    Have you wanted an easy way to install Project Orion and all of the mods you need to effectively use it? Have you gotten frustrated trying to make the mods you've wanted since Day 1 work? I know I have! If you answered yes to one of those questions, you might be in for Orion's Belt, the new way to quickly set up your modded SimCity playing experience! Introduction Orion's Belt is an idea I came up with when observing people trying to install the group of mods related to bigger map sizes. for people had trouble with the idea of placing files into a folder. I knew I would get frustrated with trying to get into modded SimCity, so I thought I could do the community a justice and create a simple installer for the newcomers and mod enthusiasts alike. I've recently tried to make the modpack more and more foolproof against novices. Note: Scroll down to see how to install. Mods Included Project Orion by Xoxide, maintained by Yayie This provides the basic functionality of bigger map sizes; however, this mod only changes a handful of variables and it doesn't provide the end-all be-all solution for gameplay. UniDirectional Networks by Xoxide These are one way roads, something the community has been asking for from day one! Highways and one-way streets are included in UDoNs, and you can unleash your mechanical creativity with traffic rules Project Akar by Yayie This is a UI enhancement mod, and it adds some new menus to make space for many of the essential SimCity mods people use. Project Akar's AkarRoadSets by Yayie You can how build in the region with AkarRoadSets, since this mod is the foundation of building in the 4K terrain with flying colors. Project Akar's Project Avalon by Yayie This supplies the menu strucutres for the ploppable buildings which will allow you to develop RCI outside of the 2K city tile. Project Akar's All RCIHC Plop by Yayie, formerly Niclistin This gives the menu items for every building, whether it is a high-density, medium-wealth skyscraper or a low-density, high-wealth mansion in-game in the menus supplied by Avalon. Parklets by Yayie You have the ability to make miniature parks, i.e., parklets which act like normal parks, but fit into small places in your city, and add lots of decor and textures you probably haven't noticed before! Regional Bridges (and some tunnels) by HinataaHyuga With this mod, you can make regional street and avenue bridges outside the 2K city tile, along with extra rail and streetcar bridge and tunnels as well. Regional Street Tunnels by HinataaHyuga These tunnels allow you to build regular streets outside the 2K terrain, and the best part is there are some you can build underwater! Regional UDoN Bridge and Tunnel by HinataaHyuga You now have the ability to tunnel above and below the terrain with UDoNs! Go crazy with underground one-way roads and regional one-way bridges! Regional Coastline Roads by HinataaHyuga These roads are preset at 7 meters above the water and can be used in the ocean to make your cities, or on the coast for nice coastlines to show everyone! Regional UDoN Coastline Roads by HinataaHyuga These do exactly what the regular coastline roads do, except with UDoNs! One-way streets, highways, and ramps are available to use Pedestrian Path Regional Tunnels by HinataaHyuga With this mod, and Xoxide's Pedestrian Path mod, you can build tunnels to burrow beneath the surface with sidewalks! Coastline Pedestrian Paths by HinataaHyuga You can build sidewalks on the coastline to get your sims walking on beaches! Build amusement parks on the beach or ocean! Go wild with your imagination! Coastline and Waterway Tools by Xoxide You now have the ability to define where you can plop ferry terminals and anything that plops on the coast! Redraw the hidden roads ships travel upon and Pedestrian Paths by Xoxide You make make your own Central Park with this mod! Just drag a sidewalk or pedestrian path to make a concrete path sims can walk upon! Plop buildings to make walk-able shopping centers! Regional Bulldozer by Xoxide The Almighty Xoxide gave us a God tool like none other: a way to demolish the pre-made Maxis roads! Be careful with this one, for if you bulldoze hidden sinks which produce the agents on the regional freeway, you will crash the game. How to Use Properly After successfully installing the modpack, you must do four things in order to play. Open a city, save, quit the game, and re-open it. Use regional roads outside the 2K plot Understand that all 2K map resources are stretched out into the 4K map by a 2:1 ratio. Understand that All RCIHC Plop will not function unless if you save, quit, and restart the game. If you remember these things, you can avoid