First off I just want to thank everyone that viewed, commented, rated and +1'd the last entry. I was rather overwhelmed with how well it was recieved to be honest, so thanks Replies I was trying to quote everyone, but it won't let me do that, so if I haven't quoted you don't worry about it. -later- And now there are to many emoticons, I may have to change how I do replies I think. @sHnozZa Thanks, I enjoy building them, previously only middle class areas but over time I have come to enjoy building practically any type/wealth of housing. @dubaidude303 : Thanks for the comment, I intend to. @MamaLuigi945 Cheers, and thanks for the comment, you must have commented on nearly every single update so thank you for that. As for the road networks, I like to mix things up a bit, one day I'll get the hang of the RHW @10000000000000 I changed the name from The Spire because that was the previous city I was working on, The Spire is now essentially finished and as The Spire was just one city in the region it didn't make sense to keep the same name. However the region doesn't yet have a name really, so the CJ name reflects the city I am working on most currently, which is by far Spedbury @Keder : Thanks @Hazani Pratama : The people living in the slum areas don't think so, but as far as urban decay goes it has a certain aesthetic quality Thanks for the comment. @Aaron Graham : Thanks Aaron, but none of this would be possible without people such as yourself making content for people to use, so you have my thanks. There probably isn't quite so much of your content in this update, you should BAT some industrials to remedy that @greenbearcub That is the TSC Ecological Building, you can find it here - @Jetty Jockey Thanks for the comment, I'm going for the green but urban look and I think I have succeeded, besides people aren't robots, they need room to breathe. I'm not happy with my park creating skills yet though. @Zulu2065 : Thanks Zulu @Jamonbread : Thanks for the comment @newyorka : Thanks, however you'll need to be a bit more specific in regards to housing, I have many many plugins. The marina/dock can be found here - http://www.simpeg.co...ownloads;cat=35 you'll need to register to download. @Markus J The region has been in the works since 2010, hence the quality of the region varies alot, currently the regional population is 25,645,000 approx. Spedbury has 277,000 at the time of writing this. The city is probably around 60% finished, I still have a lot of land to build on @david030400 : Nah, nothing is perfect, but thanks anyway @aparrot7 : Thanks, I'm glad you like the style @emogreen07 : I wouldn't have said it was "planned" I have an idea of what I want to do but its pretty spontaneous really, I don't plan out any networks beforehand I just go with the flow, though this does have its drawbacks, sometimes I have to delete a lot of stuff because I can't fit in what I wanted to fit in, anyway, thank you for the comment @jc joopy : Where did I find the first one? I'm not quite sure what you mean, if you tell me which pic it's in then I can give you the link. The big factory can be found here - http://sc4devotion.c...php?lotGET=2578, thanks for the comment @city89 : Sure, you can find that here - http://sc4devotion.c...php?lotGET=2578 @Cobra_nVidia : Thanks, I certainly wouldn't mind living here, on the nice side of course @SimGuy23 I go on and off Simcity myself rather often, I think most of us do, and like you, I usually pick it back up when I see something impressive in CJ's or "show us your" threads. So I'm glad my CJ was that spark, thanks for the comment @SimCitySuperFan : Thanks, I upload them on an external image hosting website, in my case thats http://photobucket.com/, then you link the pictures directly into the CJ. @paulvmontfort I'm sure I won't be the only one, they're very nice buildings and the lotting by T Wrecks is also top notch. They fit so well into that pocket of affluence that I couldn't not use them, was a little problematic to grow though, thanks for the comment @Lloyd0728 : I wouldn't worry about it to much, it takes time to learn how all the custom content fits together, what goes with what, and with more coming out all the time it's a constant learning experience, thanks for the comment @Benedict Thanks, made for a nice little suprise after the hassle of moving house @grstudios Thanks, SC4 bugs, not so much. SC4 Crashes? To many to count Update A rather large update today, so apologies if you don't have much bandwidth. The plan was to alternate the type of area shown each update, but as with many things the reality is a little different. I kept running out of ideas and going back to the "nicer" areas, and as such this update is really 50/50. So I suppose it has something for everyone. I've also experimented with an older area of buildings, and while I like it I'm not sure I will actually keep it. Anyway, less talk and more pictures I think, as always click the pictures for full 1680x1050 resolution. We'll start in the poorer districts, this council goods depo was recently constructed on land previously occupied with an old factory, which arsonists burnt down. Some of the surrounding housing projects, including the massive Ashbury house, constructed in 1973 to house 4,800 people. The area is dominated by a huge ironworks and ore processing facility, the blast furnaces burn 24/7 and the twin chimmneys have become local landmarks. This once busy motorway seperates the housing areas of Northolt from the heavy industry of Workington. In some places old factorys have remained standing, and are now surrounded with low quality housing. More heavy industry lies on the other side of the A556. A few overviews of the main industrial areas and housing projects. The huge VW car factory and Blenish freight yard. The previous main street of this neighbourhood can be seen to the upper side of the 60's concrete dual carriageway. Now we come to the dividing line, stepping accross the railway line is like entering a different city (Well okay, driving or walking under) This area known as Fitz-Bellgrovia is the old merchants quarters, the old houses were recently done up and now fetch a pretty price on the housing market, the large imperial-era buildings also underwent extensive sandblasting and renovation. We're now heading into the commercial heart of the city, which is charmingly located along the old canals. In the last few years extensive traffic free cycleways have also been constructed along the canals. In some places the old high street remains, though with some additions usually. This large shopping centre is situated on the outskirts of the commercial area and is popular enough to have its own purpose built rail station. And lastly some middle class suburbia with a well performing school. EDIT: I've done it again, I was sure I had uploaded this image, but I guess not. It shows in greater detail the partially sunken railway junction I mentioned in the comments. Anyway, I hope you've enjoyed this update, please comment, criticise and +1 as you see fit

