Thank you, I found lots of good stuff in there, no specific answer to my question but I suspected it might have to do with the workforce-education thing so I started a new city and waited until the population was around 50k to build any schools and it seems pretty stable now (: I'm still going to seek a way to make redevelopment less common though. It seems like if only the game waited a bit longer before deciding to redevelop an area, the RCI demand wouldn't yo-yo so much. It gets annoying having to mark a bunch of buildings as historic when they develop in a configuration I like and it doesn't feel like cheating because they redevelop as the same wealth/density most of the time anyway.

Hello, I started playing SC3K again out of nostalgia. But I was never very good at it (too young when it came out) Is it normal that even my small cities have a really intense cycle of abandonment/redevelopment? The demand between Residential and Industrial will yo-yo, one will be sky high while the other goes negative, causing a cycle of entire neighborhoods' abandonment then rebuilding which is really annoying. I though it was because I zoned medium-density too early, but I tried it with a low-density only city and it still happened. I even let the simulation run for 100 years to see if it would eventually stabilize, and it never does :/ Does anyone know how I can get it to stop? One of the first mods I installed for SC4 is the "less abandonment mod", I don't care about realistic economies I just want pretty cities and so I hate to see a beautiful area develop then constantly get destroyed. Maybe there's something similar for this game? Thanks

I love how many mansard roofs you're adding to cities. we can never have enough : ) Also, do you have a thread or post anywhere about your work? I was wondering why your buildings look so crisp, it took me a while to realize they're fully 3D and that's so incredibly impressive!!!

Got a quick SC4 question?... Ask here!
rose replied to City_Slider's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
does anyone know why some custom buildings don't have a transition for dusk/dawn, but go straight to blue maxis night as soon as the sun starts to set? I don't have any night mods. I wonder if it's a bug with the game, or something with the buildings. -
amazing!!!! where did u get the magic trees? here's a small park I just made~

turns out the problem is that you have to click into the box with all the subfiles before the Save option becomes available. silly me. but it was successful creating the building, lot, and imported into the game the in-game model still looks wrong compared to the preview render so I'll have to get better at understanding Blender rendering and shaders etc.

this program is GREAT. thanks for allowing stupid questions in your dev thread i've reached nearly the endpoint where i'm adding the xml to the model file in Reader. i've edited the TGI of the undefined file based on the xml file name as instructed. the item becomes a UI file which crashes Reader when i click on it, and Save / Save As are greyed out. any advice?

This mod is amazing!!! Thank you for making it. I have a question, is it supposed to change the Rail textures from the default dirt? Mine stay the same Maxis texture no matter what options I choose, I want to make sure I'm not messing something up. The documentation about the dirt textures confused me.
