Hugington, City Of Oil, Year 2, Night at the Rig
Hello there. Now, I have never posted anything in my current CJ that is on night time, now, the time has come. None the better since a year ago. Wow, I wonder how does SOR maintain those flowers on the sign. Do they pay them or are they mutated? Probably both. I tell you, SOR does not like delays or loss of profit so they keep on pumping even if it is the middle of the night, pigs. Mindless blasting of the atmosphere... Palace of SOR Oil and company... Macroplaza somewhere North of Hugington. A bit touched by foul air. Nevertheless, people try their best to clean the air and a place for themselves. They even honor the creators of the Buildings. I leavee you with a dark glimpse of the future... Beware, next year... things might not be so nice... As always, LC - 4

Developement of New Hong Kong and New Yokohama
DEVELOPEMENT OF NEW HONG KONG AND NEW YOKOHAMA REPLIES AND INFO: janslaven: Thank you for the Ideas! I will definatly have a close up pic of each island soon... figgy: usfighter15: Thanks for the ideas! Just to let everyone know, I downloaded PEG's RES Replacement Mod, I know it looks odd, but I'm using it for my other Regions Well now, the next group to populate the Islands were the Japanese and Chinese. Here's a shot of their Islands: The Japanese have the Island on the left, the chinese on the right. The Japanese go to work right-a-way building A building for the richer citizens, and a medical clinic. The Japanese find another small pond near their setlement, and amazingly find a dead tree! This must mean that this area was once somewere above water, before the great earthquakes. The citizens decide to plant some crops their. In the next picture you can see that the have flatened some land. They just have to remove some rocks and start planting! And in this next image, They have planted some corn and wheat. Meanwhile, On the chinese side, here is a helicopters view of the settlement: One other thing that the Chinese do, is build some industrial buildings. they think it will give them an economic advantage in this new world. Do you think it can? Leave a comment in the comment section below: Well that's all for this update! I hope you enjoyed it, And if you have any ideas, questions, or comments, please post them! - 4