I'm not buying this game either, instead I'll buy the new Cities in Motion 2 what comes out next year. I went to their forum to find out about the game and heard it would include multiplayer, I had visions of on-line only, so I asked them not to make the same mistake as EA. They said that multiplayer is an option only and the game will be off-line. Smart thinking.

Electronic Arts' games label boss Frank Gibeau has revealed that he's not let any solely single-player games pass through his gates, ensuring that absolutely every single title the company publishes has an online component I gues this is why our beloved SINGLEPLAYER has gone Multiplayer

@Zodicus: Why thank you! *blushes* I have seen some of your work around these boards and you are very talented yourself. @Haljackey: I have taken the idea you have shown in your post and re-designed the basket weave. It takes up the same width as my old design, but less length. Here it is:

Sean Connery said he'd never play James Bond again after Diamonds are Forever....in 1983 his wife gave the title to a new James Bond film that he starred in: Never Say Never Again. Honestly, I don't see how EA could pull off porting Sim City to consoles, I played SC2K on the PS1 and it was clunky, let alone a mobile device. Again, so many people wished for SC4 to have an online component and now everyone whines about it being online? What's the big deal? Now I could see if everyone was still on AOL where it's X number of hours a month whining about being online to play, or for people from Australia where--from what my former girlfriend told me--their internet still has a download/upload limit on it. but people in America where most anyone who has a computer is online nowadays and even Great Aunt Sadie has a Facebook, Twitter, and sends lolcat pictures to all her Farmville friends. an online COMPONENT!!! and even THAT was low on the list of priorities for what anyone wanted. NO ONE wanted online-only. And I don't know about Sean Connery but when I say never, I mean never.

EA and Maxis believe the majority of fans even not wanting online mode in the new SimCity (2013), we'll buy the game anyway. Most SimCity fans have to say clearly that we will not buy the SC2013 if it has only online mode. Because they (EA and Maxis) aren't crazy to lose the money invested. Without offline mode, without purchase.

Meanwhile, at the Feline Commerce Bank headquarters in downtown Simtropolis, bank officials were given exciting news regarding feline money. The news from the treasury was indeed good. And shipments of the new money shown below start today. The bank tellers were already busy picking out their favorites from the new collection. Do you have a favorite?

