After releasing the boats, I was asked to see if I could make them available for CAL's Canal set.

Bear in mind, there are two versions of CAL's canals. The original, made in a very old version of 3dsMax with a very old renderer (which has had the diagonal expansions done for it) and the newer stone canal set which has some backwards compatibility with the newer 3dsMax / Bat4Max rendering engines.

I've done both. The older version can only be done with the lot editor:

BUT, with the newer version of his canals (the stone canal set), I was provided with the canal water piece and that means you can get a boat with an actual water reflection:

And, crucially, I can give it nightlights which will also reflect on the water's surface, which is rather nice to see in SC4:

So cool, especially the night lights :)

1917 Krassin Ice Breaker

KRASSIN_ICEBREAKER.png

Once again -- a beautiful, highly detailed ship !!  The "weathering" textures are absolutely superb !!  *:thumb:  *:thumb:  *:thumb:

It is worth noting that the Imperial German Navy routinely used their older Siegfried Class and Braunschweig Class battleships on Ice breaking duty.

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

The cuckoo clock !

I've just released a simple mod, turning SimGoober's awesome azaleas, hydrangeas, and wildflowers that are part of many available lots, into MMP's, for your gardening pleasure, since many people nowadays prefer MMP's. Hope you like it.

YES

Throw in some gravel MMPs and they would work in more rural settings too. Useful for MMP villages as well! Nicely done.

Yo, guys --

A few more pics from Wilhelmshaven South.

Directly behind the Opera House and the Alexander Platz, you find the continuation of the aforementioned "central park" feature, and it forms a boundary on the south side of the Old Business District.  There has been considerable "urban renewal" in the area, but some popular parts of the old town have survived.  You will note the famous "Harrod's Department store by @mattb325 across the avenue from the "Siegessaule Platz" (Victory Park).  I have used a variety of Paeng's PedMall pieces and Paeng Park paths (modified for lights) to tie the whole thing together for a rather pleasing night scene.

This is an overview of most of the spacious, wooded "Siegessaule Platz".  It presents a visually imposing feature for the "downtown" area while providing a bit of countryside to relax the soul.

g41yBMk.jpg

In this close-up, on the right, "Bertoldi's Lions" flank the entrance with a selection of fountains and suitably patriotic statuary.  The two side plazas nearest the steps on the left are Paeng's "pocket-plazas", with the paving tiles modified to match those of the park promenade.  I believe the small park paths to the side are "SFBT", also modified.  Pretty much everything you see here is on the "modular principle" -- usually 1x1 lots of wildflowers, paving tiles, tree filler lots, and park paths.

And here you have the focal feature of the park -- "The Siegessaule" (Victory Column).  I raised a square platform and "dressed" it out with custom sandstone retaining walls, with fenced railing in the corners, and double stairways by @T Wrecks providing access.  At each corner, custom tree filler lots are used to "frame" the visual image of the column.  I do believe the setting is worthy of the monument.  Again, the modular system can provide a park of almost any shape or size and can be used to provide an interesting green space in almost any configuration.

Great job Sir!

The colour scheme of the light feels really cosy and pleasant.

Modified one of the NBVC marina lots but am having trouble getting it to work like the other ones do.  Anyone know how to get this to work on the slope between the water and the land?

Thanks!
