Have been having a look thru my computer backups and what I saved from the old SC3000 Website before the site went down for the final time City files = 1018 Starter Towns = 56 Terrain Files = 169 Most of them should be uploaded into the club, but as I found when I had a sort out of the SC2 club I had missed uploading some of them, over the next few weeks will be going thru the downloads in the club and just checking that everything that was saved from the old SC3000 website is actually in the club

Hi all... Maybe I missed an announcement somewhere else, but thought I would check here before making any assumptions... I haven't checked on the Capital SimCity site in about a week, but I noticed it was down today. Does any one know if it has been down for a while, or maybe it's just a 'glitch'... Thanks.

I was looking though images on Google and came across an item that looks legit, but sends you to a different site and file is 124MB Im not sure what this is, but it uses MattB325 image for Urban School. Anyone know what this is ? I wont post link, but it shows in image. If I do a Google Search for - SimCity fasrdial , it shows up as top result and no other info on this person

Ever found yourself being led astray into a web of nothingness? Solving a problem which has been prevalent for many years now, this mod contains 4 options to modify the now defunct SimCity.ea.com website button in the Region View screen. Option A (Click Prevented) Prevents the click (and features a hover over dialog). Upon click a harmless sound will play which is only for effect. Option B (Replaced with Exit) Replaces the Web button with the Exit button exactly in the same location. Option C (Simply Removed) Just makes the Web button no longer visible, meaning there's a gap where it was. Option D (Simtropolis Link) The Web button is still available, but now links directly to Simtropolis instead. Added 1st October 2020: Or alternatively, you may wish to use this version: Web Button Improvement Mod_v1.0 - EA Archived Link for Option D.zip As per the suggestion @Admiral Moo made in the comments, this links to the Wayback Machine's archived page for the original SimCity.ea.com site which was the target of the old web link. ---------- There are two versions of each option. One which supports running SC4 in full screen mode, and the other in windowed mode. Installation This mod uses the standard process of installing SC4 content. There are no dependencies. Choose a folder depending on how you wish to play the game (windowed or full screen). Then copy ONE of the .dat file options into your Plugins folder. All versions are compatible with the Raise the UI Mod which is still required for raising the interface once entering a city. If using this, make sure to copy a chosen file into the same folder. The z_ at the beginning will ensure mine loads last, and both can work together properly. Hopefully preventing the web button being clicked (or making it functional) comes in useful. I know I've clicked it unintentionally a few times too! Special Mention Thanks to @Terring for inspiration of the idea from his thread. Also to my good friend @CorinaMarie for helping me with preliminary testing on her multiple computers, and giving feedback and ideas to make this mini project properly possible. Couple years ago on our website I am now supporting SimCity (2013), SimCity 4 and cities skyline not just cities xl and cities xxl only. I created the gaming forum for city building games so users can share resources, media and forum with chat and club feature. Today I am letting you know i am ok with users uploading their resources, media. I suppose it's really time to make the entire site really static since the backend now frequently falls down. You can use any tool (such as HTTrack to archive the entire site as is) There are also search engines FOR static websites that you can easily integrate if necessary And then you could put the site behind Cloudflare to cache everything including the search results, setting very long Edge Cache TTL and enabling HTTPS. Title says all. Anybody else ? Have access to main menus but get “Error -- contact admin“ if I want to go somewhere specific.) I did contact admin @Tarkus but got no answer -- perhaps to busy with it :-( -

Not entirely sure where this is supposed to go, but SC4 Devotion appears to be down, it's giving me a database error. LEX works fine. Is anyone else getting this or just me?

I remember I had a profile to SimCity China in order to download various awesome stuff, especially from @FANTA1990. Unfortunately I can't remember my password and I can't find a "I forgot my password" button to get at least a new one. If it's not possible to retrieve my password, I'll have to make a new profile but I don't know Chinese and I can't find the "how to register on SimCity China" tutorial. A little help, please?

RIP: www.city-builders.info While Simtropolis was having some technical issues my website hosting account at HostPapa come to an end, I must admit I was expecting a more sensible close-down message from Hostpapa than the one they put up, as visitors are probably going to assume reading it that this is something temporary. A few things have still got to be uploaded to Simtropolis and I also have complete backups of the site so if anyone is looking for something that was on the site and its still not over at Simtropolis then let me know and I'll get it sorted out if possible. A bit of a relief in a way now its gone as real life issues have meant I wasn't spending the time I should have on keeping the site running properly ... am looking forward to maybe getting back to playing SC4 again, will still be playing Banished and now Luke (Banished creator) is back making a new game and has just started a new development blog http://www.shiningrocksoftware.com/ If its anything like his blog when he was creating Banished will be well worth following in the future. Dear Fellow Players, I'm Kamil, known as kbieniu7 at other SimCity websites. I'm one of the admins of SimCityPolska and have to make a sad announcement. For last ten years we've been running a website which became the main scene of the Polish part of SimCity 4 Community, as well as one of several bigger download sections with hundreds of plugins uploaded. Having a great number of users, Mayor Diaries and events at the very beginning, with each passing year we encountered lower and lower activity at our website. That happened not only among us, it's been well visible in other communities too. Thanks to effort and donations from older users, we managed to keep the forum and the download section alive (although with many holes in them). In recent years, however, the decline has been so deep that we practically stopped seeing any activity out there. Because of that fact, combined with raising costs and less and less of our personal time to keep it running, with a heavy hearth we decided to shut the site down. We won't do it instantly. Instead, we will start by closing the discussion board within next weeks. We acknowledge that we share a big download section with hundreds of files and that it would be unfair for the Players to just let them dissappear. We want to run trough the content, choose the best files, pack some of them into packages and reupload at other websites (presumably here at Simtropolis and SC4Devotion). Actually, that may be a thing that we should have done years before. We knew that our download section wasn't the easiest one to navigate trough, especially with image hosting sites "blackouts", but because of real-life affairs, we did not have enough time to do this. Now, as we take that ultimate decision, we will try to save at least a part of it. Probably, by the end of the year, SimCityPolska will disappear. What I could encourage you to do is to visit the website, take a look at BAT&LOT section and download the files that might seem interesting to you, as long as they are still available. Speaking of the community, we probably keep the facebook profile running for a while, although we can't see much to be saved and we think that there is no point in opening any new Polish-speaking place. We hope that you understand this decision. Many thanks to anyone who has ever visited SimCityPolska. That was a pleasure to host and act in this part of the SimCity 4 Community. I'm curious to know Your opinion about the website Simtropolis. Today I started editing one site in my country. And I realized that this is far from the quality that I see on Simtropolis. Ok, I assume this is the right forum. Since this morning I noticed an irregularly intermittent, rapping sound, like when you roll one dice in a cup or if you briefly rap your knuckles on wood. I narrowed it down --apparently -- to my going on the Simtropolis site (as it doesn't happen when I'm not there). There used to be a small sound icon on the right of the google bar, with which to turn off an annoying dinging sound (also happening on the website). That icon has disappeared -- and the digging sound is now that equally annoying and loud rapping sound. Has anybody experienced this or is my computer the only poltergeisted one ?

