Hello, I've been slowly learning NAM and getting better through the help of instructional videos. That being said, I am highly challenged by something that despite watching videos and searching for posts to help is vexing me a bit. I am having difficulty doing much with highway and ramps when it comes to dragging them where it is I want them to go. In the videos I've watched, it looks rather simple, yet when I try to do it, I get nowhere. I am versed with the TAB, CTRL, HOME, and END keys. I understand Starter Pieces. Once I lay down the type of Starter Piece, I want in the direction I want, my objective is to lay it in the direction I intend it to go. When I try to make a curve though, I get stuck just dragging it in the direction I want it to go to. Same with ramps. I thought it was supposed to be that I'd lay down a ramp piece wherever I wanted a ramp to go along my highway and continue on with the highway in the direction I wanted. Further, I thought once the ramp was skewed off from the highway that I could place my mouse at the end of the ramp and draw it through to wherever I wanted the ramp to connect to. I am having no luck even in getting the ramp to extend beyond the ramp piece I set down. At this point I'm convinced I don't understand what I'm doing at all with the real highway system. I want all sorts of highways. I want elevated ones, ground level ones, etc. I also feel I don't know how to properly cycle through elevation changes. In the videos I've watched you can see the meter height as you cycle through. I'm not seeing a meter reading at all. Again, at this point I just think I'm not getting the concepts laid out in the videos at all. Part of the problem is I feel the videos quickly mention a concept, followed quickly by the YouTuber moving their mouse quickly and saying something along the lines of, "See? You can do this!" Followed inevitably with them quickly bulldozing the whole thing. From my perspective it looks like it's supposed to be a pretty simple drop and drag process, but for me that doesn't seem to be the case. Could someone either list for me a video (or videos) where the concept is explained at a slower pace along with a thorough explanation of how to make highways and ramps do the things I've described I want them to do. Even if it's a different process than I currently might be misunderstanding; if the correct process could be explained in the video(s) I'd be much appreciative. Failing that, if anyone could plainly explain it to me in response to this, it would help a great deal. Right now, I'm feeling kind of dumb as everything else has come to me with little effort. Thank you in advance!

Hello all, me again for a quick question, how to get my NAM curved pieces to have pavement / sidewalks on them on not just grass? Looks wierd having buildings built around them with just grass. Many thanks, Jimmy.

Hi there! While playing in SimCity 4 Tram there is a detail that is not very good looking and not very good experience for Tram users. I'm talking about sharp curves. As a special petition to NAM developers, it would be nice to have the possibility to play the game with smoother curves for ElRail-Tram transition but not conditioned by an avenue or road below it, just as a single curve . I've seen that there are smoother curves made for Monorail as a NAM addition but no for Elrail. It would be fantastic to have that option. I'm open to help with it if is not necesary to model anythin, just isolating the already designed rails from the roads, avenues, etc. Look the image please. Thanks to @NAM Team for your time and amazing work.

Hello, I installed the NAM mod and so far I thought everything worked great but I think I have encountered an issue: If I place the Wide Radius Curves and then let houses grown near it, the road will not generate sidewalks. I thought I did everything correct when installing the mod because I did it step by step with a video tutorial that someone linked in a thread I posted a few days ago. Is there a way to solve this? It looks kinda weird because all other streets have sidewalks, only the pre-built curves I placed from the mod seem to miss these.

Hello, Are there fillers equivalent to Open Grass Area except they're for diagonals and curves? I sick viewing square parks on diagonals.- 1 Reply

I've been running into this issue for a while now where the draggable road curve has a broken tile. Here are some videos of the behavior: Speaking of draggable network tricks... WHY!? https://streamable.com/0uu1mz https://streamable.com/amisf3 This has been plaguing me. The ploppables in the curves menu are slightly different in degree and don't always work. I've been just smoothing half of the curve like at the 8 second mark in the first video, but a solution would be lovely. Edit: actually this should probably be in the NAM section.

I've been an avid SC4 player since the game came out and have used the BSC modular parks since about 2010. I haven't been able to find a set of diagonals or wide-radius curves for them like the ones that exist for the SFBT Parks; from what I can tell it was never decided to release a set of them and to leave it to individual users to mod them. I have no experience with modding and don't have a clue how I'd go about modifying the SFBT Park paths to share the texture I use (Deadwood's Angled Brick) for the BSC parks. Can anyone either point me in the right direction or share any modded sets they may have made?