I was able to play SimCity and speak with Community Manager Michael quite a bit, at PAX. Here are some impressions of the game and some information I received from Michael. I played the Pre-Alpha software version of the game twice at PAX. Once on Friday and once on Sunday. On the Friday play, I just followed along with the tutorial and found the game to be pretty enjoyable. For pre-alpha software, the game looks pretty good. A lot of features are ocked down, but you can see some of what they are planning. For instance, when trying to put down a school, I soon found that the schools were locked. There's a check list of things you need to do before a school can be placed, including reaching a population threshold and upgrading the town-hall to a city-hall (or something like that). When I clicked on the town-hall to look for an upgrade button, it wasn't available. When I went back to the schools screen, I noticed (and I think they should make this more obvious) that there were different categories you could select (standard and higher education). When I clicked on higher education, the community college was available, so I went ahead and placed that. Playing with roads was pretty enjoyable. The game lays out snappable line guides to aid in creating straight and curved streets. The roads issue became frustrating when you play near the freeway that goes between cities. In the pre-alpha software your connection point to the highway is pre-determined, which means if you are planning a city, you can't just put your main arterial anywhere. Additionally, it's quite annoying to be able to build so close to the freeway without being able to make arbitrary connections to it, or run roads under it to develop on the other side. In fact, the edge of the city really kept pulling me out of the immersive experience. Unlike in SC 4, where the boundary is clearly defined and your brain doesn't try to do things outside of the zone, in the new SC the boundary is non-obvious (slight coloration change), and you find yourself running into the glass walls. I really found the road system to be simultaneously the most interesting and most frustrating part of the game. I'm sure they'll keep working on it, and I hope they take these notes into consideration. I also noticed, and it was with some releif to see, that the tilt-shift is less pronounced (almost unnoticable) when you zoom all the way out. When you zoom in, it can be quite annoying, and I still hope there's an option to turn that off. Largely, though, I think it won't affect the way I play the game. The game feels very much like playing a SimCity, and while they have UI issues and features that need to be completed, it's definitely SimCity when you're laying out zones and plopping city services. On the Sunday play, I skipped right over the tutorial and started looking around at different options. I asked where the RCI indicator was, and apparently it didn't make it into the Alpha build, but it will be available. I played with the data layers available with a variety of buildings, like water towers, sewage plants, fire departments, police, power, etc. The layers are very satisfying and really just felt like an update of the SC4 data layers. I liked the look and feel of them considerably. I put down a shuttle bus depot, which didn't really seem to do much. I think it was still under development. I tried to grow the city as well, but without an RCI indicator, it was hard to feel very driven to do that, or know what was needed. My main queues were from businesses complaining about a lack of citizens, and citizens complaining their relatives couldn't move in. None of my play time involved resource gathering or sharing on the open market, and so it felt very much like a SimCity game. The Sunday play just confirmed that it can be fun to play and feel like a SimCity game, but it has a long ways to go before it's done. I talked at length with Michael about my concerns; probably monopolizing 45 or more minutes of his time. Michael's a genuine and authentic person who really cares about SimCity and is truly excited about it. He has a lot of energy and will talk your ear off, which helps when your waiting for someone to finish the 20 minute demo so you can have a turn. My main concern was about SimCity being online, and not being able to ever play a single player game the way I want to. The fact that this new release turns the game into SimCity + ResourceTycoon instead of just SimCity, and that I find that unpallatable. My basic scenario is playing a region solo and exhausting the coal supply. At that moment in thier current vision of the game, I'm forced to do one of two things: a) buy from the market, which means my game is no longer uninfluenced by others, or b) switch to another power source. Option a is just attrocious to me, and option b is really a departure for the series. SimCity has never been about limiting your play choices, and here, because of the market, people dedicated to playing on their own will be locked out of a game option once their coal is depleted. Michael didn't really have a solution to this scenario that I found acceptable. It was either maybe you'll enjoy trading with people once you try it, or that running out of coal is a realistic situation. I also brought up my concerns about being reliant on EA servers, especially with their stated policy of shutting down servers when they are at 1% of peak usage. Michaels answer to this was that they are committed to the game and will be around for a long while. That SimCity is the groundwork like the first release of SC4 was groundwork, and they will be adding more and adding mods down the line. The game is going to have support for the forseable future. That's nice to hear, but it's basically just promises, and while I trust and believe in everyone at Maxis, EA is their keeper and if EA decides to shut down the servers, there won't be much Maxis can do about it. My other concern was that I had yet to see a city with a river running through it. Michael confirmed that they were already in the game, as are bridges, and all the things you'd expect with rivers. This led to a conversation about terrain. The guys at Maxis are working really hard to make sure that there will be a ton of variety of terrain available at launch. This is quite satisfactory to me, as I never really used terraforming in SC4. If there's sufficient variability in what's offered out of the gate, it's unlikely I'll miss terraforming at all. At this point my recommendation is, if you don't have concerns about online play or don't feel that resource management is going to detract from your enjoyment of a city builder, then you should get the game. It is SimCity, and it is fun, and I think it will only get better by release. For my part, I just cannot see myself paying full price for the game with the online issues I stated above. I look forward to the Beta, staying open minded, and hoping they can change my mind, but as it stands now, I'll get it on sale at around the 10 dollar price point, whether that's in 6 months or 3 years is of little consequence. I've waited 10 years for the sequel of my dreams, and I may have to wait another 10. Edit: Removed USGS thing entirely. It kept confusing people. There is no terraforming, period.

