  1. Venezuela

Absolutely stunning, especially the recreation of Auyan-tepui, which has to be some of the best unmitigated 'scenery porn' I've ever seen in SimCity 4. The sheer attention to detail is simply breathtaking! (As an aside, I can't even imagine the hardware necessary to render all those trees and MMPs... <.<)
  2. Chile

Amazing! These are simply gorgeous! <3_<3
  3. SimCity 3000 Unlimited Recreations

Wow! Not every day you see a CJ use SimCity 3000! And it looks utterly amazing!
  4. Vintage Routemaster bus reskin

Excellent! More vintage-style automata is always welcome.
  5. Questions About Custom Resolutions

Okay, so I didn't want to necro a two year old thread, obviously. Bad form, and all. But I was trying to do the hex editor tricks to enable high resolutions as shown in this thread: That was easy enough. I didn't have any trouble with the hex editor. But... OP said that they got crashes when trying to use the 1366x768 resolution. This was also the case when I attempted to do use that resolution; the game crashes every time you enter a city. But 'huzman' said they didn't have any trouble running at that resolution, at least on Windows 8.1. I'm on Windows 10, if that matters. Is there any information on a possible solution, or am I just out of luck? As an aside, I do think it's cool that people are trying to revive SimCity 3000 here. It was one of my favorite games as a teenager, that I played for countless hours back in the day. And in many ways I feel it stands out next to SimCity 4. I wouldn't say either game is 'better' than the other, but there are definitely things I feel SimCity 3000 got better. Mainly the artstyle. And if I can help 'keep the flame burning', as it were, then I'm eager to get back into the game again.
  6. Has anyone tried Reshade for SC4?

I'm honestly not sure the software could even support it. SimCity 4 is such an old game that it doesn't even have antialiasing support, IIRC.
  7. Old NYPD Headquarters New York

An utterly beautiful building. I was just thinking last night how it'd be nice to have a really gorgeous police station to accompany the L1 Central Station on the LEX, and what a pleasant surprise!
  8. Can't find it?... Ask here!

Never mind. I was able to get my old comp running long enough to just salvage the file myself. Here, have an image proving what I was asking for actually exists.
  9. RUM for RRW

A must-have addition to the already astounding RRW network. The Dirty Brick and Stone textures are simply gorgeous, and go well alongside Paeng's sandstone textures.
  10. Can't find it?... Ask here!

I had to switch computers because my old one is dying... so I'm having to start my plugins folder all over. But I can't find the Girafe God Flora mod anywhere, and searching both SC4D and Google haven't helped. I can find all of Girafe's actual individual flora mods easily enough, but not the god mode flora override.
  11. Fm Grand Rail Station PATCH

A simple but must-have mod, and the best-looking facelift for the Maxis grand railroad station; all without needing a bunch of dependencies.
  12. Paeng's Historic Castle Walls

This is without question one of the COOLEST mods ever made for not just SimCity 4, but any game! Who doesn't want to build a historic district in their city with actual intact medieval fortifications? Older European cities, like Vannes in Brittany, have preserved medieval walls, so this mod's ideal for recreating such environments.
  13. poll NAM Feature Usage Poll

Speaking as someone who's just gotten back into the game after a long absence, the components I probably use the most, or at least are the most fond of, would be Project Symphony, RRW, and the new L1 ERRW network. I find the latter extremely useful for making compact underpasses for roads and avenues without using FLUPs, and I also get a lot of mileage out of Mattb325's L1 stations on the LEX. I feel like the draggable L1 stuff is by far the most useful overall, and I hope it could get expanded in the future. L1 ELR would be amazing, as would improved L1 under L2 functionality. Right now, most L1 networks can't run under an L2 properly, they just revert to L0. But if that's some engine limitation or really hard to implement, I understand why it can't be done. I did say I use Moonlight's ELR 'alternate interpretation' in the poll, but I don't actually have it currently installed, and I feel like Maxis ELR actually looks fine as it is. I also make extensive use of draggable GLR, with the Original GLR Track Textures installed. ELR-over-Road is also something I use; and could benefit from draggable functionality one day, IMO. Tram-in-Road and Tram-in-Avenue aren't things I use, mainly due to personal preference. This is because I'm trying to make things look like a light metro network instead of trams for my current region. I say this fully understanding that it's not what the average NAM user is going for.
  14. Big Yellow Taxi

This remains my favorite taxi mod on the STEX, and I love watching them roll around railway stations and airports. These taxis are beautifuly done, and go perfectly with other vintage automata mods.
  15. Wave3 ElTrain Night Light Mod

I know it may seem weird reviewing a 13 year old mod, but I kind of like the look of the vanilla Maxis ELR network and automata, and I appreciate that bugfixes like this for Maxis content exist. This mod is still great for people experimenting with "vanilla plus" games, or who otherwise don't or can't bother that much with custom content, and just like seeing nightlights on their trains.
  16. Save Warning

I had no idea that Save and Exit to Region had a possibility for corrupting files, so this mod's definitely gaining a permanent spot in my Plugins folder. A must-have mod for people who weren't aware of this issue.
  17. Can't find it?... Ask here!

Okay, so I decided to create a vintage style city in SimCity 4, inspired by Vester's absolutely beautiful North American train automata on the LEX, and MikeSeith's 1960s Maxis Automata Replacement Modd here on the STEX. I've found a few other period-appropriate mods as well, except for one that continues to elude me. I could have sworn there was a 1960s-style GMC bus automata replacer, but I can't find it anywhere. If this mod doesn't actually exist, are there any possible alternatives I could use for a more vintage look?
  18. Introduce Yourself Here!

Hey everyone. I'm Susanna, or Suzie. I go by cydonianmystery or Cydonian Mystery pretty much everywhere except Tumblr, where the username got grabbed by a bot account (go figure, lmao). I've been getting back into SimCity 4 after a long absence, and it overjoys me that the game still has such an active modding community. I can't say I've made many mods myself, besides a plaza wall set that never got published. Basic BAT stuff, really. But who knows, maybe one day I can get back into things and do better.