How do I make curves for 6S highways and greater?
hershey95 posted a topic in NAM & Transit Networks
So I recently re-installed SC4 on Steam and very carefully downloaded several mods including NAM 36. Everything's been working great and it seems the only obstacle before me is this learning curve (no pun intended) in regards to the big daddy mod, the NAM. Just as I was getting cocky laying down ARDs and realistic avenues complete with smooth 90 degree curves (thanks btw to all you mod makers out there), I hit a huge roadblock. Trying to take advantage of these smooth 45 degree 8S curves specifically, I cannot seem to get this to complete into a full 90 degree curve. I lay down one piece but the second 45 won't really connect to form a 90. Or it does connect but leaves a big ol gap in the middle with two stubs on either side! Then I tried just laying the one piece down and laying down an 8S starter piece and tried to drag the end stub to the starter piece. Turns red! I'm out of ideas. Please help. -
Avenue/Highway Interchange Step-By-Step Tutorial - Pics
PaleoCardio posted a topic in NAM & Transit Networks
So as a beginner, working with the real highway (RHW) puzzle pieces can be pretty daunting, especially when trying to create interchanges. As a beginner myself I wanted to construct an Avenue/Real Highway interchange, but after a lot of trial and error was unsuccessful. That is, until I cracked it. This Avenue/Real Highway interchange tutorial is aimed at the novice SimCity player who wants to get into the RHW a little more and needs a step-by-step approach to creating a standard, but useful interchange. Warning: The following post contains a lot of pictures, but hopefully will be helpful. Step 1. Choose a real highway starter piece from the menu highway menu. I decided to use the 8S starter piece. Press tab to find the correct puzzle piece. You can use any of them, but I chose to use the 8S for this tutorial. Make sure that the yellow lines are in the middle (important for direction of traffic) and place on the ground. Using the RHW2 from the highway menu, drag through the starter pieces and elongate the highway to the desired length. This tutorial requires a bit of space, so drag at least 30 tiles or so. Now go to your hole digger lots (found under misc. transportation) and choose the 15m sunken hole digger lot. Place the digger with the arrow facing away from the highway, 4 tiles out, and repeat on the opposite side of the highway, opposite the other digger. Starting one tile towards the highway, drag a road through the digger lot for 10 tiles. Do the same on both sides. There should now be a sunken alley. Using the road piece, press individually to bring the sunken level of road to the same height. This should be 2x5 tiles facing away from the highway. Once level, bulldoze them. Next, remove a section of the highway in the middle of the sunken holes to leave space for the tunnel. Choose the avenue and then place it on the sloped terrain and drag to the opposite side. If done correctly, a tunnel will be formed. Then drag the end pieces of the avenue out at least 15 tiles or so. Then drag the highway back by using RHW2 to form the completed highway again. Now we have completed a sunken avenue under a highway and with the first stage complete we can now move onto the ramps. Using the RHW2, move 4 tiles along the highway from the middle of the avenue. Now we are going to create a ramp. This is a 3-step motion. 1. Drag out 1 tile, 2. Drag up 1 tile. 3. Drag outwards 2 tiles. This should build a B1 ramp. This ramp can also be found in the ramps puzzle pieces and just placed on the highway, but this is a great and fast way to place a ramp exactly where you want it. Next, click on the build highway and ramps button and then scroll down to the real highway wide radius smooth curve puzzle piece. Press tab until you get to the MIS-45 degree piece. The puzzle piece should be placed so it is 1 tile out and 1 tile down from the end of the ramp piece. Make sure that the yellow line is on the same side as the ramp and place on the ground. It is important to keep the yellow lines on the same side as each other at all times. Using tab, scroll through to the 90-degree smooth puzzle piece and orientate it with the yellow line on the same side as the 45-degree piece and place it 2 tiles down from the 45-degree piece. Next, go to your road/rural highway puzzle pieces. Press tab until you get to the Ave-4 type B1 entrance. Move over to the avenue and place it 6 tiles from the entrance of the tunnel. Using the RHW2 piece, drag from the ramp diagonally 2 tiles so it squares up to the 90-degree puzzle piece. Using the RHW2, drag from the now elongated avenue ramp to connect to the 90-degree puzzle piece. These should now connect. Now drag diagonally from the highway ramp to the top of the 45-degree puzzle piece and they should also connect. The final step is to use a filler piece (found under the highway icon). Make sure to orientate the yellow line the same as the other MIS pieces and connect the 45 degree puzzle piece to the 90 degree puzzle piece. Now you have a complete and finished loop. Go to the other side of the highway and repeat the process to create a secondary loop. Now the final stage is to connect the final 2 ramps to complete the interchange. Using the same technique earlier to create a ramp on the highway (drag out 1 tile, up 1 tile, out 2 tiles). 12 tiles from the middle of the tunnel create a B1 ramp. Drag the ramp at a diagonal using the RHW2 towards the avenue. Now go back to your road/rural highway puzzle piece and press tab to get to the Ave-4 type B1 puzzle piece. This should be placed at an angle so when placed it can be dragged diagonally to meet up with the highway ramp. In this instance it is 11 tiles from the entrance of the tunnel. Drag the ramps together to form a straight diagonal connection. Repeat the process on the other side, opposite the other curved interchange you made. There we go, hopefully now you have a completed Avenue/Highway interchange ready to be used. Edit 1 - as mentioned by @Jeffrey500, there are a couple of missing links that I discovered and moved further up the highway. These are an exit ramp in north moving traffic and an entrance ramp on south moving traffic. Here is a quick diagram to show how you could incorporate them to this interchange. Still learning- 20 Replies

It is the Chinese Harbin Opera. I wanted to upload a picture but there is something wrong with Photobucket (doesn't copy the URLs anymore ; UH ? ) I'll inquire ; meanwhile, you can see the pictures (and more than I would have posted) on the website. I am not a batlotter, so I have no idea if this is possible, but Inquiring Minds... etc.:-)

Hi there, Trylk255 here for a new project. I think it will highly interest a lot of players for Cities Skylines, even mappers than city builders to asset makers. So, what is this all again about ? It's about transportation system (rails, streets, etc.) who can be placed in map editor, assets editor and simulation mode ! Unfortunately there are no menu icons at the momment but they all have a preview. Now, if you saw the tags, there is the "themes" tag. But what does "themes" means right there ? It means "category", for example "highways" is a theme, or a category (call it whatever you want as long as you can understand it) Images time ! Yes, of course bro! Just look under the "Sources".