We Canadians have to deal with bandwidth limits. I cannot afford to have a game that must be online-only, especially if that game can easily be made with a 100% offline single player mode. EA, let me tell you this. You will regret your action. You are only digging your grave deeper and deeper with this online-only thing. I will spend my money on a city simulator game developed by a company that truly cares about its fanbase. We loyal SimCity fans shall ring the death knell.

I run an empire that simultaneously warred against two nations at once, fought in in a war where an enemy couldn't be seen, and keep my own design business afloat, so this shouldn't be a problem at all. (I know it doesn't fit the criteria, but it was fun to say )

Downtown Hamilton, Iorio Something For Everyone Map of Downtown Hamilton Downtown Hamilton is bounded roughly by Interstate 70 to the west, Circus Street to the east, Lake Arruhu to the north, and 14th Street to the south. Interstate 70 has two downtown exits (West 6th Street and West 14th Street), providing access to Fort Hamilton Hospital and downtown attractions. Downtown Hamilton Skyline (so far...) Clarence III Field Built in 1999, Clarence III Field is the home of the AA-affiliate of the Nancyville Nancies baseball team, the Hamilton SeaHounds. The SeaHounds name is a homage to Hamilton's rich maritime past, as well as its' location on Lake Arruhu. Clarence III Field also hosts special events, such as some outdoor concerts. Volkswagen Arena Volkswagen Arena, completed in 2002, was built directly across East 6th Street from Clarence III Field as part of Hamilton's Sports & Entertainment District project. The arena was originally named Arruhu County Memorial Arena, but Volkswagen bought the naming rights to the arena in 2007 for an undisclosed price. Among the many events that play at VW Arena are concerts, monster truck shows, and WWE. Hamilton City Hall, and Old City Hall Hamilton City Hall (610 York Street) was built in 1969. Old City Hall, located directly behind New City Hall at West 7th and Queen Streets, was built in 1906 and is on the Iorio Register of Historic Places. After completion of Hamilton's new City Hall, Old City Hall fell into disrepair and sat vacant for many years. Finally, in 1994, the City of Hamilton completely renovated the building and today Old City Hall serves as an annex, housing some city offices. Hamilton News-Herald Buildiing Located at 601 Arruhu Street, the Art-Deco style Hamilton News-Herald Building is an icon of downtown Hamilton's skyline. The building, completed in 1924, serves as the publishing headquarters for the region's daily newspaper, the News-Herald and Sunday News-Herald. The building was partially damaged by fire in 1940 during the Hamilton Newsies Strike, and narrowly avoided major damage in 1981 during a major storm, which dumped nearly 12 inches of rain and flooded downtown Hamilton. Clarence III Bank Building, Emigrant Building, Bank of Iorio Building The 19-story, 275-foot Clarence III Bank Building, located at 400 Arruhu Street, is home of the Iorio headquarters of Nancyville-based Clarence III Bank. The building was completed in 1909 and was Hamilton's first high-rise office tower. Right next door, at 406-410 Arruhu, is the Emigrant Building, and across 5th Street is the Bank of Iorio Building. I'm not sure what my next update will consist of yet, as my style of city-building (and CJing) is "fly by the seat of my pants". Any comments, questions, or suggestions are MUCH appreciated. Thank you for visiting Historic Hamilton, Iorio!

