  1. I guess right there at the intro (under Getting Started) Maybe I didn't really read the directions properly but to me it made it seem like the two programs were the same, so I was opening Gmax instead of SC4 BAT, they also look identical when you open them save for the color scheme. I will let you guys make the call.
  2. You might want to add another addition to the guide that says something like "Make sure you open SC4 BAT and not the base GMax like that one asshole did''
  3. Well dont I look silly... Using the correct program would have been beneficial this whole time I guess
  4. Alakea Corporate Tower

Looks awesome with that reflection, and the building reminds me of Nakatomi Plaza from Die Hard
  5. Another day of running into a snag, the guide doesn't mention anything about textures for a window, is that done that same and textures for anything else? Also, the section where it brings up night lighting for windows seems to have another interface issue: It says bring up the utilities tab and then press the BAT button, I do not see a BAT button so I have no idea how to bring up this rollout for night windows, anyone have any idea what happened here?
  6. Cool, that's working now thanks. If anyone is curious, the guide here a little before the halfway down point was giving me those other directions, maybe it's an outdated version of Gmax but the guide has a method that did not work for me at all: Maybe an admin could review that section and make an addendum if it is incorrect, it is about 2/5 the way down, the section below this illustration:
  7. Ok, either I messed up or this guide is missing something, but this step has totally failed for me: When I choose "Standard" the guide says a window called Gmax material navigator is supposed to appear but it does not. I notice there is the Gmax Material Navigator in the toolbar up top but when I open that, the 'bitmap' option does not appear in the Material Navigator list, anyone know what is going on there?
  8. Show us What you're Working On

Time to learn the texturing part... (unless I screwed something up in the modeling part)
  9. Hmm, I only saw the part where the windows and doors needed the UVW map, maybe it's explained more about that later. I might have also missed it, thanks though.
  10. Thanks, it's coming along...slowly. The foundation makes sense now that you mention it... Another thing I was wondering, maybe too early to wonder about this since I've not arrived to the texture part of it yet, the windows and doors use this 'UVW Map', is this to give them a uniform texture later? I ask because I was wondering how that is different when giving texture compared to the walls/etc.
  11. Is it necessary to make a foundation (the red base) like the BAT guide explains?
Those look great, especially the corrugated tin fence
  12. United Labor Centre

That's a great little lot, great nightlighting too
  13. YouTube Headquarters

Your interpretation is much better than their gross green roof
  14. Hmm, I didn't see this guide before, I will look through it, thanks
  15. If anyone can show me how to use Gmax, I have zero clue how to use it and would like to try making a small W2W lot I drive by a lot: I have no idea how to even start, never used anything like these BAT programs before... Thanks
  16. Marcus Clark Building

Who says old buildings cannot have style
  17. Figure I'll finally try this Gmax stuff out (I have never used it before and have no idea what I'm doing), so if I were to try to create a lot of a nearby building, what do I need to do? Would it be best to start with a building that is not W2W?
  18. Capital Bank

So many quality banking buildings to choose from
  19. Lot Editor Expanded Preview Panel

Imagine Lot Editor not looking like it was made in 2002
  20. Lot Editor Expanded Preview Panel

The error described there sounds exactly like what was happened when I tried certain resolutions, the window never appears. I'm just glad to not have to view the lot through a periscope anymore...
  21. Lot Editor Expanded Preview Panel

I just can't get it to open in that maximum ratio, still a big improvement over the default: These were the best resolutions I could get, this is definitely not the worst result but if there's a way to maximize it, that would be awesome. Thanks again.
  22. Lot Editor Expanded Preview Panel

Ok, using only the -d:soft parameter, it opens, is this how it should look: And using only Windows 95 compatibility here's what happened:
  23. Lot Editor Expanded Preview Panel

This is with no extra parameters and the dat file, it does open but....
  24. Lot Editor Expanded Preview Panel

    1. Im using dual monitors, I dont know if that's a problem but on the monitor it should opening the res is 1920x1080 2. "Start in:" is blank after 3. Same error when I remove the dat file from my plugin folder