Hammond
Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy my posts. I will attempt to post more frequently, but it is not easy. I appreciate all of your comments, especially the ones regarding the layout and look of my city. Growing with you, for you. Hello again! It’s been an eventful past couple of years in Tromperton. As expected, most of the northwest corner of the city was developed and a new borough was established. This of course came after some changes were made to the original borough that will be addressed later in the update. But first, I would like to introduce you to Hammond. After all of the original neighborhoods where completed, the city council took time before laying the foundation of the newest borough. An exploratory council was created to evaluate the city’s needs and aspirations in regards to the new additions. Items they considered in their study included desired population, density requirements and limitations, jobs, aesthetic appeal, attraction of tourists, and wealth of the city/population. Once a plan was created, a new developer was brought in to design the neighborhoods. This provided a fresh look to the developments, parks, and attractions. As always we will start the presentation with a basic road map. Transit As seen in the updated road map, all new development is based off of the new McKinnedy Drive. This road is the life line of the new borough. The road intersects Phil Stephens Parkway to the North and the newly named Monroe Highway to the south. The road is also the only way to get up and down Mount Cullman. These mountain passes can be seen below. Both passes are approaching max capacity due to the sheer volume of people that live on top of Mount Cullman. There are plans for a new pass to alleviate the pressure off of McKinnedy Drive, but this will could be a few years off. Neighborhoods So far there are three new neighborhoods within the new borough of Hammond. This includes a executive and skilled worker neighborhood along Carlson Canyon, a unskilled worker and skilled worker neighborhood to the north, and a urban hub along the river to the south. There are also plans for a new university and college neighborhood to be developed in the valley to the north of the river. Bluffdale High atop Mount Cullman sits the prosperous Bluffdale. The neighborhood is known for its wonderful views and convenience to the borough’s downtown. The canyon side of McKinnedy Drive is populated with by the neighborhood’s executive workers while the other side contains subdivisions for skilled workers. The vast majority of this area was zoned low density, however some lots near the major roads have been zoned medium density to allow for condominium construction. Situated one block from the cliff to Carlson Canyon is Bluff Park. The park contains a small marketplace that surrounds a Ferris wheel which is all in front of a lake. The park has several walking paths and is always crowded with active executive families. The most appealing feature to the neighborhood is the amazing views along Carlson Canyon. Above you can see the view of the river as it winds towards the borough’s downtown. Waddlesberg Waddlesberg is currently the largest neighborhood in the city. The neighborhood also straddles McKinnedy Drive with the unskilled subdivisions to the north (the image above faces the south) and the skilled neighborhood to the south facing the valley below. For most of the unskilled subdivisions, a 3x7 grid pattern was used. The rest of the road designs followed the free forming roads that are common in the city. In the center of the neighborhood lies Lake Potter Park. The park is split by McKinnedy Drive and borders both skilled and unskilled neighborhoods. Similar to Bluff Park in Bluffdale, the park has open marketplaces near a Ferris wheel and a museum. The lake is also surrounded by walking paths in an attempt to help promote a healthy community. The newest addition to the city is the Christ the Developer statue. The statue sits at the edge of the neighborhood looking over the rest of the city. This helped provide large amounts of leisure to the very bored population. This has also become the number one tourist attraction in the city with plans for hotels near the complex on the way. Flumenton Flumenton is the newest urban hub in Tromperton. The developers knew that the original downtown could not support the growth of the new borough and that a new city center was needed for the suburbs that were proposed. Flumenton is everything south of McKinnedy Drive and east of Monroe Highway. The east side of town contains several medium density residents for skilled workers and executives and the west side of is medium density office space. Along the river is a boardwalk containing several residences and businesses on stilts. This has also become a popular location for tourists locals alike. A similar stilt neighborhood was proposed in East Brighton along Riverside Drive but never came to fruition. Above you can see the river as it winds into Carlson Canyon. Keeping with a tradition in the city, the downtown area is filled with several parks and open green space for the residents and workers in the area. There are also several hotels surrounded by green space scattered throughout the blocks within the community. Changes to Original Borough While all of the new development was going on, city officials made sure to not turn their attention away from the existing residents of the city. This included several small scale road widenings and additions to public services. However there are two changes that have severely changed the landscape to the city and the way the residents live their life. Bus Before the new borough was constructed, the city knew it had to do something with the traffic problem in the existing borough. Many roads were at capacity and were threatened by commutes to new areas of the city. Too much development had occurred for any large scale road widening projects so the city opted to develop a small bus system for the 5 original neighborhoods. The goal of the bus system is to move commuters to and from the two largest employment hubs in the city. Bus depots were constructed downtown and at the high-tech park in West Brighton. Three lines were developed out of each of the depots servicing the three most populous areas of the city: East Brighton, West Brighton, and Northside. Sudden Valley was left out of the system due to its low population and Sunset Ridge was excluded due to controversy over the future of Sunset Ridge Bridge. The goal before the development was having ridership at 50% capacity. Currently, the system is being used at 30% capacity. This could be because of how long each route is, the fact that they are traveling through mainly low density neighborhoods, and because of how affluent the neighborhoods the bus system services are. Still, the creation of the system was able to make the traffic in the city bearable and severed as a great experiment for the city council moving forward. Sunset Ridge Bridge As mentioned in the previous post, one of the most controversial issues in the city was the construction of the Sunset Ridge Bridge. The monstrosity spanned over an executive suburb and was a visible blight to every home and office in the city. After several years of complaints from the residents of the city, the bridge was replaced with a tunnel in the exact same location. Before After The demolition of the bridge and the construction of the tunnel took several years and cost millions for the city. The entire process further alienated the residents of Sunset Ridge. For 5 years, the only way the residents of the neighborhood could visit the city was to actually leave the city through the adjacent city’s connection point on the north side of the community. After the tunnel was completed, the executive suburb was reconstructed and life returned to normal. Future Plans The most pressing issue to the city now is the education problem. A sufficient number of elementary, middle, and high schools have been placed throughout the city however the citizens just don’t seem to be getting any smarter. After several years of shipping their 18 year olds off to different cities for a college education, the residents of Tromperton has elected to construct a new university in the heart of the new borough on the west side of town. The map above shows the level of education available to the residents with red indicating poor access and green indicating generous access. Hopefully the new university will bring a higher level of education to all residents of the city and attract new businesses. The ground breaking ceremony will occur later this month with the first semester of school coming four years later. [note] I should note that the graphics card of my computer is being pushed to the edge whenever I take these pictures. That can explain why in some shots you will see trees and in some you will not. -

Ephraim Transportation Authority (ETA)
Since i have last updated the Intro to this, Ephraim has grown quite large, to a total population of just about 500,000. Like with any large city, and rapidly growing one at that, there were transpiration issues. The freeways and roadways in the city were getting just a bit to crowded, and the citizens demanded an alternative. Shortly after, the ETA (Ephraim Transportation Authority) was born. The ETA first established a large fleet of hybrid metro buses and taxis. Not much later the ETA-MSE (Ephraim Transportation Authority- Monorail System of Ephraim) branch was formed to bring a new form of Rapid Transit to the city, the monorail. At the current time the monorail serves only the central city of Ephraim, and a couple of closer suburbs. The MSE is currently in the works of creating the world's largest monorail system. Farming
REPLIES: usfighter15: Thanks! And I think it was probably a glitch Schulmanator: Thanks dude! Giseth: Thanks, and I will! In the new and official Great Andiante Republic legislature house, an act known as "Land Ordinance of 2001" was passed. It gave farmers a maximum of 100 acres of land to plant on which can help fuel the economy and food supply. As a result, many people from Middleton moved out into the frontier and began farming: Experimenting with some flora 20 years later..... Middleton becomes a new financial center -

