  1. Prey Time

Prey Time It’s time to find some prey! Luckiy, the forests around Lake Felis provide plenty of prey for the feline population. Small game, like yummy chipmunks and such, along with big game, such as deer and moose (squirrel sold separately) as well as plenty of stinky fish give the obligate carnivores the snacks they need. To serve the itinerant population, there are hunting lodges scattered about as well as an inn and a stable. There’s even a catnip farm. Let’s explore the countryside… then maybe catch some dinner! For context, Lake Felis is the large, cat-shaped freshwater lake at the center of the country. These pictures of the countryside are courtesy of Age of Empires III. There's plenty of tasty prey in the forest, even along the main road out of town This deer is "sleeping..." This stable is a great gathering place for prey animals. You can ride them or chase them. Saddles sold separately... You can always spend the night or have a meal at the Dew Drop Inn, located at the base of Walton's Mountain Climb a tree for a better view! This feline chapel is open anytime you need to stop by Oh, deer! Found some nice weasels to pounce on too! The catnip farm is there in case you need something green The waters of Lake Felis are chock full of fish; the stinkiest kind that cats love. Tuna, salmon, sardine... it's all here! Hunting lodges dot the countryside and are a purr-fect place to take a nap after a long day of stalking, pouncing, and other feline activities. Each comes with plenty of windows to look out of! 2. Jamestowne

Chelonia: Jamestowne, A Modern Capital On the northern shore of Lake George, the first of the rebuilt cities grew. Prince Lincoln, an “ample” Ginger cat with the vision and determination the rebuilding needs, assumed leadership of the principality and established the new capital city of Jamestowne. In a break from tradition, he has chosen to live in a country estate outside of the capital. The other viceroy-level leaders all have in-town palaces. The biggest surprise is his decision regarding the thousands of motor vehicles left behind after Queensferry’s occupation force was driven out. Most of the country has banned them from general use due to the feline aversion to cars. Lincoln got the Supreme Wirdle’s blessing to try an experiment – allowing the vehicles to stay in Chelonia, with certain restrictions. He proposed to create a special division of the National Transit Office to supervise the vehicles’ introduction. The MTO, Motor Transport Office, has authorized limited use of cars in the streets of Chelonia subject to the following restrictions: the speed may not exceed 5 MPH, they may only be used in daytime hours, and all drivers must pass a competency test. Any rules violations will result in a minimum fine of being sprayed with water and chased. Repeat offenders will be banned from driving and chased up a tree. Prince Lincoln, shown above, got the first driver’s license. Jamestowne, viewed from the south, sits on the northern shore of Lake George. At the center is the government complex. Just north of Government House is War Memorial Plaza. A trail leads from the north side of the plaza up the ridge to the ruins of the region’s castle. Government House is a three-building complex to house the principality’s government as well as the Council of Lake George, regional Bureau of Feline Affairs office, and the city’s offices. It was rebuilt from the previous administrative complex and also comes with a nifty plaza with statues. Heroes’ Square, as the plaza is officially named, features statues of the two leaders of the liberation – Generals Tippi and Cecil. True heroes on the half shell! The busy port is the busiest on Lake George. Passengers and freight go back and forth between Jamestowne and St. George, Baconsborough, and Turtle Pond daily. The fishing fleet is based here, providing tasty salmon, tuna, and other stinky fish for discriminating feline palates. Fish and many other fine products are sold at Trotro Market, the largest commercial emporium on the lake. A trendy new restaurant is inside as well. There, you can pounce on your own prey and have it served fresh on a bed of catnip. Mmmmm, tasty! The Cathedral of St. James is on the waterfront, on the intersection of Main Street and West Street. Across West Street is the Hive Performing Arts Center (HPAC). HPAC hosts theatre productions, concerts, and currently features dancing honeybees. These are some of the stately homes on Cathead Terrace The residents on Edgehill Lane overlook, but do not look down upon, those living on Cathead Terrace. At the north end of town is War Memorial Plaza. It is the largest war memorial in the Lake George area. This area was the center of Queensferry’s scorched-earth withdrawal from the theater of operations. On the ridge just north of town, remnants of the council’s protective castle remains, preserved as a national historic park. It is accessed by a gravel path which begins by Memorial Church. War Memorial Plaza is the largest of its kind in Chelonia. The plaza features flags, memorials, and a central hall. On the northern side is Memorial Church and the path to the castle on the hill. All of these comprise Lake George National Historic Park. Some of the fallen are buried at Memorial Church as well. Many others are at National Cemetery, which is built on the largest peak in the region. The path to the castle starts here. The path is quite steep. But the views from the top are worth it! Here we are at the Castle on the Hill. 3. Schulmania

