The Beginning
From the Journal of T. Michael Davis March 10, 1900 Weather: Cold, Overcast Location: Erie Bay, Eastern end of Lake Erie At the request of Mayor Delenzo of Erie Bay, I have left my academic life in Cleveland, OH to help in turning around this small community. The Mayor became interested in my services after reading an article I had written for Harper's Weekly on my theories of community growth through proper management of civic resources. After arriving in Rochester by train, I took a ride in Samuel McReilly's automobile to my destination, an uncomfortable journey to say the least. Upon arriving I found to my suprise that the community was not in fact the soon to be rising city he had described and I had hoped for, but rather a quaint community with little access to the surrounding communities. Little wealth existed in the town, with the exception of a few wealthy land owners. One of the these gentlemen was kind enough to give me the pleasure of using his new "Box Brownie" camera so that I could record photographs of the town of Erie Bay for my planning and research. The first photograph was taken when I attached the camera to a balloon so that I could get a better idea of the community from the air. I was shocked to know that the Edison Illuminating Company was providing the small town with electricity, a service that is still not common in most of the rural country. The farms of the region are smaller family affairs, growing mostly enough to sell in town and sustain themselves. It is in my opinion that the community must turn away from this pathetic attempt at taming the land and dedicate themselves to those affairs of industry. I did notice that they have established some manufacturing and industrial work near their small dock on the lake shore. Hopefully, with some urging on my part the community will come to adopt this as their main source of economic growth. As for the town proper, it is a sleepy village with little in the way of commercial enterprise and filled with dilapidated homes probably built shortly after the war between the States. Most civic life is centered around the village square, like time has stopped for these folks. I hope that they may embrace modernity with little resistance. In other happenings, I caught word at the train station that the Cleveland Blues would be playing ball in this new American League. What splendid news. August 17, 1902 Weather: Damn Hot Location: Erie Bay After arriving in Erie Bay 2 years ago, I have helped in some minor civic planning that will soon be implemented. But the biggest news of my career here came today. After many months of correspondence and inquiries, my efforts to revitalize the economy of this small town have met with success. Yesterday we celebrated the opening of new factory owned by US Steel. Happy days, indeed. I see the future of Erie Bay. Steel. Although this facility is small, I hope that in the coming years I am able to work with the company in establishing a steelworks here in Erie Bay. The added boost to the economy and the manpower required in it's operation would definitely put the town on the right track. In the news, I have been reading that the coal strikes in Eastern Pennsylvania have still not been resolved. I pray this does not have any effect on my intentions of building the industry of Erie Bay. -

City Update with more Great Advice!
Let me get this clear for all of you, I AM NO EXPERTAT SIM CITY! In fact Sim City 4 was my first game I have in the awesome series. So don't ask me incredibly hard questions. I was so bad at this game when I first got it that I had to redo about ten whole cities. Now I get to what I'm supposed to be talking about. My city is currently at 201,094 people and I'm expanding my transportation systems. My World Trade Center has three buildings and a beatiful plaza. Because I downloaded these buildings, my CO$$$ demand droped greatly. So I destroyed the buildings and lowered the taxes to 0.5. Soon I got three new and large CO$$$ skyscrapers. Hope this advice helps. Thanks for reading. - 5

Uptown And Hudson Point
It's been a while since my last update. Today I'm covering the area north of Midtown. Hudson Point lies across the Columbia River from Uptown and Midtown Trenton. It is home to Spartan Stadium where Trenton's NFL team the Spartans play. The Make-Up homes in Hudson Point are world famous landmarks, and known for their light pastel colors, and early 20th Century styling. The Golden Bay Country Club hosts the PGA Tour's North Eastern Open. A close-up shows golfers on the fairway. Harrow's Neck Island is a small island surrounded by the Columbia river, which has Interstate 98 traversing it, and occupied completely by industry. Pictured is the East end of the Washington Tunnel in Brooklyn. The tunnel travels a quarter mile below the Trenton River connecting to Uptown on the mainland. This is the West end of the Washington tunnel, surrounded by Uptown's sleek glass residential hi-rise towers. The Columbus Span travels North and South over the Columbia River, connecting Uptown to Hudson Point. And lastly here stand the towers along the bank of the Columbia river, residential towers that are home to some of Trenton's elite, overlooking the beaches. - 5

