Can anyone answer these questions concerning road top stations? 1: I use a quite old set of stations because I like the diagonal options: Is there any reason apart from eye candy stuff to eventually switch to the newer RTMT V3.50? What do you suggest? 2: As I´m actually editing some issues with my transit lots I realized that all RTMT subway stations (checked three sets) do not show the number of underground commuters when using the route query tool. Is that an issue (maybe one more MAC version issue?) or is it just an unchangeable fact? How do the stations react when you use the query tool? 3: Some of uroncha´s stations contained the MAC Mass Transit Capacity REP bug. I fixed my versions (thx @rsc204 for the hints), unfortunately I can't remember which ones... (think it were mainly the diagonals). Is it worth updating these for all MAC users?

Chinatown Road, Avenue and Pedestrian Lane Canopies, by Mattb325. --------------------------------------- One of the things that is quite difficult to achieve in SC4 is roads and areas of a city tile that convey a 'sense of place'. In almost all cities and large towns the main shopping streets, cultural precincts and prominent thoroughfares usually have their own immediately recognisable style; whether it is from architecture or street trees and street furniture. That is the genesis behind this series of canopies: to denote a stronger sense of place at street level while being functional. This first set of canopies is based on the typical displays of red Chinese lanterns, dragon imagery and symbols that are found in the so-called 'Chinatown' areas of cities. The red lanterns cast a striking glow at night, the canopy is made in such a way to enable moving sims and automata to be visible through the bracing and your street lights and street props will also be visible underneath the canopy. There are 3 lots in this download, and each is functional. * A road-top bus stop. This lot occupies a 1x1 tile and is overhanging so that canopies can be placed adjacent to each other all along the roadway; * An avenue-top bus stop. This lot occupies a 2x1 tile and is overhanging so that canopies can be placed adjacent to each other all along the avenue; * A functional pedestrian-only laneway. This lot is 1x4 tiles long and must be joined to the road/street network and/or the NAM ped-mall pieces. --------------------------------------- IT IS IMPORTANT TO TAKE NOTE OF THE FOLLOWING POINTS: * While road-top/avenue-top bus stops can be safely placed next to a commercial building without any issues, they cannot be placed adjacent to a residential lot or you will get a no-car-zot. This is limitation of the game and I cannot do anything about this. The exception to this rule is where the residential lot is wider than the road-top bus stop: so for instance, if you place a 1x1 road-top bus stop next to a 4x4 apartment block, the apartment block will be fine, but if it is next to a 1x2 row house, then the row house will abandon because of no car access. * The functional pedestrian laneway is NOT a ped-mall; it is simply a pedestrian enabled lot. If you connect two of these lots directly together, SIMs will be unlikely to cross them (that is why a ped-mall piece is used to connect lots). --------------------------------------- The bus stops are found in the misc transit menu and have a capacity of 50,000 (and support all types of vehicles: pedestrian, bus, car, freight). The pedestrian laneway is found in the Landmark menu and provides a few jobs. --------------------------------------- STATS PEDESTRIAN LANEWAY: Lot size : 1x4 Bulldoze Cost: § 40 Plop Cost: § 100 Capacity Satisfied: CS§ 4, CS§§ 3 Pollution: 1 (Air)/ 1 (Water)/ 4 (Garbage ) Pollution Radius: 5/6/0 Power Consumed: 1 Mwh Water Consumed: 4 Gal/Month Occupant Group: Medium Wealth CS; Landmark --------------------------------------- STATS BUS STOP: Lot size : 1x1 (Road), 2x1 (Avenue) Bulldoze Cost: § 10 Plop Cost: § 150 Jobs: § 2 Capacity: 50,000 Pollution: 1 (Air)/ 1 (Water)/ 1 (Garbage ) Pollution Radius: 1/1/0 Power Consumed: 1 Mwh Water Consumed: 0 Gal/Month TSEC: 0.02 Monthly Cost: § 5 Occupant Group: Transport, Bus, Strikable Transit, Bus Stop, MiscTransit --------------------------------------- NOTE ABOUT DARK NITE vs MAXIS NITE: There are two model files in this download. You must select the appropriate file from the download. The file suffixed with 'DN' is for those users with a night-time darkening mod installed. The file suffixed with 'MN' is for users who do not have any such mods installed. If you are unsure