BSC Seaports work on the MAC Version, at least in my case, don´t know what version you are running. I´m still missing some dependencies for a few ports..... I made some weird experiences described in this topic, still don´t know if it is just a MAC issue:

BSC Seaports when plopped lead to 100% I-M Cap
simster007 replied to simster007's topic in SC4 - Custom Content
Well, I´m not sure about that, got the feeling this effect is just one more part of the issue. As described starting this topic industry demand caps reach 100% when plopping them in early development stages as well. Yes, I did not make any plugin alterations inbetween. I will try to check the files soon, just have to underline that I am no Reader specialist at all.... Looks like the natural location for plopping as it fits into the terrain logically. Needed lots of terraforming although -
BSC Seaports when plopped lead to 100% I-M Cap
simster007 replied to simster007's topic in SC4 - Custom Content
I ran again into the CAP issue when buildig the BSC ports. As it happened during normal gameplay my plugin folder was not emtpty, so maybe the issue is a conflict, I don't know... I first plopped three ports: SDP Small port/ BRT Seaport/ BLS Container Port. Unfortunately I was not happy with the position of the small Port so i demolished and rebuilt it a few tiles away and got the result: The I-M/ I-D CAPS did not reach 100% but went up to 51/ 69%. I quit, loaded the Backup region rebuilt the area and everything was fine. In a second step I plopped two more ports (BLS City Port and Mr Truesage). I had to rebuild both several times and I think I saved the Game inbetween, getting the result again: This time I-M/ I-D to 100% So, quit again, Backup loaded, rebuilt without destroying and rebuilding and everything is fine: The Job supply numbers in the Census report vary a little because I zoned some more industry inbetween. In my playstyle it is quite common to build, demolish and rebuild many lots. I think it is especially difficult to fit ports in their surroundings without demolishing them the one or other time. Did anyone else dicover this issue? What is the reason for it? OFF TOPIC: I'm quite happy with the result. I think the ports fit very well in the city (under development, I play very slow.....), what do you think? -
BSC Seaports when plopped lead to 100% I-M Cap
simster007 replied to simster007's topic in SC4 - Custom Content
As far as I know the BSC ports are totally different from PEG´s port -
Definitely not. It is one of the first plugins I installed and staid in my plugins folder since then.

In my case the mod works well in 99,9% of all cases. Place it once in a city tile and forget about garbage problems. It was a unique issue in that city tile that happened just a few days ago. So i don´t think it should be marked or banned. I did some research in my plugin folder: As far as I understand this just modifies the ingame recycling center - should it be called "cheat"?

BSC Seaports when plopped lead to 100% I-M Cap
simster007 replied to simster007's topic in SC4 - Custom Content
As i ran into the same issue again in my actual region, I tried to figure out if there is a plugin conflict: Plugin Folder: X Ports /NAM/ dependencies (datpacked) - empty city tile in a test region without neighbours, test region is just used to plop some NAM stuff. I could not confirm the issue until now, but I found out what happened in my actual region: Building a seaport, saving the city and deleting the port causes the demand caps to reach the 100%, even without running the simulation in between. What I did: Terraform the area for a big port, plop BSC Ports just to see how they fit (Small Port/ Container Port/ BRT Port), save to exit the and use the diagonal bridge enabler (makes terraforming on coastlines easier for me...). When everything was fine and the water back I deleted the ports and plopped eye candy port stuff to run the city until the BSC ports work (as I know there are these CAP issues). Start simulation again: CAP I-M + I-HT are at 100%, I´m actually not sure abou I-D. Today I tried the test in the empty city/region as described, no issues but deleting the port forces the Industry CAP´s going again to 100%. Maybe I just had to experience this to be more careful in the future? I could lower the CAP´s again with University/ Radio Station etc. I tried to solve the issue in the test region with the "CAP Lifter", but that was not as effective as I thought it would be (never used it before). How does this mod "normally" work? -
I experienced something similar: I use a modded recycling center (unfortunately I lost the info about it, don´t know which one ist....) that "normally" reduces all garbage problems to zero. One city tile under dozens suddenly went into the same garbage issue that you describe (in a very early stadium), solved it by plopping a different garbage disposal and: problem gone

Hi, you should find your plugin folder under: user/documents/SimCity 4/ plugins (hope that works, translated from german system). Most mods run without issues, there are a few limited to pc hardware (dll´s for example). You will experience some minor mac issues, but all in all it works well. Many mods are release as exe installers, unzipping as often described did not work for me, I use a very old netbook to install them there and shift them to my book via USB Sticks, that's just plug/ drop and play.

