For me personally, I love creating BATs more than I like using them in the game. But once I get it in the game, I find it pretty cool. But I wish there were real-time reflections and more realistic curves/diagonals in SimCity 4. Having easier modding tools and 3d modelling-importing ability into a metaverse city building game would be awesome. Also, I got my computer back:

Hey guys, thanks for the comments! In true typical fashion my laptop has broke once again just as I get back to batting. Its in the shop and it's getting a new motherboard. I have the files backed up because this ain't my first rodeo. Anyway, does anyone see the SimCity Community making a city-building metaverse anytime soon? Imagine if we built a metaverse that replicated the real world land geography and an indie-built tile game (similar to SimCity 4) that could build on it? Using NFTs we could ensure no duplicates are made and that tech would even be applicable to BATS. BATs, in a new format and not to be connected in anyway with the Maxis/EA/SimCity brands, would become monetizable, limited and just plain free to distribute to users who wish to build their cities in this city-building metaverse. This city-building metaverse would be incredible watching thousands of cities being built. Meta-cities in their respective meta-countries would have their plug-ins and collective economic conditions. So if a group of great mayors make the majority of meta-cities in a country prosper, the entire meta-country's economic conditions also improve. And of course at anytime, you are welcome to sell your meta-city and the NFT BATS in it if you wish. Since SaaS is for sure here to stay, I'm also sure making Autocad/3dsmax accessible to BAT creators of this new meta world and even providing royalties from this NFT Building marketplace would be of interest to them. What do you guys think? PS; Wouldn't it be funny if the team at SimCity were working on this? People-built/improved games often do so much better than corporate ones. Contributors usually don't have deadlines whereas employees usually do and I think that's what makes this project differ from anything SimCity maybe working on next. I think a 'hook for a game like this that we haven't really seen with others game is that there are multiple people building in the same meta-country as you. Mayors can have votes in their meta-countries for mega projects like infrastructure. These votes would based on the adult population of their meta-cities and with the mayoral approval rating affecting how many of those citizens side with you would determine your power among the other mayor's in your respective meta-country. This incentivizes a lot of citizens and for mayors to ensure their digital citizens remain happy. We would see big influential, but poor cities as well as tiny, rich meta-countries. And the game would go on forever. As cities evolve in real time, so would the BAT additions, changes to the game, etc. So much is possible! I'd like to build a city-building game in its own metaverse! Question is tho: to tile? or not to tile? I say tile the world!

This is just my personal opinion, but Simtropolis should remove the "like" button for posts. It reduces discussion and makes entire forums absolutely dead. Much of the time it's just the creator posting by themselves getting likes with little-to-no comments.
Just because it's convenient or it statistically improved interaction doesn't mean it promotes the health and growth of forums and discussion.
This is a forum, not Facebook. If I personally wanted a social media account, I'd create a Facebook account and encourage you to all add me because that platform is actually more functional than Simtropolis if "likes" is what I am trying to achieve.
Because of this, I often forego posting progress because who cares about the 8-10 likes I'll get? This contributes towards the death of the forums in my opinion.
Anyway, I won't be updating my thread anymore. It's not worth my time. I'll just post a file whenever it's ready. #DyingSimtropolis

Maybe if you post it on Show Us What You're Working On, you'll get a little more feedback.

Always enjoyed seeing your updates, you're very talented and I especially appreciate all the Toronto and Canadian content.

I agree too, even if I'm guilty of 'liking' lots of things, because most of the time I'm on ST is on short bursts of free time, not enough to write a comment. I guess is something that could be discussed further.

FILE REINSTATED JAN 2021 THANKS TO NUMEROUS REQUESTS BY THE STEX COMMUNITY AND SPECIAL THANKS TO MATIAS93 FOR BRINGING BACK THIS FILE! ENJOY! Hey everyone! After 2 years of deciding the facade of this structure I've finally decided to keep it like this! This boxy structure was known as "Glesias Square" with tacky black grey glass, then became known as "Carmine Hilton Plaza" with blue green squared 90's looking glass... the structure finally under went a third and final makeover and is now known as the Linda Swampy Medical Centre! So with that being said... I am pleased to present to you the Linda Swampy Medical Centre! There are 3 lots that will define the structure... 1) Hospital Medical Centre! 2) High-tech Growable 3) & Last but not least... a high-tech ploppable known as Linda Swampy Pharmaceuticals! 4x4 Lot with no dependencies! What more can I say? (: Download the MAXIS NIGHT file if you do not have SimFox's Darknight installed in your plugins! Download the DARK NIGHT file if you have Dark Night installed! For more upcoming projects visit my thread! (: -
New quick 2x3 residential tower on the way. Daytime already complete, just need night lights. I also may build some stuff for the dam I have built there. I started a mountainous region and I feel like a dwarf from LOTR trying to conquer the slopes. FYI: Due to my lost data, I do not have the Linda Swampy Medical Center anymore. If anyone wants to provide a copy or upload it to STEX themselves please feel free to do so! You have full permission. I would even like a copy! Lmao! - K

So, I recently visited Apple Park in Cupertino, CA and let's just say I immediately got inspired! Can someone help me LOT this thing? I'm still adding detail but the building needs to be split down in half to accommodate the 64 FSH files limit per view. I've never split a building like this before and plus this lot is really massive. I won't be rendering in the trees with it. The LODs are a "C" shape to be rendered in two separate models. I'll need someone to mod the lots and stitch these two pieces together while also adding some beautiful trees from @Girafe into the mix as well as the normal props. I'm aware there are other buildings on this complex, but for now I think I will just focus on the main Apple Campus 2 building. I want to complete this one asap. 12,000 High-tech sim jobs will be created by this thing in a 32x32 lot (if that's even possible). Please let me know if you're interested in modding/lotting this lot (because I don't know how lol). - K

Sorry for being absent. My computer was getting repaired and then I got very busy. Here's some minor progress! Still a lot of work that needs to be fixed. When this was imported, it retriangulated and it's been difficult to texture. So, I've been cracking at it bit by bit.

poll Which kind of SimCity 4 player are you?
kellydale2003 replied to Lucario Boricua's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I'm more of a "Progressive Player" meaning I start out basic by plopping out farms randomly even if the roads don't align and then I have houses slowly eat up all the farm space. I then upgrade the streets into roads, into avenues and sometimes into freeways as the houses get replaced with higher density and eventually some skyscrapers (wherever they can economically be plopped). I do this while going through the building styles one by one. I start with the old and progress into the new. When I say economically, I mean no tearing down a skyscraper to build a skyscraper. That's rare. I find the lowest density plot of land or tear down an older building to replace it with a taller more modern one like a real developer would do. I also take into consideration city politics in real life like how there's movements and organizations to save historic buildings. So, when a historic district is crowded with historic buildings, its only logical that a developer who wants to build a skyscraper will move slightly outside of the historic downtown district or where there's more traffic, a better view, better infrastructure, etc. When a tower gets built, more developers are likely to build around that same tower. I also avoid destroying buildings as much as possible. Doing this while aligning all the roads, avenues and freeways and growing skyscrapers is a challenge. Rather than designing a freeway without constraint, you're designing a freeway in the cheapest and least interrupted way possible -- just like real life city planners do. The result is usually a semi-chaotic city that is realistic in so many ways. This wasn't an option when I voted, so I just voted "other." It takes me forever to build a city, but the constant replacement, recycling and re-organization of plots of land within a city make it feel realistic rather than just laying down roads and watching everything grow into skyscrapers instantly. There's so much more to city building than just that. There's decades of history in between and my 'progressive' way of playing embodies those old histories that define a city.- 33 Replies