So I tried the SKU2 update which was for Europe, South America and some other countries. Guess what, it worked!!! So to celebrate I bring you the first ever picture with working nightlights!!! Expect more night shots in the future! Hope you enjoyed this short update

We're now in the world renowned Berlin, capital city of the Federated Republic of Germany. It's a city that boasts history, elegance and world renowned landmarks, a city in itself which is full of such qualities. In this update, I'm going to take you on a tour to some of Berlin's local landmarks, most of which are of familiar sites to many. In this image, the prominent Fernsehturm Tower stands as a major landmark in Berlin City. A Television Tower in the approximate center of Berlin, built between 1965 and 1968 by the former German Democratic Republic Administration. It was built to be a standing symbol of the city of Berlin, and lives to that standard, even as of today. It stands at a height of 365 meters or 1,198 ft, and is Europe's fourth tallest free-standing structure. The Rotes Rathaus or Red City Hall is Berlin's, as stated, City Hall. It houses the office of the governing mayor of Berlin, as well as the Federal State of Berlin's Senate. The building was built between 1861 and 1869, and the name simply derived from the structural appearance of the hall. The Berliner Dom or Berlin Cathedral is the common substitution for its official name; the Supreme Parish and Collegiate Church. It is the parish church of the Evangelical congregation Gemeinde der Oberpfarr- und Domkirche zu Berlin. Though the building itself has never been able to be fully referred to as "Cathedral" as it has never housed a bishop. The building's sections were completed during 1451 (first building), ca. 1345 (2nd bldg), 1750 (3rd bldg), 1905 (4th bldg), 1993 reinaugurated after removal of war destructions. Berlin's Reichstag is home to Germany's Federal Parliament. It was officially opened 1894, housing the Reichstag until 1933 before it was severly damaged in a fire, allegedly caused by Communist Party affiliates. The structure was even more severely damaged, if not almost destroyed during World War II. Though the building was eventually refurbished by the 1960s onwards, leading to the current architectural design in which is partially modern and of an 19th century sense. The Berliner Dom from a different angle. The Zeughaus, Bertelsmann and the Kronprinzenpalais, across the river from the Berliner Dom. The Fernsehturm by night. The Rotes Rathaus by night. The Berliner Dom by night. ________________________________________________ Thanks for viewing! Done in Simcity 4 using Google Maps Data. Those who really live in Berlin, please give personal criticism on the pictures and accuracy of the locations! Oh, and for those wondering why I didn't do the Brandenburg Gate; it's because I can't log on to the official SC4 website (Sucks a lot) cause I lost my account for it about 5 years ago. If only there were other places to download it Watch out for the next update and location!

Society has always pondered tough, philosophical questions: Which came first, the chicken or the egg? Do dinosaurs really exist? If a tree falls in the forest, would anyone hear it (and moreover, would anyone care to pick it up?)? We here at Maxis, however, only care about one particularly chin-rubbing query: Can a city really be built on rock 'n' roll? Well, thanks to Associate Designer Chris Schmidt, it sounds like the answer to that question is an ear-splitting, “Yes!” Chris recently took his creativity to 11 when he built this guitar-shaped city (and accompanying amp) using SimCity’s new curvy road tool. Like we showcased with our past Cool Looking City, part of the fun of playing the new SimCity is not only building (or destroying) the city of your dreams, but also using the in-game tools to create fully functional metropolitan works of art. Of course, while this design may look rad, it certainly ain’t practical – since Chris built all of his commercial zoning up the “fret board” of the city, he ended up creating a massive traffic jam for all his Sims trying to visit stores and restaurants. But if you think about, traffic and rock 'n' roll concerts go bumper-to-bumper, so it almost makes sense. Almost. Do admire the creative touches, though, like the six water towers signifying each tuner. Pretty cool, eh? Because we think his city rocks, we spoke with Chris to find out more about it. Community Manager Michael Donahoe: What was the inspiration for building this city? Associate Designer Chris Schmidt: Well, our Producer Tyler Thompson told me I should try making some different city layouts, because classically with SimCity, I make a grid-based city since it is the most efficient. So I was thinking about weird ways to build a city and the Internet radio station I was listening to just so happened to put on Starship’s “We Built This City.” Next thing I knew, I was making a guitar-shaped city. [laughs] MD: Theoretically, what are the chances of us seeing a rock 'n' roll-themed restaurant and/or hotel appear in your city? CS: Actually, my city is more industrial, because I’m focusing more on mining and metals. MD: What kind of music do you think fits this city? CS: Since I was trying to design my city like a classic Fender Stratocaster, I’d say a little classic rock. Maybe a little bit of metal. MD: What’s next? A Drum City? Trombone City? Bagpipe City? CS: Really, I just focus on crazy designs. I did a zen city, which is a yin yang. I made a city out of the phrase “Curvy Roads,” just to see if I could make it work. I don’t know what’s next. Whatever inspires me. MD: Do tell us: Is this city really built on rock-n-roll? CS: Well, I do spend most of my time listening to classic rock while I’m playing, so perhaps it is!

