  1. Cities Skylines: Fast Growth!

Nice, if you want to avoid destroying houses when upgrading roads, you might build houses facing the streets instead of main road and allow some margin between main road and houses.
  2. Maxis is history :(

Flight Sim is partly replaced by X-Plane developed by an independent studio. It is the outcome of the market competiton. It is a big loss to Flight Sim fans and the for-profit custom content providers considering the compatibility across the series. You can fly an FS 2000 plane downloaded from the Internet in FS 2004. But the series suddenly stopped. And the development of Microsoft Flight also stopped a few years later. In this sense, less damage is made by the closure of Maxis studio as there is no continuity for the latest SimCity series and we already have other viable replacement in the marketplace.
  3. Thank You, Maxis

The support for the game is more likely to be maintained by the community.
  4. st challenges Best Picture Competition

    Huston - 3 SimCoug - 3
  5. Let's get started!

You are definitely one of the early adopters. Looking forward to updates.
  6. Maxis is history :(

Jack Welch is the king of corporate management.
  7. ^ I wonder how heavy this basket is.
  8. st challenges Best Picture Competition

    JP Schriefer - 4 Ln X - 0 I just feel the picture is a bit blurred.
  9. The Story and the City

With all facilities, a self sufficient city.
  10. It is really cool. Nice photos with illustrations of the regional development. I still remember the days when I first played SC4, then the vanilla edition.
  11. modern NYBT?

What a marvelous project! The above comment is well echoed here.
  12. Check the location for the game. We've some expectation.
  13. My SC4 CJ Scrapbook | Important update and news!

Various combinations of heavily developed areas. Great attention to details.
  14. Best City Skyline

Cool pics. Only old New York City would tolerate a massive elevated railroad terminal near the City Hall. That demonstrated the priority of city planning.
  15. Show us What you're Working On

I like complex infrastructural layout. The construction projects help car owners gain easy access to many areas in the city.
  16. My SC4 CJ Scrapbook | Important update and news!

Lots of cool experimentation of road and building alignment, like park inside buildings.
  17. The low rises mix well and look real.
  18. STEX 100 Million Downloads!

    A major achievement. Congratulations!
  19. Ok, Lets Be Honest...

I see. Thank you. It's easier to start with flat terrain, esp. with transit networks.
  20. Ok, Lets Be Honest...

. Your statement is rather ambiguous. Do you mean like how in Cities XL, there's an existing Paris city with the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, and Notre Dame already there? Or are you alluding to something more like Google Earth in which you simply look around the city? Or perhaps a game like Sim City Societies where you plop several buildings on their own? Do you mean Cities XL has preloaded built cities by default? Building a city from the start is usually not what mayors encounter at the beginning of their tenure. It is challenging to push forward massive projects in a densely populated region. I prefer mostly growable and some landmarks with building codes. I simply cannot process the amount of details with a majority of custom ploppable buildings. Once again, I think Sim City 4 did this best. An optional toggle feature like in CXL is good (and preferred for me), but picking styles like in SC4 is also good. Yes. I need to find some way to reduce menu complexity.