I ordered and received the Collector's Edition DVDs. With it there was a card thanking me and it had a website on it "for help installing SimCity 4 mods, visit:" .. http://goo.gl/QWUL5C When trying to get to this site it always comes up site not found...I tried slightly different iterations of it and still came up with nada. Am I missing something, is this a misprint or is it just not a site at all? I would like to get to this site, or the correct one, as I would like help installing the mods. Thanks for any light you could shed on this subject. Jerry

Is there any way to look at the top downloaded files for simcity 4? I can't find a way to do it. The only thing the advanced search will let me do is look for a specific amount of views or more. I just want to see all the top downloads and mods for simcity 4. Thanks

Weebly or WordPress or Something Else for Creative Site?

I been sitting on a domain name for almost a year now. I just didn't know exactly what to do with it but knew I liked the name "Worldesigner.org". Now I'm getting closer to it's definition. I plan on using it to showcase my love for creating environments and worlds in different mediums including paintings and 3D rendering and want to also showcase some city building from playing SC4 and Cities Skylines in an architectural light. Would love to maybe even feature some city builders from our community. The site is gonna have a lot of visuals in it and I want to make a store to sell items too. So it's not really a Blog site....(or is story telling with visuals considered a blog?) But I find myself going back and forth when it comes to choosing which builder to use for the site. On one hand, I wanna just go and use Weebly because it's faster and no going back and forth while designing. On the other hand, I'm wondering if WordPress being less proprietary would give me more freedom at the end of the day. But since my site will be heavily art orientated, I suspect I would be getting a lot of plugins for WordPress so to be honest, I'm really leaning towards Weebly because I won't have to worry about any plugins breaking from official updates or having to manually maintain them as I'm not that tech savvy and have yet to learn code. I just want to know if any of you talented geniuses in this community may have some insight. If you were building a site about making worlds, which one would you use? Or is there another solution? -
Back in October I made a thread about the painfully slow speeds here, and since then things have gotten worse. Not only are downloads VERY slow, with most downloads going at a few KB's per second, but now the whole website is getting very slow, and its been like this for a few months now. Sometimes, be it a 50 KB or 1MB file, my downloads drop into the Bytes per second range, thus some times tiny files take 5 minutes to download. I have a good fast connection with unlimited downloading, all other websites load fast and downloads go fast, but here its getting very slow, sometimes a page wont even load or the website gives me an error page. This slow speed not only effects the SimCity 4 stuff, but the Cities Skylines stuff as well.... This worsening problem is making me want to avoid using this website. What I usually intend to be a 5-10 minute mod searching and downloading spree ends up turning into a 2 day long wait for files as I wait for the mods page to load, then it takes a minute sometimes for the agree and download page to load, and then another minute to load up the download page, and then ANOTHER MINUTE for the download to actually start, which then takes 5 minutes for a 600 KB file... This problem is exacerbated when mods require dependencies Whats going on with Simtropolis? Is the website falling apart? PS : While I wrote this message, it just took me 24 minutes and 53 seconds to download a 637 KB file, an all time record for slowest download. Heres a link to the file I downloaded that took forever EDIT : I don't mean to come off as demanding, mean or rude, but its hard not to get aggravated when a website like Simtropolis, a hub for mods and dependencies, continues to chug along and get slower and slower with time.

WELCOME TO THE OFFICIAL THREAD OF THE SCD WEBSITE's DEVELOPMENT. Currently, I (and a few of my buddies) are working on a website called SimCityDefined, or SCD for short. We have already developed forums, groups, and news (or blog) for SimCity. What we need help with: - Mods: We want to have something like Simtropolis's STEX on our website, but being able to incorporate something like this on our website has been EXTREMELY hard, and we're looking for some pointers. - Forums: Unfortunately, we have had to result to using a separate link to forums, which is something we do not want to do. We want all members to be able to stay on the website without having to go to another one just to use the forums. Our problem is finding a forum developer (such as Mogito) that will allow us to keep the forums on the site, or just creating our own forums using html and keeping them on the site. - Groups: We have also had to resort to using Google Groups at the moment because we can't find anyone that can incorporate a Groups sort of thing onto our site. If there is anything involving html with this, we are happy to use it as well. - Pics & Vids: We're having trouble finding a way to allow members to upload videos and photos to our site with ease. If you can help us with at all, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, let us know what other cool features we can incorporate into the site. Thanks for reading, and help us now! -