Speaking as a fellow Canadian(hello from Edmonton Alberta!) I have to agree. I had a system crash and had to reload my computer from the OS up. Suddenly realized that while cloud saving is fine in theory it can be murder if most of your programs are on the cloud because the prefered method of delivery is digital. I hit my download limit in a DAY. The first day of the new month too so from 0 to maxed in less than 24 hours. Fortunatly I got an exception due to circustances from my provider.

EA is doing everything they can to destroy their IP. For what Maxis has been able to make on SC2013 is pretty impressive with the data layers and complexity. But I'm amazed how little they budge on community feedback. Perhaps they are limited in what they can do, trying to keep games "stupid" enough for the average consumer.. I don't know what makes them think your average gamer is ever going to be interested in SimCity, but either way, this trend of removing popular features in sequels to games is infuriating and I don't get it.

Several decades have passed since the founding of Squirrelton and through a bizarre series of scandals, seemingly perpetual confusion regarding voter I.D. laws, and the enactment of countless popular policies, Michael Nutter still holds the office of Mayor. Some believe this is evidence of Fortuna smiling on both Mayor Nutter and Squirrelton. Others believe it’s just smart governing, such Nutter’s push to repeal the much-detested Peanut Butter & Birdseed Tax. With the Pax Squirrelton, technology and innovation is flourishing along the western banks of the Bushy Tail River. Internet start-ups crop up daily. Popular websites include HowToAttractMiceToYourHome.com and Rodentropolis. Scientists recently have discovered a (previously only hypothetical) subatomic particle that behaves and appears very much like a squirrel. There was debate, however, as to whether the behavior would be described as squirrel-like or chipmunk-like. It was finally decided to name the particle the Squirrmunk boson. Will this discovery unite the Theory of General Hoarding with Quantum Scampering? It’s hard to say. The Squirrmunk boson only creates more questions about the universe. Below, resident astrophysicists have constructed an observatory and satellite dish to search for answers. Mayor Nutter felt acute agitation when the first new constellation cataloged was not named after him but kept the feeling to himself. Along the river, heavy fog has become a frequent problem. “High pressure system coming in from the coast is causing a disturbance in the upper atmosphere” has become a favorite phrase of the town old timers like Old Craftsman PJ. When not musing on the weather, PJ spends his time perfecting the plans of his Mystic Squirrel Portal. Seen below is an early version. With the contraption, he believes he can summon the temporal form of the star grouping of Sciurus. On sunnier days, scientists and artists alike enjoy spending time on the wilder parts of the riverbed, communing with nature and counting squirrels. ------------------- Credits: Mods are SimPeg (MTP, OWW, SPAM, Pond, Stream, Lighthouse, Rail Mod (lots and mayor-mode ploppables)), ALN Pasture Flora, Cycledogg trees, SFBT trees, NAM & SAM, Lowkee33’s Appalachian terrain, SHK HD Rock Mod, Riverside Beach Mod, Euro sidewalk texture mod. Welcome to another update of Holt District! In today's update we head into the region's largest city, Sherkston. It is a huge city, so touring it will take several updated over the next little while. Today's update focuses on some local landmarks just south of Downtown Sherkston (or also known as the Sherkston CBD.) Today's update is on the shorter side - and I apologize - but it is still an awesome one. We take a look at government landmarks, cultural and some areas which are just really well known. So let's continue! You may also notice a new look around here! The new banners are part of Project "UrbanGrunge" (phase 3 to be exact!) - a small plan to unify the look of the Holt District website, HD Twitter feed and Holt District updates. The Maps site was not included since it recently just went through a redesign a few weeks before this project. Though it may change down the line to match everything else. As a reminder, be sure to check out HDHIP - it is playing a HUGE part in the future of this CJ and the Holt District Region. Sherkston - The Capital of Orchidsen 7.1 | Like the entire region of Holt District, Sherkston is experiencing a large building boom. Several smaller homes around the busy avenue and existing condominum tower were torn-down in order to make way for more condominiums. Several building designs are being used here, and it is one of the few projects where 2 builders have come together for one project. *Click for full resolution! 