How to unlock shuttle launch station?
simster007 replied to Pepe The Great's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I think to unlock the spaceport you have to play the city tile in hard mode -
BSC Seaports when plopped lead to 100% I-M Cap

I think that I also experienced those effects not just in the I-M but in the I-HT sector as well. -
BSC Seaports when plopped lead to 100% I-M Cap
simster007 replied to simster007's topic in SC4 - Custom Content
Great that both of are investigating in that issue. I wonder why nobody else started a topic about this. The ports exist since years I guess. When plopped later in the Game with a solid amount of citizens and jobs in the city the ports work normal -
Thx for your reply. Your filler package is great and I never wanted to blame your work. I do understand that you and all other modders here cannot fullfill every users wishlist. Please no extra work for me! Unfortunately I do not know how to use the lot editor, but anyway: I found a workaround for my "overhanging issue" and: it´s just a game.....

BSC Seaports when plopped lead to 100% I-M Cap
simster007 replied to simster007's topic in SC4 - Custom Content
Just a quick and dirty demonstration of the issue with Mr truesages port: One Pic before it was built, One after. Demand has gone down and the caps rised IM is at 100% without much new development -
BSC Seaports when plopped lead to 100% I-M Cap
simster007 replied to simster007's topic in SC4 - Custom Content
It happened with a couple of them. BRT Seaport is one i can remember. I don't want to blame anybody, I´m just trying to understand what´s going on. BTW: I do not use CAM I will test that when RL allows me to and give you a feedback. -
I know your filler set and it is one that´s in use in my cities. But it dosn´t contain what I'm looking for. The diagonal industrial fillers don`have overhangs like the pavement fillers. Attached a jpg showing what I mean: Industry texture fillers that work as the pavement fillers next to rails

@SIM-ple Jack: Thx: This one contains what I was looking for: Was already installed in my plugins, but not properly (extenders and dependencies missing)....... Actually the lots don´t match the I-HT Texture, but I can live with it. Now the edges of lots facing diagonal roads and rails can be filled.

I´m using quite a lot of overhanging diagonal fillers in my cities. Unfortunately I can't find any of these containing industry textures (I-M/ I-HT), all overhanging fillers around just handle R/C textures. Does anybody has an idea?

Population and Job density are unrealistic
simster007 replied to Pepe The Great's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
There are mods dealing with that issue: a "residential halver" and a couple of job doublers/ triplers/ industry quadrupler.- 3 Replies

Can anyone answer these questions concerning road top stations? 1: I use a quite old set of stations because I like the diagonal options: Is there any reason apart from eye candy stuff to eventually switch to the newer RTMT V3.50? What do you suggest? 2: As I´m actually editing some issues with my transit lots I realized that all RTMT subway stations (checked three sets) do not show the number of underground commuters when using the route query tool. Is that an issue (maybe one more MAC version issue?) or is it just an unchangeable fact? How do the stations react when you use the query tool? 3: Some of uroncha´s stations contained the MAC Mass Transit Capacity REP bug. I fixed my versions (thx @rsc204 for the hints), unfortunately I can't remember which ones... (think it were mainly the diagonals). Is it worth updating these for all MAC users?
-
I think I went for the old ones from uroncha because of no dependencies.....
-
Yep, I must have messed up the NAM folder. Reinstalled it and everything works fine. Problem solved.
-
sorry, if i made a mistake.... understood, i just went over the installation of 3.5, will continue with the update now i will maybe keep the old diagonal stuff until the rtmt release RTMT V3.5 stations react in this way on my MAC Version as all other mods do. Is that a common feature of stations on roads? What is the reason for that?
