About This File
30 North LaSalle is an office building located at the corner of LaSalle and Washington streets in downtown Chicago, Illinois. It was designed by Thomas E. Stanley (1917–2001) in the New Formalist style. It stands on the site of the old Chicago Stock Exchange building, which was demolished in 1972 after a failed historic preservation intiative. Completed in 1975, 30 North LaSalle stands 44 floors / 553 feet / 169 meters tall. The Chicago City Council designated it a landmark in May 2026.
