@The British Sausage

That trail work looks pretty good -- getting the visual angles just right is the key. *:thumb:

I use the gridlines to build paths which hug contours and I use the actual mountain ridges to create ascent paths. The grid lines also help with adding S-bends to paths when it gets steeper, often a path will go straight up but I chose irregular s-bends to indicate steeper areas. Though the final product isn't what you see here- I've now added additional bushes, scrub areas, erratics and scree slopes (my work for today). The final touch will be to add some Sims and a sprinkle of flowers...

@11241036 it should be possible to replace the damaged FSH images with re-scaled images from the other zoom levels, but the results won't be perfect, because all the zoom levels have slightly different vision angles, as @rivit once demonstrated.

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

The cuckoo clock !

Wait... wait. Holy crud, it sure does look like you got a completely different version there! :O I guess the one you relotted is more recent. The HVACs are more finely textured, the light leaks at night have been fixed, and the Safeway logo and label are more closely matched to their real-life counterparts. Even the freestanding Safeway sign is different!

I must confess that what you see on my picture isn't entirely stock either - I did add a texture override to tone down the highlights and also took out a few notches of green to shift the overall colout hue closer to the game's palette. However, since all this is just an override, I can remove it any time and revert back to original.

Another modification I can't take back now is that I nudged the building a few metres to the side because it didn't sit centered in its LOD shell. By default, a 5 tile wide lot (the one I've shown is a 5 by 6) would not have been possible - the building box would've fit into the lot, but the building would have extended beyond the East edge. However, I do have both versions of the model still. If you're interested, just drop me a PM and I'll be happy to send it your way.

By the way, I should mention that you have been my inspiration to dig out a few of Bobbo662's old BATs and see what I can do with them. You drew my attention to many good BATs I didn't know anything about (especially in the Service Station Mega Pack), and you also motivated me to take a second look at some that I had discarded originally because they were too bright/saturated IMO and see if I coud do something with them. I also stole got a lot of inspiration from many of your lotting ideas. *:)

EDIT

My file is called "B62 1960s Safeway Retro v 1.3.0-0x5ad0e817_0xf00f7c4_0x1fc0000.SC4Model" and dates from August 22, 2005.

EDIT 2

Oh yes, my theory confirmed - I just downloaded your re-lot, and your building file is "b62 1960s Safeway Retro v 2.0-0x5ad0e817_0xb2a42fa9_0x30000.SC4Model" from January 2, 2007.

This is exciting news! *:golly:

Nope. You're free to do as you wish. I've pretty much finished my chapter of B62 content. Looking back through my records, the collection that I have put together on the STEX was pieced together with files from at least 6 people (myself included). I'm not surprised at all that there are more things floating around that I don't know about. You could be a 7th?

If I haven't already uploaded a relot with a specific model, consider it yours to do as you please.

Yep, that seemed to be a recurring issue. There's a handful that I can think of off the top of my head: Circuit City, Culver's, Kmart... As I mentioned, I haven't already uploaded a relot with a specific model, consider it yours to do as you please. If you think it would just be better for whatever reason to uploaded the modified model, go for it.

I'd love to keep posted on your progress. I'm not around here everyday like i used to, but I still like to check in.

I just made my first lot using diagonal parking lot textures... amidoinitrite?

I know it's not as great as some of the lots I have seen, but for a first attempt, I'm pretty satisfied. Massive shout-out to @shokthrpy and @kingofsimcity for the superb parking stuff, @CycleDogg for the diagonal cars, and of course @Bobbo662 for the BAT. I love retro stuff!

Good to see the relotting king back!
