SimCity (2013) Official Mod Request Thread
SimmsCity replied to Cockatoo's topic in SimCity (2013) Modding - Open Discussion
Is it possible to make a mod for the roads, streets and avenues, like the N.A.M. of SimCity 4, to paint over them and widen to put more lanes after the clicker is released? Cause it if could it would make things so much eaiser than to destroy parts of sections just to have the ability to have more traffic on em. Also to have more mods available for those of us that don't have C.o.T, to be able to use. As most of the mods currently available are only C.o.T related and don't even pertain to regular, or vanilla version, as some call it. -
If you want some really great mods, my suggestion is to order the cd/dvd collections they have on here. There you will get some of the best downloads made. And you will have the time and patience needed for installing and not having to wait for all them downloads to finish. And also view some of the forums on how to structure your folders to add your plugins in, they are great and will add a a way for you to organize everything in it's proper place.

Project Akar : UI Enhancement Developement Thread
SimmsCity replied to Yayie's topic in SimCity (2013) Showcase
I was wondering if perhaps a change could be done to the UI for putting the buttons more to the left for some of us who can't use the higher resolutions, cause as of right now I don't see all the buttons for the ones on the far right are hiding behind other buttons. It would be very nice to be able to see all of em. For those of us who graphic cards can't handle the higher resolutions. Thank you. Oh yeah the mod is awesome, and works really great now that the R.C.I. are separated and have thier own buttons, loads much faster and are a breeze to use. And again thank you all for this wonderful creation.- 223 Replies

[UPDATED] (Offline Only) OmegaCo Factory Enhancement Pack
SimmsCity commented on CapTon's file in SC13 Game Mods
Usually dlc ep1 and simcity scripts go in simcity user data/packages folder, And the rest if not specifically implied go in the simcity data folder. Now if they don't work in the data folder then put them in simcity user data and if they still don't work then you've got something that's conflicting with them. -

Project Akar : UI Enhancement Developement Thread
SimmsCity replied to Yayie's topic in SimCity (2013) Showcase
I think the spoiler pic that Yayie posted on page 2 is actually nicely done. Everything is arranged in its perpective button, which will make the game allot easier to play, and not overload one certain button with tons of stuff in it. All the modders who have given thier time, energy and expertise in making mods for this game have done an excellent job, and have really made this game so much more fun to play. (Hope I said that right) And if you should decide on a UI the one on page 2 should be used. Thank you so very much to all the modders who have made this new SimCity allot more enjoyable.- 223 Replies

Mods only working in Sandbox mode.
SimmsCity replied to bunniemae1978's topic in SimCity (2013) Modding - Open Discussion
I have the simcity revision mod, and in the readme text it says that sometimes a mod won;t load due to not always does the game register the mods in the packages folder. He went on to say that the fix for that is to log out to the main menu and reload the city, or in rare cases log out of the game completely and log back in. Sometimes not only do you need the scripts file present in the packages folder but also the dlc ep1 of the same number also present for certain mods to actually work. And also sometimes you will get a mod that is one of an older patch update, or their script file is newer what you can do to make that mod work is to rename the file. I found out it helps. -
(Offline-Only) Roads With No Traffic Lights
SimmsCity commented on MaxvSk's file in SC13 Roads & Traffic
Just wanted to say, I went and tried your mod, and it works absolutely great!! Now I can design my city in any way I like, grids and all, like this simcity seems to prefer over anything else. Oh sweet, this mod does an awesome job at eliminating all gridlock and lets all traffic flow freely without the mess that usually comes when zoning medium and high density roads. thank you so much for making this awesome mod. Any possibility you can make one for pollution or maybe, something that tricks the things like trade and electronics into believing you're ready for the next upgrade. Lol but it would nice though. thanks again for the mod. -
Who uses money cheats/mods?
SimmsCity replied to SUPERniceTODAY's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
For the people having trouble with the moolah cheat dll, if you put it in both the programs folder and the my documents folder you will never have any more trouble using it. Correction programs in the plugins folder. -

I'm always on, I'll join you. Name on game is Mesmira317. -
You also missed Plug-in radical ordinance v. 2, which in my opinion works really good. It boosts CO and CS as well as Ind and farms, it doesn't do residential but just the fact that it boosts commercial makes the residential go up too. The other ones you posted work okay also but the demand cap can be to overwhelming for a starter city. Radical ordinance V. 2 keeps up the cap without overwhelming the demand to where one needs to be always zoning residential to much. Also your CBD will come out looking very eye pleasing if you also use the extra residential lot set and the extra commercial lot set.

I think this mod would be pretty awesome, as it would let the poor sims just "crossover" instead of driving all the way around and causing a headache in traffic for the rest of the drivers. Not to mention all the busses, schools, fire, police, clinic's everything car related, omg now that I think of it, it's a wonder how a city lets say the size of Manhattan, would really work in this game. Nightmare is the only word that comes to mind!!

Having a bit of trouble getting what I want.
SimmsCity replied to Moonfang's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Nope offline play hasn't changed anything at all, I think it made it harder to play cause now it seems no matter what layout I make for roads doesnt seem to add to the population as quick as it would being online. Took me like 6hrs. just to get to 35k, when online it would normally take like 45mins to reach that. I like offline mode and all, but it seems to take longer than what it used to take to get anything accomplished. -
Is this the reason for no growth even after doing all correct?
SimmsCity replied to greener07's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
No one mentioned anything about water, if there is no water then the higher population just won't be achieved no matter what he does to anything else. -
All you need is the landscape designer, a tool found here on simtropolis that lets you render greyscale maps and even create the configs for them. Or like the other guy said get the sc4mapper that lets u create the maps there and then without the need for rendering in game. Takes some time to get used to it but really saves you tons of trouble waiting in game while the map is being rendered.

SimmsCity commented on Kevin's article in SC4 Reference
Yes, thank you. It is very helpful to know where that code is, heck I didn't even know the manual had the code listed on the back, Lol.. But very helpful information.