7.2 |These condos will be expensive, sitting on prime real estate. They are a short walk to the downtown core, let alone a transit ride. They are also very close to the Toyota Centre, which is fuelling rumours one building may infact be both condos and a hotel - an area where Sherkston is currently lacking. *Click for full resolution! 7.3 | Like every city or town in Holt District, Sherkston does have its own small quirks or hidden gems. In Sherkston, it is the old wooden roller-coaster that sits across the street from the arena. Built in the 1930's, it still is fully functional to this day, and a ride only costs $4 - a bargain many say. *Click for full resolution! 7.4 |Of course, Sherkston isn't only just play. No, it is home to many political battles. As the title of this update suggest, Sherkston is the capital of Orchidsen, a name you should recognize from HDHIP. Orchidsen is the province which Holt District is in, and this is its Procincial Government Offices and Legislature. The large office tower houses the office of the ministries, of the Premier and of the various committees which are formed. The rounded, lower-roof portion of the building is the area for government staff to meet, have lunch (it is where the cafeteria is located) but most importantly it houses the legislature, where new laws and plans including HDHIP are debated between parties. Currently the Orchidsen Liberal Party holds a majority of seats, followed by the Progressive Orchidsen Party, and lastly the New Conservative Party. The next election will acrually be something that will be covered in this CJ - but the timeline is top-secret from you the readers, for now. *Click for full resolution! 7.5 |Often at night several lights are left on in the government building, either because janitors are cleaning, someone hasn't turned off their office lights or because someone is burning the midnight oil getting the new study ready for the legislature to soon consume... *Click for full resolution! 7.6 |Just east of the provincial capital complex is the "midtown" section of Sherkston. The area between the suburbs of both Sherkston and Manatee, this area is home to several low/mid-rise buildings, which employ many throughout the region. The area is said to contain some great shops with very friendly employees - though the service does come with a higher price tag on most items... *Click for full resolution! 7.7 |[Midtown starts getting higher the closer you get to the CBD. But if you think these are tall buildings... well you haven't seen anything yet! *Click for full resolution! That's all for today. I know the update was a bit shorter, but it still showed a lot. There is alot more to see of Sherkston, so we will likely be here again next update. And there may be some road construction going on... Next Update: We will likely once again find ourselves here in Sherkston. To CBD or not to the CBD... that is the question.

There are millions of folks right here in the United States of America who do not have access to the "unlimited" download/upload bandwidth that so many in large metropolitian areas take for granted.

Well, in the interest of merely repeating everything that has been said all ready, we'll close this. There are pinned topics to discus everything that has been mentioned. And there won't be a "ranting" topic. Discussion is what we like to encourage, and reading the site rules would help keep it at that..

http://www.gamespot.com/news/no-single-player-only-games-ea-labels-boss-6394663 "Frank Gibeau says all of company's titles must include online, social elements to reach consumers; cross-platform integration a focus." Well, I guess we can say for certain now that EA is the culprit. Sorry I have to take out my anger on Maxis and SimCity. I will simply never buy another EA game again. EVER!

I'm not sure it's fair to comment on this with pre-alpha software. As a software developer myself, I understand that in a pre-alpha state, you're just trying to get things up and running. I'm sure the guys at Maxis will make the final city size as big as is reasonable with the GlassBox engine, which they are still tweaking and optimizing. As the Beta nears close, if the city sizes are a concern, that will be the time to really raise the criticism. Hey Pat, I got your direct message as well. I'm not sure what you mean by tile sizes. If you mean lot sizes, there aren't tiles in the way there were in SC4. When you zone, it attempts to fill the space near the road, but it's variable based on the shape of the area.

ok, back to that blog post... i already know all the stuff that game is missing (highways, farms, offline etc) but im now worried that i didnt see ANY over or under passes for that roads, neither trains. Comm´on maxis, cant i build an elevated road over the avenue?

