OMG, I've been struggling with brown boxes in Kei Commercial BATs (kei_CS$3_shopset01, I think, it's hard to tell since the query comes up with blank, unprintable characters (is there a way to install support for other character sets in the English-US release?)) since I installed them about a week ago and wasn't sure where to ask about it. This may well be the answer to my unasked question! :D

Actually, the lot you are showing there is part of this plugin which is a remake of the houses by AndisArt. Make sure to check the dependencies there.

As @11241036 wrote, you've installed the nos.17 relots and you need the these two textures sets:
Vortexture 1 - Base Set v1
Vortexture 2 - Grass and Dirt v2

By the way in my review you will find all the dependency links.

Oh... now, that you gave that link, I know what's the problem. Those are NOT Kei's creations. Those are Sanakoku's creations and they are here on STEX under the @STEX Custodian account. I uploaded them a few months ago.

And it contains an English local file, which fills up those blank names and descriptions.

EDIT: Hm... I found out that I accidently left out the english locals from most of the Sanankoku uploads. Although you will find it in the Sanankoku - JR Central Towers upload.

Hi @Tyberius06, @c4bl3fl4m3 was talking about a brown box problem with the kei_CS$3_shopset01 file, so we're talking about kei buildings and the link I provided for the 2 zakkyo sets is working!

@c4bl3fl4m3 provided a link, which solved the brownbox issue. Now I see, that Kei has a shop set which contains lots based on Sanankoku's models:

Most probably these lots have suffered from the brownbox issue, since the models for these lots are not part of any of Kei's prop sets, but Kei used the buildings from Sanankoku's set for his own shop set lots. :) 

This page: http://bathouse.web.fc2.com/zakkyo/zakkyo.htm was Sanankoku's own site. Some part of it still exists, some part doesn't. Anyway, the Kei lots don't have english locals indeed, just realized. But once I'll be there with my organization on my end, I'm gonna create such translations if somebody else won't do that by that time.

The one on the top left is this one (but maybe a relot, I'm not sure):

About the others: The one on the top right and one of the two houses on the bottom right are part of this plugin; however, again, these may be relots. Who actually made this picture? Perhaps you can ask him/her for a link or whatever.

Yo, guys --

After a three year hiatus (no work on my cities), I'm purging my plugins folder in preparation to return...(YEAH !).  This will involve creating some new lots from the work that has been done by the more talented members of the community -- since I have zero "batting" skills.

One problem I found on some of the older lots in the game is that they lacked either adequate night lighting, or had NO night lighting at all.

Does anybody know if anyone ever created (recently) any NEW "prop-lighting" that could be added to lots ??  Especially flood lights for statues and building fronts ??  Or "rendered" elevated lighting props that could be added to taller buildings or even ships?  Possibly crafted in arbitrary vertical offsets -- 7m, 15m, etc, etc......

I know it sounds a bit far-fetched, but I figured I'd give it a shot.

Sadly the dependencies  WMP Fence & Garden Prop Pack and wmp_fence-wall_props is not uploaded anymore

IF you wait a few days, they will be available again. There has been some changes on the original hosting site, but it will be coming back online in a couple of days. Also there is a plan to compile the separate prop sets into megapacks and those will be available on LEX and probably on STEX aswell in the next couple of weeks.

Hi Simtropolis! I didnt want to open a new thread but my batch file for opening SC4 might have something wrong. Evertime I open SC4, the bottom of the screen is overlapped by the windows task bar. And overlapped means I cant get to the buttons/options that it covers.

 This is the file:

The -w will put the game in windowed mode. You can try hiding your Windows Taskbar.

Thank you, I removed it but it still didnt work. i know I can hide the task bar but that should not be the problem. To avoid putting the cursor down and having the task bar pop up, like I never had this issue before. Not sure what to do, maybe the resolution is wrong?

I don't see the images in your prior post showing, but maybe try adding the -f parameter instead of the -w so then the game can use full screen mode. If preferring to continue using windowed mode, you may find the Raise UI Mod useful which does what it says on the tin. The description has instructions on the setup too.

I can see my images were deleted. Thats funny, I posted it in other thread and deleted from it. It deleted from here too.

 

Anyways, I was playing around with the resolution pixels, and went back to the original and it worked. This is so dumb.

 

Thank you though. (I do IT for a living and I really dont understand what happened)

Ah yes, that would explain what happened. If deleting attachments from another post, they're the same files in the server.

That would also explain why the images also were no longer appearing in your post here too. The central index for all one's attachments can be found on this page, which allows storage quota to be managed. It is possible to post images more than once in different locations, and the last saved place is where the system sees them located. Other posts though with the same images (or even attached files like zips) will still otherwise be available.

No worries though, and glad to hear you solved it. *:)

I know NAM/RTMT is currently working on NWM road top stations, but I've seen a few mentions of existing ones on Simcitychina, I can't download anything from there and have no means to get an invite, does anyone know if these are available?