lots of frustration when playing with your massive 4K city tile. Just know that all of the space you can build on is always in the northwest to the original city plot. The new city tile boundary lines are wrong. Trust the camera when building. TL;DR: Follow the list, and know that if the camera can't move past a certain part of the map, you can't build there. How to Install You don't have to read this, but make sure to read the README. Windows users, please use the AUTOMATIC version. Mac users, please use the MANUAL version. Install AUTOMATIC by Launching "Orion's Belt v2.3.0 Installer.exe" Clicking "Next" until there is a place to put your SimCity install directory. Putting "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\SimCity" in the box. Clicking "Next" then wait for the files to be installed. Clicking "Next" until you can exit the installer. Install MANUAL by Extracting the .zip folder named, "Orion's Belt Manual Install" to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\SimCity OR Opening the .zip folder, "Orion's Belt Manual Install" Copying the folders "SimCity" and "SimCityUserData" to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\SimCity Acknowledgements I dually thank Yayie, Xoxide, HyugaHinataa, and all of the other contributors to SUGC and the mods they have produced.     Please take 5 minute read before downloading Akar, thank you. Akar is a mod that changes the UI (User interface) by adding new menu's as well as sub-menus. It provides a user friendly as well as keep everything organized, eliminate the cluttered and unorganized items. Current version works only in Offline mode. Akar is all around mod that holds every mods ever created to be implemented into the game. At this early stage, you may find mods conflicting between old and the new, we are working on that part for modders have to update their files. It is actually nothing to be concerned of but we are working on that said subject. Not Compatible with : • BoC • UDoN-Addon • Bridge and Tunnel mod Please Read "ReadMe" file in Akar and Avalon for LowRes and HighRes users. How to install? 1. Download all Rar files. 2. Right click the rar file > Extract 3. Please read "ReadMe" file before installing Akar or Avalon 4. Copy and paste the package file into your SimCityData folder. Currently, Akar has 7 new menus and 60 new Sub-menus including 2 Optional Sub-menus. This addition will allow modders to add their mods in its respective directory without flooding a singular menu, as for users are now pleased with the organized items rather than scouring through massive singular menu. Custom Content menu is available along Akar base file, It is empty till modders adds new content in it. Extended boundaries (Orion) is one part of a combination of mods that enhance the experience outside the 2k limits. Orion, regional roads, regional UdoNs and RCIHC Plop All (Residential Commercial Industrial Hotel and Custom Building Plop) are designed to extend the city experience by working together as a collective set of enhancements. RCIHC Plop All (Residential Commercial Industrial Hotel and Custom Building Plop) can work independently by allowing zone enhancement and even zone locking on its own but its ultimate purpose and enhancements was the combined use with the other mods to create an expand experience outside 2k limits. With all the mods for Orion installed such as Avalon, regional roads, regional UDoN etc, users may find their menu cluttered or lags. This is where Akar was born to create, to subcategories each mods that flooded the original menu. Akar is a child from Orion and Avalon itself.   5. I read that I must install 000_OFFLINE_DLC_UI_OBJECTS_SUGC_TEAM1_20140716_2_0_Akar before any other version, but I cannot find it. Help
  6. Hello, I'm really hoping you can help me with this one; I've installed Akar and some other mods yesterday, and did my best to check whether they are all compatible with each other. The game worked very well, and I was able to use all features as exspected. So I built a city using a mixture of normal and UDoN roads, saved the city and quit. When I resumed and loaded the game, (all) the streets had changed; a) they were rendered as they were regional roads; trees are standing right on the road etc. b) I cannot delete any road or build new roads on top of them, nor add new buildings on them. Although building new roads in general works. c) I can still delete the old buildings plopped at the streets. Again, this if for all types of roads. Also, resuming the savegame again, or starting a new City or region doesn't help either, the streets are corrupted afer the first time resuming the city. Has anybody else encountered the problem or knows a solution? I'll attach screens of my data folders. cheers and thanks Leo