Welcome to Schulmania This thread is a continuation of the original Schulmania thread, found here . Limitations of the previous forum software have made the original thread unwieldy, so I am hoping that the new thread will be more responsive and have fewer page bugs. In addition, due to the thread size and its vulnerability to corruption, an external archive site has been established for Schulmania updates. Updates will be saved in PDF format and posted for review there. Because the forum software is not designed for the type of indexing I have tried to do with Schulmania's updates, the main index will now be hosted on the external archive site. That, coupled with reserving the first 20 posts in this thread, should help organize the thread better than the original version. Please check the links in the posts below to connect to all Schulmania content in both threads as well as the external site. SCHULMANIA VOLUME 1 Pages 1-268 This large region will eventually grow into a strong nation. Every story has a starting place. For Schulmania, it is the hilly, wooded island of Schulmanicus. In the region view, no other land can yet be seen – it has not been discovered yet. As the Schulminions venture outward, they will make many exciting discoveries – ones which expand their horizons and ones which will challenge their deepest beliefs and way of life. SCHULMANIA VOLUME 2 Pages 269-date Watch Schulmania double in size and then double again as brave explorers trek overland to the eastern shore and sail west to the mystical land of Tenne. Along the way, a variety of towns are established from one side of the nation to the other. Step by step, Schulmania is approaching its destiny; a destiny to be fulfilled in Volume 3. Nice area! I like the green spaces.
  6. Restoration

Restoration I’m baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! Where have I been? A combination of things put Schulmania on ice for a while. I had ever-increasing problems with prop poxes and CTDs. And in the old days, when images needed to be hosted offsite, my image hosting service wanted a small fortune for the CJ pics they hosted for me. Once that debacle was done and over with, many of the CJ pictures were permanently lost. The whole SC4 experience was falling apart… and then the CD quit working. I couldn’t even open it anymore. Fast forward to recent times… I got the bright idea of getting a new version of SC4 on Steam. One that actually opens! Once I did that, I brought over my STEX acquisitions and my regions. For the most part, things went pretty smoothly. I still have some assorted missing props and BATs and such; but nothing quite as bad as before. I may post some of those pictures to see if any of you sage and wise folks know what files I need to get a clean copy of to fix the issues shown. I know some of my stuff has been corrupted, and I still have some CTD issues, but I am actually back and able to do stuff again! WOO HOO! Some of my cities made the transition well. A few need some fixing… or lots of fixing! Let’s catch up a little bit… Queensferry: Let’s ascribe the various SC4 issues to unconventional cyber warfare by Queensferry. They are easy to blame! In case you were wondering about the war, it did end several years ago with the expulsion of the Buggs and their cronies. The Principality of Devonshire was almost completely destroyed in the process. With its leadership decimated, the territory, once liberated, was renamed the Principality of Chelonia, in honor of the alliance which helped to bring Queensferry down at last. Chelonia: The District of Devonshire and East Devonshire are now the Districts of West Chelonia and Schulmericho (named for the defensive fortifications which served as the crucial turning point in the war. The large island off the eastern coast is now known as New Apo Island and is a special economic zone for the nation. It is very modern, at least for Schulmania. Turtle Cat Alliance: Our military alliance with the Turtle Federation is what helped bring the war to an end. The Turtle Federation began in 2015 with the union of terrestrial, aquatic, and Ninja turtles under a single government. These heroes on the half shell sent two generals to help turn the tide. Gen. Tippi Turtle, known for his innovative, subversive tactics Gen. Cecil Turtle, known for overcoming tremendous odds The Turtle Cat Alliance has been around more than a decade and is still going strong. To honor this legacy, the new ruling house of Chelonia consists of tortoise shell cats and their consorts. At the moment, Princess Izzy is the ruler. The first few updates will show the reconstruction in liberated areas before venturing out into other parts of the country. Almost every town is new. Of the four settlements around Lake George, only St. George avoided complete destruction. The new capital of the region, built on the north shore of Lake George, is Jamestowne. Along the cratered south shore of the lake, Turtle Pond is a new settlement built around a pond made from a massive explosion during a battle. Each town has a war memorial; the largest of which is in Jamestowne. Welcome to Chelonia! 7. Greetings from River Junction

    I haven't thought about doing a SC4 Youtube, but that's actually a great idea!
  8. Restoration

Just to provide some context, this is the region map of most of the eastern part of Schulmania, showing where Chelonia fits amongst the other regions in the nation.

  11. I have gotta say, I have given CS2 a go and I have not been pleased. It's not really fun to play and there are way too many small details to ge a city up and running. Trying to get city services to work correctly is a full-time job in itself. Electricity and water won't get to zones with or without wires and pipes. How can a town of 10K have traffic jams on a 10 lane highway?! Why on earth would it take me to an underground view when I am trying to build a road?! I can't even see where it is going! Too much work and not enough fun. And it crashes a lot. It's been a disappointment. SC4 is still the gold standard for city building...
  12. Entry 81 -- Pratchit's Top and the village of Kingsley

I do enjoy well-designed and detailed landscape features. Good work!
  13. Penthesili waterfront redevelopment

    Impressive facilities!