A City of Refuge
New China was once a small, isolated Christian village in the center of China. Its population boomed when the nation went communist, and soon the government began to crack down on Christian practices in the area. When the citizens had enough, they asked the USA to intervene. Bound by a pledge to defend freedom, the US decided to assist the city through negotiations. However, things quickly escalated to war. When the city and its vicinity were freed, they quickly asked to be annexed. The proposal was reluctantly approved, and New China became the United States' fifty-first state, with the capital in the city of the same name. The city quickly grew to a population of over 1,500,000 with an urban population of over 5,000,000. The annexation had a very apparent positive effect on the USA. The thousands of new businesses and millions of new employees in the workforce helped replenish the economy and put the United States back on the right road. -

Around Town...
Replies: @JGellock: Thanks! @Heitomat: Thanks! I really liked how this entry went together... I used the FARR as it broke the grid (especially on organic, flat farmland terrain. Oh fine, I'll teach ya, someday. It's not too hard (do you have PEG's Brigantine Water?) @escilnavia I was aiming for a satellite-like town. Thankyou. @skyscraper241: I'm quite proud of how the beach turned out. Thanks. @HamsterTK: Ok, point taken. I'll try to use a bit smaller rocks in the future. Glad you enjoyed the trees. And thankyou for commenting and the constructive criticism. I'm not going to caption as it's late, but I will 'dump' these pics. Enjoy. - 5

Newcity?
do you got a better name for it? It's a new town being built, for better confortebal life for the sims, and less crowded places to live in sims hate high buildings, living in big crowded city, is not a convortebal thing, even if the city view look good from the sky, but, it's not a very good idea for a sim to pass he's hall life in so it's a new town, that have agriculture, good industry, and mainly commercial services, tourism is still not very good, but the city is becoming a cultural tourism destination slowly The town is now expanding to the other side of the river the project is still moslty at the ground level- Read More

Welcome to Eversack
Welcome to the state of Eversack. Established in 1883, Eversack was home to many native tribes, but is now filled with busy cities, rural farms, and tourist traps. The state of Eversack consists land and waters of 737 square miles (12x12 big city tiles). Here's an areal view of the state (without cities): I also have a map of the county boundaries. (Remember, it's not a state without counties.) My region is still under construction. I will keep you posted. -

II: To RHW or not to RHW
Greetings friends! I come to you with a mini-update of sorts. Not too much has happened overall in Buruu since the intro, but I did get 2 new mods: RHW and NWM. So far, I have not used NWM. However I did spend a good deal of time playing around with the RHW. I'll share the results a little further down. But first... Comments Coppertown2 - Thanks! Some areas are still very haphzardly complete, or more along the lines of my old style of play: zone only dense, 6x6 grid and pack 'em in. So far, I'm pleased with the results of the change in playstyle. JGellock - Thanks for reading. The layout will definitely keep in this style as I expand. I'm not too sure what you mean by urban renewal in this case, but certainly there are areas to improve. The region views look fairly nice, and though Duffton is quite established, some of the other cities have problem I've yet to fix... but thats for another update! Current Region View: As you can see, not too much has changed. I've expanded Northburg and improved the high tech sector in the northwest of Buruu City. In addition, the highway between Xenoxos and Duffton has undergone some... experimentation with RHW. Real Highway Mod Experimentation First I want to tip my hat to the creators of this thing because, the results you can produce with it are simply amazing. Thanks guys! For me though, I'm just unsure if I want to take on the time investment. Maxis interchanges take about 3 seconds to plop. It took me about 3 hours to figure out and on/off ramp from avenue and you don't even want to know how long the trumpet interchange took. That said, I'm fairly pleased with the results! And here they are. My first RHW interchanges! I already mentioned my first concern with RHW: time. But my second is: space. The on/off above is already pretty tight... and while it looks nice, I feel like it already takes up too much space. I prefer the look of highways really being tightly woven into the city, mostly because it preserves the look of density and doesn't break the city up into chunks. But on the other hand RHW looks great and realistic compares to the hideous maxis interchanges. But what really concerns me about space is THIS: How the devil I'm going to get RHW + interchanges through there I haven't the faintest, all the while preserving the CBD I worked so hard to build. I'm definitely curious what you guys think about this situation. Questions and comments are welcome! - 2