  7. Hey, I've been having issues with Simcity Offline, lately. I installed a few Mods and my cities ran just fine. I had installed Orion 3k, Akar, Udon, etc... But, sometimes my game would freeze up. Then it started getting to a point where my cities would not load up or simcity wouldn't even open. I figured I had to uninstall a few Mods maybe. No change. In fact simcity wouldn't even open up. I had to uninstall and install it again. I figured it would not be a good idea to usa that many Mods then, so I installed the ones I most wanted (Orion, Udon, Akar). But no. Still had the same problem and I went on to uninstall/install the game a couple of times in order to keep playing with Mods, but no solution was met. I decided to simply install the game again and continue playing without mods. The game started up just fine, but I still can't load my old cities. I can however start a new region Online (haven't checked if offline, yet) and play just fine. But, I'm not interested in any way or form to play online. And I'm also not interested in playing Offline without the use of Mods. I've tried installing one Mod at a time to try and figure out which is causing problems, but once I install just ONE, the game crashes or won't even load. I'm running this on a 2010 Macbook Pro. Please, I need any help. Thanks.

    Hey guys This mod creates a new submenu for the EL Train mod done by oppie. The EL Train items that were originally in the MagLev submenu are now in this new submenu.   9. Hello everybody! I have the normal version of SimCity with Cities of Tommorow expansion pack. I'm playing in sandbox mode in offline mode. I made one city and I have extended it out of borders, because I wanted to try out the Orion mod. I made streetcar avenues and then I plopped streetcar stops and they worked just fine. Then I've decided to make another city in the same region and also in another region. I also extended it and laid some streetcar track and standalone streetcar track, but when i want to plop down a stop on them, it doesn't want to let me do it, it says something like ''You have to place it on a snap point''. I tried to restart the game, save, quit etc. but nothing has worked... Also, I can't plop any buildings, fire and police stations, garbage dumps, parks... I'm really asking you to help me, because I'm really frustrated Check out the attached pictures, my game is in Hungarian Thanks for your help!

    Homeless Tents Was originally part of the debug tools, it was bring back into the game with added features as a park for the homeless to take shelter. Tho, it may act as a park, it only attracts homeless people, aprrently, it still act as normal park. Users may use them for a campsite. How to install? 1. Download zip files. 2. This addition will allow modders to add their mods in its respective directory without flooding a singular menu, as for users are now pleased with the organized items rather than scouring through massive singular menu. Image two : New Sub Menus All RCI plop (Project Avalon) mod Solution. Credit to SethySquirrel for his image to be use in RCI plop New Custom Content Menu : This is where it is advisable for Modders to add new items that is not categorized in any of the in-game's directory into SimCity. Modders also able to add their own SubMenu, example such as "John Doe's Mod" or "The Simpson's Mod" or even "Gotham City Mod" etc All RCI plop wasn't crossed my mind when constructing this mod, it was intended to get Orion's regional roads, regional UDoN, UDoN, Service Roads as well as normal roads a bit organized. That is where the idea comes in, to make Akar as all around must have mod. Its not just for adding All RCI, it's also an influence for the modding community to continue create custom content and Akar has provided its place. For now, I didn't add All RCI properties in its respective directories mainly because still waiting for an advise from the original author. Will give an update on that soon. 4/7/2014 via email: All RCI plop has given a go ahead by NiclistinRedd . BoC intergration with Akar. Akar and BoC mod by Procskalone are totally two different interface. Therefore, you may choose only one. It is possible to add BoC in Akar, as above, will give an update on that soon. For Modders. How to add contents in Akar? Once you have your package ready, and wish to be added in one of Akar's menus/sub-menus. Go to your Menu2 property File and change the uiToolCategory's instanceID and replace them with any Akar's instanceID menus where you feel its a right place for your content.