Chapter 1: "...our common wealth"
The apocryphal story that surrounds the establishment of the Commonwealth states that George W Baker merely wished to find a place to exploit the resources so that he could recoup his companies’ investment in a failed mining expedition to South Africa. Though he did not live to see his idea succeed, it was the vision of his sons who made possible the last mercantile state ever founded. He wrote in a letter to a friend and shareholder in 1883, “...(M)y belief that the authority of the law and our tireless industry should lay the foundation of our common wealth.” This was the principle that in 1891 was adopted by the 1st Charter Assembly as the basis for formation of the Commonwealth of Baker Park. After his death in 1890, the control of the company he established to settle his new territory, G.W. Baker & Sons passed to his 3 sons–William, Simon, and John. They had established their first settlement in 1888 and called it Belle Haven. The company commissioned Stuart Marshall and Gustav Lynch to take a party to survey the territory and report back on their findings. After 4 years of settlement and exploration, on November 11, 1892, sovereignty was proclaimed after HM Queen Victoria gave the Royal Assent to The Baker Park Charter Act. The provisional government continued until Prince Frederick Wilhelm, 2nd son of the Grand Duke of Oldenburg arrived in January 1893. Frederick had been persuaded by George Baker to become Regent of his new country after extensive negotiations in 1889. Frederick called for the first election for a permanent government and in September 1893, the first meeting of The House of Assembly was called to order. William Baker was chosen as the first Prime Minister. From the beginning, lines between governance and the business of trade were blurred. The Company underwrote many projects to improve everyday living while the work itself was used to build the city. The largest single project prior to the turn of the century was the magnificent St John's Palace, the residence of the Prince Regent, with a commanding view of the river it still maintains today. -

Afen - The City of Light
So my journey went on. Travelling through the wood I spent days, the path was rough and disused, built long ago by the founders of the Skilpholt village. It went through hills and valleys. So I past the first village, Gwenholt, a little bigger than Skilpholt, being in a deep valley, near a spring. The poeple there are nice and welcoming to guests, as soon as people knew about my purpose of travelling through the country, I was offered a place to sleep and a good meal. The people there were amazed when I told them where I had been born. In that way I walked for two weeks and a day and as I went on I started to hear more and more often the name of Afen. I had heard of it in one of my favourite tales, but I saw it too impressive to be true. But, there I was, at a week's walk from it, the City of Light, home of many brave legendary characters, fair city full of life. I was recommended to follow the river Eowdir, in the shores of which lies the city of Afen. I followed the suggestion and it turned out well: In a week's time I was arriving in the city. Completely amazed and captivated by the beauty of the city. The Old Town and the Red Wood The first sight of the city is the old town, the first stone houses of the city and a huge statue of Gwaillen the Great, founder of the city. Mountain Scaling
Quartz Isle 1998 As the Gibson family continued to prosper off of their new dock, Alex received word that a storm had flooded a group of his employee's houses. Shocked by the news, he invited them to live on Quartz Isle. The employees brought their families to the island, and their community began to develop. Commercial services also sprang up as a result of the new population. 1999 Gibson thought of a great new way to make money. Since many people would love to live on a tropical island with beaches and a volcano, Alex decides to sell some land for housing. He continues to prsoper though selling land, catching bluefin, and growing grapes. Since he has never been up to see the top of the volcano, he orders for a road to be paved to the top. Yes, it was a major challenge to built up the mountain with a sensative slope mod! Please comment with any questions or suggestions!- Read More

Within the next 10 minutes on this halloween night several more blocks would be destroyed along with the lives of 552 innocent people. Financial district ready
The financial district has been completed and people start to move in and work in the new offices. The district has been designed to offer working space in it's best qualities. Great care has been made to make the environment relaxing. Many trees and plazas have been made to achieve this. Water was a binding element in the design. It surrounds the buildings at the tip of the island. A canal has been made so that more buildings can enjoy the water. The next step is to build the residential area to facilitate living space for the people that work here, and for the citizens who want to live in this beautiful environment! A view from the ground up A helicopter view over the cluster of high rise buildings A view from a high rise to the water The district at night A view from the top of the international bank toward the Abu Dubai Waterfront Please leave some tips, rate and comment so I can improve my city journal - 19

