Tribute to A Nonny Moose

Many times we were antagonistic and sometimes we disagree deeply ... but it's undeniable the legacy of their life time dedicated to this community and it shows how much he deserves all possible respect and admiration of us all.

We know that everyone will miss his presence but I also know that he will live in the memory of all who love the game and the community he loved and that lived the opportunity of frequent coexistence with their experience

Sad, sad day knowing this ...

Nonny had a lot of life in him and was a major presence here. His absence since leaving to undergo therapy has been quite noticeable and it is sad to know he won't be coming back. I likewise am going to miss all the lively intellectual debate he was fond of engaging in. 'Twas fun.

Hope you enjoy the great SimNation in the sky, my good man.

Man. I am bummed. I didn't tend to agree with him, but he was always up for a debate and more than willing to offer advice (whether it was asked for or not!)

He was a pillar of the community. I kinda hoped he'd had a few more years in him.

RIP Nonny. Hope you had peace, whatever that meant to you.

I'm going to keep the Moose Factory open in his honor.  While I was certainly hoping for the best I can't say I am surprised by this news.  I am absolutely saddened, though.  Nonny was a great member and drove the topics in many sections of our forums.

The news about Nonny hits too close to home as a Simtrop user.. I didn't realize what was happening until today..

While I had a few enjoyable conversations with him and I admit there were times I sparred with him over the keyboard but he was a keystone for the off topic threads. You'd be hard pressed to find a thread he wouldn't post in. And now this site won't be the same without him..

Farewell, A Nonny Moose! And thank you for your insight!

This is just horrible news to hear. He is one of the few people who could actually make me laugh out loud in writing. This place hasn't been the same since he got sick because he was so consistent and so incredibly helpful. I always chuckled when I would log on here and see his name on like 10 posts on the recent updates thing off to the side of the main page. I am going to crack a beer in your honor as soon as I post this. Rest in peace Nonny. I will miss you.

Today is the first time I log in to ST and have to avoid looking at the Off-Topic Forum, I can't. John helped us, a generally much younger lot, to see the world from a different view, a different perspective. I rarely agreed with him, rarely my view was coincident to his; and this was extraordinary. We two, and I guess this applies to many other members of the site, had some memorable keyword duels about many topics due to our radically different visions of the world. Can't avoid feeling a bit orphan since found out the news yesterday evening.

We will miss you here at Simtropolis. Rest in Peace, Nonny.

Simtropolis will not be the same again without him. Rest in Peace, my friend.

Dear Granpa Moose, (for those who don't know, I adopted him with his consent when I was barely a few weeks old here)

Tho I only got to chat with you a few times in my early mapping endeavors, I truly enjoyed how we went off topic and found common ground discussing computer programming. I'm sure you can read all the heartfelt replies in this thread and are watching over the forums. Too bad the connection is still only one way to where you are. If anyone can debug the connection, I'm sure you'll be the one to do it.

Yours truly,

Cori