Can I just simply say, "Who cares?" You're in the wrong because you are commenting about something posted soooo long ago. And frankly it doesn't justify anything. You're talking about sarcasm that we all took as a joke a year ago in 2011. It's now 2012. We all knew his humorous sarcasm then and we know it now. No need to bump something because you were a little butthurt about absolutely nothing. Sorry if that's rude but it's my sense on it.

Hello Hello Hey guys! It's been so long since i last posted here, but i guess i finally made it. I know i didn't bat at all for the past few months or so, but most of the times i didnt feel like bating and other times i had no time at all. I could call that a break. But i am active again the last 2 months (i'm just to lazy to post feedback on threads ), and i have been working on my newest project, the Eldorado Apartments, upper west side of manhattan. I would like to bring you an amazing update on that but that would take a bit more time, and i can't wait anymore to post here. You can consider this as a ''i am not dead yet'' post instead of an update to my projects. So since it's been a while i will show renders of how my buildings look right now. 1065 Avenue of Americas: I haven't forgot that project actually, i started working on it by replacing all of my geometry with some new fresh more advanced polys, and when i was almost done i realised something was wrong, i don't even know how to explain it, but something was wrong with it. After spending so much time on it, i didn't feel like working on it again, i will get back to it in a few days, i just need to get over it, i am bored doing that all over . As you understand there is nothing new to it, but if you want to see that as it looks now, tell me to post the renders of it cause for some reason the old renders in the previous pages looks smaller, i don't know why :/ Harlem Apartments: Ofcourse i am planning on finishing those, easy and simple but beautiful. I dont have any updates on it right now thought. Eldorado Apartments: It takes me so long because it's quite complicated with bunch of details. What you will see isnt that much for 1 month of work or so, but it was the beggining where i always discovered new stuff and needed to change/remake bunch of stuff cause i didn't know the building that well. I know how it goes way better now so it should run smoother by now. Anyways here is what i got, i know it's not that much yet, and sorry for that: (BTW don't mind about the wall not having windows i just need to extrude them) South view: West View: 120 Wall Street: Will be probably my last recreation building. I will work on residential apartments, like the one Aaron works on. But i am planning on doing that. That's all from me, i will be back with a greater update on the apartments.

I can only imagine, how hard that'd be! Anyway here's my idea! I want to make a mini-mall. This will not consist of 4 story parkades, huge fountains and glass floors! This is a small indoor cargo area with about 450 Booths, that are for sale at $3500/mo It will bring in rural customers accumulating about 50 thousand dollars a year! **All businesses will have the right to give the community or New SorGun 15% or all earnings** Sorry for bad grammar, was in a rush!

Gn_leugim- That's very sweet of you to say, thank you. Ferrariguy1000- That's certainly an idea! What I'd give just to see that in real life when it happened! Thank you so much as well. To answer your question, the North Tower, or One World Trade Center had the TV Mast. I haven't started on the North Tower's roof yet. I'm all focused on the South Tower first but it will come soon enough. I haven't done much I guess, the roof still isn't done but it's getting there. The colors remind me of the World Trade Center in SimCity 3000. I miss those days. And of course I miss the real buildings themselves. Roof still needs some detailing but it's almost done.

This just screams "we have nothing else to show you" Yes the community wanted curvy roads, and we got them, but we also wanted everything else which makes a simcity game a simcity game, and those seem to be lacking. I maintain the new simcity is in fact sim village.

Polygamy has to be equal. That isn't a man with two wives. It's a man with two wives, each of home has a husband and a wife herself. Anything that takes control over humanity away from viginal 80 year old men who claim to speak for God is OK in my books.

Thanks guys, I'm glad you like it. @ darn42, these aren't old BATS on a HDD or something like that, I first start using GMAX in 2005 and have released about 150 BATS here and on the SC4 Devotion exhange (I still have many unreleased BATS for the SC4Devotion exchange, but I'm yet to write html readmes and making installers, images etc for those), but the ones relesed this last month on Simtropolis are all new. If you include props that are in packs, then there is probably someting like 300 models released in 7 years, so with that many models over so many years I should be quick by now