Somerford
Replies Samerton: More is on it's way TowerDude: Thanks Benedict: Thank you Somerford Well after a week of trying to fix my malware problems I finally ran my PC in safe mode and installed Malwarebytes, ran it, and now my computer is okay again. I didn't lose anything at all and nothing was corrupted, I call that a success! SC4 works fine and I now have new pictures from Somerford: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=50.738221,-1.755388&spn=0.010198,0.033023&z=16 So here's Somerford: The whole area of Somerford in SC4, with the A35 running along the top Some small apartments built in the 70's, does anyone know how to get rid of the visual abandonment? A housing estate along Normandy Road built in the late 90's More housing along the side of Somerford Junior School A little piece of woodland in between the two housing estates The fields of The Grange School The traffic view of the harbour, fairly accurate but not 100% Oh well, after that little glitch this CJ can carry on, won't update as much though, end of year exams and whatnot, see you next time on the New Forest! - 11

The Fallout
Palisades A major riot was started in central Palisades when protesters started throwing garbage at President Verdebaum when he was visiting the Town Hall regarding safety issues. Verdebaum managed to escape in his motorcade, and he had the police arrested all of the protesters. Palisidians were outraged with their leader. Shops were being looted and violent crimes were committed. To control the population, Verdebaum created a military base just outside of Palisades Later that month, after nearly all of the Palisidians had turned against Verdebaum, a drastic decision was made by verdebaum. The Palisidians had heard something in the distance. They all stopped for a minute, to see a formation of jets flyign directly over the city. Seconds later, a bomb was dropped in the center of downtown Within minutes, all Palisidians were taking cover. Bombs were falling right and left Even through the night. Verdebaum would not show any mercy to the city of Palisades. Fire erupted throughout the city, and nearly all of Palisades was engulfed in flame All of the citzens have either fled the city, or were killed on this tragic day No one remained in Palisades. When asked for a reson for bombing Palisades, Verdebaum blamed it on the lie that the Palisidians were plannign to attack other parts of the Republic. Citizens believed him, and thought he had made the right decision. They will never know how corrupt their leader really is. end Sorry for the abrupt ending everyone. This was just a test city for me, but dont worry, there will be more well-planned and more interesting cities on the way. Thanks for Follwing Palisades! - 6

Update 29: Hauereichen - A Bedroom Community
Hello at All! It has been a while since I posted, partially due to really bad RLS, partially because I haven't played the game for a while. and I must confess I miss the previous post editor ... Update 29: Hauereichen - A Bedroom Community Hauereichen is a small suburb of my small megalopis. It has some nice villas, some prefab blocks, not much commerce, a little bit of industry and farming and lots of woods. Actually the woods brought me back to game - I just had to try out the new HD seasonal trees by Girafe (even though I used the evergreen ones - I am still the same slow, stubborn oldfashioned donkey that needs its time for new tricks ...) The "urban" part of the map. The Glr-in-Ave separates prefabs from the villa. You can also see the CBD and industrial area. From an different Angle. It took some time to get the prefabs grown as I wished but it was worth it! The "CBD". The main function of Hauereichen is Residential - a typical bedroom community at the edge of town. That was kind of a hard NAM jigsaw. All Glr-in-Ave and TuLEP pieces are somehow glued together, remove one and the whole intersection will be gone. In addition to this the GLR station was the reason for some CTDs: it is modded for draggable GLR but here the short distance only allowed GLR puzzle pieces ... Usually something like that would have been my "after" - picture. But the whole quarter here is rather new - somewhere in the middle of 20th century - so the old buildings didn't fit. And this is usually the "before" - situation... But together with the industrial area on the other side of the avenue these buildings just do better. (and yes, that corner building could have been replace, too, but I just like it). I just love how that school and the profab com together! OK, Journey meant the sun in their rock classic - but somehow the line just fits. Here you can see the woods that I created mostly with the new trees from Girafe - to the left all new trees (that are available evergreen and seasonal) and at the top and to the left combined with his old pine trees and cp.s pine trees. Incredible but unlike Simfox's trees you can create a rather dense woods only with Girafe's maple without all props becoming one monotone mesh! All kind of forrests. The edges of the forests still are the domain for Simfox's trees as you can place them more exactly than Girafe's ones. That's my belated easter present for you - hope you liked it. Have fun! The Lively City - Daytime
Replies @ Damastius: Again, thank you! Today's update is the first with the graphics settings on High. I hope the change improves the pictures. Lorville never sleeps. In the day, the streets are packed with people and cars, and expansion occurs daily. Shops are major businesses in the city. Blocks of flats appear in the newer areas to provide lots of housing. Lots of people live in the newly built 'super' housing estates away from the bustling high rise areas. The highways are always very busy. There are houses out of the way of the havoc filled city streets... ... and the stadium attracts even more visitors to the city. Aeroplanes are a common sight in the airspace above the city. Grassy areas are preserved to give people a breath of fresh air. Meanwhile, queues are forming on the streets at rush hour.. Even the 'quiet' backstreets are very noisy.. Large bridges dominate the suburban skyline.. Small shops open in the outer areas. Trees.. and chimneys. Not everything's so chaotic... Thanks for looking, Sam =) Note: All comments are welcome, especially constructive ones. - 4