whether you have a night-darkening mod installed, then choose the Maxis night version. If you use the dark nite version, you will need a dark nite mod. This mod is designed to work with Paeng's Sandstone Sidewalk and Base Texture Mod and Road Top Mass Transit (RTMTV3). Paeng's sandstone mod replaces the default Maxis sidewalk and base textures with sandstone textures. It does not replace any custom textures, however, such as those used by the Road Top Mass Transit (RTMTV3) stops. This mod replaces the custom base textures used by RTMTV3 with the medium wealth sandstone of Paeng's mod. It is designed to work specifically with Paeng's mod, but could also be used with other sandstone mods, although the textures will not match exactly. INSTALLATION Unzip the "zzz_RTMTV3_sandstone" folder and place it in your Plugins folder. It must load after the RTMTV3 to work properly. The files in the "SAM" folder are optional. They replace the base textures of the Street Addon Mod stops found in RTMT Add-On Pack 3.60. If you do not use these stops or want to retain the default textures for one or more of them, just delete the corresponding .dat file in the SAM folder. For example, if you want to use the default texture for bus stops on PEG Dirt streets, delete the "PEG_dirt.dat" file. DEPENDENCIES This mod is designed to make RTMTV3 and Paeng's Sandstone mod compatible. Road Top Mass Transit V3 RTMT Add-On Pack 3.60 Paeng's Sandstone Sidewalk and Base Texture Mod CREDITS Thanks to Paeng for his sandstone mod and the inspiration and guidance for this project. This pack contains a set of four subway stops stops that sit on a road/avenue tile and don't require extra space beside the road. This is very useful for busy downtown areas or areas where you've forgotten to put in bus stops but don't want to bulldoze. There are two sets of lots, each one with one road lot and one avenue lot. One set is just subway stops. The other set is a set of lots that act as both bus stop and subway entrance. The subway stops use a building family so you will randomly get one of three buildings; a plain set of stairs, a set of stairs with small newsstand, and a set of stairs with shop and lift. All are found together in the miscellaneous transport menu. The pack comes with two sets of textures for the roads. One uses the Maxis road textures and one uses the Euro road textures. Both will be installed when you run the installer. So you should go to the install directory (/SimCity 4/Plugins/deadwoods/DEDWD_RTSubwayStop) and remove one of the following (the one you don't want): DEDWD_RTSubwayStop_Euro_textures.dat, or DEDWD_RTSubwayStop_Maxis_textures.dat The specs on these lots are based on Cogeo's road top lots. See the readme for details. I often use these as an upgrade to my Road Top bus stops. When I need to start laying subway lines I replace the old bus stops with the sub+bus lots and then lay the subway underneath.- 86 Comments

UPDATE: 23.06.2022 for Project ZIP. Installer replaced with ZIP file and other housekeeping, courtesy of Tyberius06. This pack contains a set of six bus stops that sit on a road/street/avanue tile and don't require extra space beside the road. This is very useful for busy downtown areas or areas where you've forgotten to put in bus stops but don't want to bulldoze. There are two sets of lots, each one with one street lot, one road lot and one avenue lot. Set1 is a more run-down looking busstop, based on the prefab pebblemix concrete ones found in many Australian cities. Set2 are more upmarket with transparent glass. They also use a texture with a pull-off area so the busses can pull off the road (as found in many places). All are found together in the miscellaneous transport menu. Install: copy/extract the Deadwoods parent folder into your plugins. If you extracted the _Documents folder into your plugins, too, it's highly recommended to keep it, but move it out of the Plugins folder. The pack comes with two sets of textures for the pullouts. One uses the Maxis road textures and one uses the Euro road textures. Both will be installed when you extract the ZIP. So you should go to the install directory (/SimCity 4/Plugins/deadwoods/DEDWD_RTBusStop) and remove one of the following (the one you don't want): DEDWD_RTBusStop_Euro_textures.dat, or DEDWD_RTBusStop_Maxis_textures.dat The specs and transit properties of the lots have been updated to current days NAM standards. These lots are BSC Tracking Enabled (BTE) which means they may contribute to Reward Chains. Dependencies: BSC Textures vol01- 65 Comments