    Nice beach town!
  15. Episode 26 – Corpus Bugaarium

So, this corpus wouldn't be from Queensferry, would it?!

    Delightfully frosty!
  17. 04 Advent

Advent It’s the holiday season. And, since 2020 has been, well… 2020, Santa is putting everyone on the nice list just for putting up with The Longest Year. Ponies for everyone! And, when you live on the small Planet B-612, the best place to get in the holiday spirit is the northern mountain town of Tillyland. Let’s see what festivities they have going on this year. Nothing says Christmas like a ride on the Griswold Family Holiday Train! It’s a family tradition. This year, Cousin Eddie is driving the train. Katzenzungen Market has a lovely outdoor skating area very festively decorated. Inside, you can warm up with Busscastle hot chocolates and katzenzungen. This year’s winner of the ice sculpting contest is Roscoe P. Coltrane III, who carved an enormous stag to put you in the holiday spirit. And also to remind you of who is eating your flowers in the garden. Neighborhood kids built a giant snowman. And I do mean giant! Anything to avoid reading that assignment for literature class! Santa’s Christmas Village is a hotbed of winter shopping. Lots of little shops, each staffed by elves who like to make toys and other stuff. It’s next door to Tillyland Arena, home to the planet’s only professional ice hockey team. The Ice Cats are hosting the Springfield Isotopes today. The Busscastle Chocolates holiday candy store is (conveniently) across the street, adjacent to Snackasaurus Rex, the snack food store. You probably heard of those hotels or restaurants or bars made of ice. Ice Capades Chalet is a full-service hotel made entirely of ice. It has several winter sports activities available on site. It’s cool fun that won’t melt your wallet! Tillyland always has a holiday tree out to make things more festive. And a tree farm so you can bring home the magic with you. Hurry! Buy now while selection is best. There is skating al fresco and don’t forget snowmobile rentals available if you like outdoor fun. If you skate as well as me, they have skates for rent with training wheels too! The area looks like a fun place to spend a cold winter’s night out. Be sure to take a lot of selfies by the Festivus Pole in the center of the skating rink! Need some more natural fun? You can always hang out with the polar bears at Gentle Ben’s Bear World. As you can see, Tillyland has just about everything you could want to get your holidays going… and a great way to kick 2020 to the curb!
  18. 02 Almanac

Almanac Planet B-612 Facts & Figures Flag and Coat of Arms: Diameter: 1,270 km Surface: 5,065,259 km2, 64.7% of which is covered by an equatorial ocean. Most land is in the northern continent. A southern polar continent is uninhabited, primarily due to the waters in the far south being the breeding ground for krakens. Squidward the Kraken got a boat Henry the Octopus got one too. Henry is of course a kraken, but he uses a clever friendly octopus disguise to sneak up on unsuspecting boats… Atmosphere: Nitrogen, oxygen, trace elements- primarily the aroma of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies Gravity: 0.97 atmosphere, due to the high density of the planet. The core and mantle contain large amounts of beskar and vibranium, allowing B-612 to have a similar gravity to its parent planet. Natural Satellites: B-612 has a dark matter moon 1.63 km in diameter. Technically known as B-612a, it is called the “Neon Moon” because of the dark matter’s influence on solar rays at night. The Neon Moon has two scientific outposts – Brooks Station and Dunn Station. More about the Neon Moon... Natural Resources & Economic Activity: Beskar and vibranium mining, farming (foodstuffs and roses), fishing, plastics recycling, textiles, tourism. Transportation: Airports: 1 - Saint-Exupéry International Airport Spaceports: 1 – Starbase Hornet Seaports: 3 – Little Princeville, Fox Run, Novo Timor Rail: 1 line - Little Princeville to Tillyland Monetary System: 100 renards = 1 rose. B-612 is part of the Feline Monetary Union, so coins are minted to FMU specifications and are convertible 1:1 with FMU states Schulmania and Harar. Government: Representative democracy. There are six districts on the planet. Strict urban planning requires very high population density, leaving over 80% of the land as natural areas or low intensity agriculture. Region 1: Little Princeville Region 2: Bharat Valley Region 3: Big Orange Desert Region 4: Novo Timor Region 5: Fox Run Region 6: Tillyland Capital: Little Princeville Population (Nov 2020 census): 4,514,124 Military: None. The local police have been called in multiple times to handle the threat caused by Queensferry launching genetically modified baobabs at B-612 in an attempt to destroy it and create a ring around its parent planet.

  23. Guatemala

Having been to Guatemala, I can say you captured its feel well! Great job!
  24. 04 Advent

I'd like a little mountain cabin too. We need to win the lottery so we can build out mountain estates!
  25. 03 Grand Strand

SCBI does its own thing as it is a very simple version - more game than simulator. But, it still has some of the quirky things we all like about SimCity... including Dr. Vu and llamas... but I do wish they had more fun names for stuff too. When I do these I like to make it a little more creative. I am glad you like it.
