  4. Animaltown: The Iron Forest

Hi everyone! Its been a long while between posts on my CJ but I have been continuously making progress in the back ground. Before I go in-depth of what I've done, Ill give a short overview of some thins I've been working on. Birdtown is filled out for now The Stock District is also filling out. I've been working on piers, Old city and the Highways along the river. Right now, I am working on the District directly north to Ani Park. This is a Times Square inspired section of the city. I'm trying to figure out how to turn the NYBT growable residential buildings into ploppable landmarks so I can fill out this section of the city in the way I want to. Current Region view See you soon!

@mrsmartmanThanks! Those are my favorite buildings and I can't tell you how much time I spent on this small section. Unfortunately, my game crashes every time I try to place the Woolworth building from the NYBT.

@The British Sausage: Amazing pictures @nycsc4: Nice! Good to see Philly in the game Heres a composite of an area I've been tweaking for the last couple of months. I just came back after a long break and decided to work on it again. Need to decide what to do with some empty piers and the area around the soccer stadium. Theres two aircraft carriers next to a pier just for now- trying to decide which one I like better. Also, I would love to get any leads for sail boats or cruise ships downloads that are floating around!

Beautiful tunnels @scotty222! Does the tunnel in the first picture UDI enabled? If so how did you do it? And those overhang parks are really nice!

I've slowly but surely been chipping away at the Bird Town District and it's highways. This area features the most dense concentration of skyscrapers in the city. This area is in the small white box in the bottom right corner of the picture below. Before: I decided to totally revamp this CBD to accomadate more realistic highway routes and docks that didn't look awful. I never really finished this section as it has been untouched basically since 2009... So I started making some docks and a place for a ferry port I was very fortunate with these pedestrian overpasses because the heights of everything lined up without having to manually line it up. The bridge is awkward because its a height of 10m, not 7.5 or 15, and the spacing of the supports allows only the 6C to somewhat make sense under it. I was really happy when I found that it lined up perfectly with the NAM Ped overpass tower. Next, I took out all the buildings Marina below the Continental Center for the Performing Arts. I had a fun time weaving the highway through it all I added a functional 3 enterance tunnel across the river (the Deleware river) that I'll showcase in one of the next updates. It works! This is as far as I've gotten, more to come soon!

Thanks! Those were my first walls too I think (all those years ago). This is the only spot in my city that I've been able to use them though. I've been favoring the JENXParis walls recently

That looks really nice @SharkSark, I really like the double avenues at the bottom. Heres a waterfront hotel/ music hall complex with a highway through it and some piers around it. I wanted this to be like a waterfront version of Lincoln center in NYC
