  1. SimCity 3000 BAT project

Amusingly I saw this, and a few other buildings remade on SimCity China too. They're not super quality though.
  2. Just doodling with some names for my future CJ.

You did a super job on these!
  4. SimCity 3000 BAT project

Prepo made the Plymouth Arcology as well ( the boxy/pyramid slanted one) you can find it in the sim mars download.
  5. SimCity 3000 BAT project

I think it's called Yokohama Landmark Tower, in well.. Yokohama/Tokyo, Japan, lol
  6. Haha, nice! I recently found about another suspended monorail one in Germany, this one looks really cool, with the old steel girders and the like.
  7. Oh yeah, I remember you, you should join us in the discord chat =P

  8. Greeeeeeetings, all - Welcome to my humble hut, here I'll present my current BAT projects, old projects that i rescued from the depths of eternal damnation and oblivion, as well as various other side projects, such as Automata models (models for the vehicles that drive around in the game) It's nice to be back into this, It's been over 7-8 years since I last touched a model. And as you'd expect I am a little out of practice, I'm trying to learn all the little tricks and doohickeys in 3ds Max 2011. Aside from that I do have something to show for now, I figured I'd start with something simple, so here's your average filler 1960s concrete building. Now as you can see, It has some render issues on the side there, suppose I'll have to remodel some stuff, it doesn't seem to like the model for the sidewall very much, Mighty funky indeed. Close up, just 'cos they look cool.
  9. I agree, I too am not a fan of some random Reddit dude including my uploads in some poorly managed pack. However I do think it might be time we at least take the step of setting up a commission, surveying BATters, etc. Sometimes if we want our community to live on, we just might have to take more radical steps, sure, some new players will just downpload mega packs, and never contribute, and that is fine. But as others have stated it might just make some of these initially not interested players actually interested in the community. Right now as it is, the way we have set up content is a huge barrier for newcomers, even I myself consider managing dependencies a pain sometimes. I'm sure us old weirdos will keep on uploading and downloading on a page to basis, 'cus that's what we like to do, browsing and picking what i want is fun. At least for me.
  10. I'd happily contribute all of mine to any future mega pack. HOWEVER, heavy scrutiny is needed, and someone with modding know-how *might* want to redo modding for quite a few of them, before putting them in a common repository. Sure, my BATs ( as the buildings) are known to have excellent/good/decent quality depending on the time of release related to my skill level, but the lots themselves are often not modded very well, it is what it is, I'm just not good at modding. =P I'm sure i'm not the only one here, if we want a huge total compilation of mods we want to give the best impression, don't we? But yeah, as for creator rights, I'm not a huge fan of people sloppily uploading my work, I have seen this before - A few jerks uploaded some of my work, as their work on the old SimCity.com EA official site. But if it's properly done, appropriate credit given etc I have no problem with it. Like Mattb I have seen a couple of my BATs on SimCity.cn ( Chinese site), Japanese forums etc. They gave me proper credit, they gave proper information, etc. No problems, fine and dandy. I think we should go through with this - if not everything, at least set up some sort of commission, ask individual BATters, MODers, Mappers, Lotters, and the respective Custodians etc. Just from that alone we could get a pretty good pack going. As for me, I'll probably still download BATs and Mods on a singular download to download basis, as I feel that works for me, but I understand entirely why someone would want megapacks, I have seen them for other games, even installed some for other games such as GTA V etc, and I very much like this way of distributing mods.
  11. Half Chase Building

aw sweet, I'd really like to make a few buildings for sc3k too, I still play with it from time to time, but the BAP blockyness kinda put me off making buildings for it. =P
  12. Half Chase Building

Nice, it looks really good! Out of curosity, how did you do this? It looks like a render, to me, instead of the standard BAP blocks, did you render the whole thing from an angle like in sc4?
  13. Glenni's BAT Viking Homestead

hah, Yeah, I figured I'd at least give this two stories though, as I have legit seen houses with 2-3 floor tall foundation in Norway, lol
  14. Glenni's BAT Viking Homestead

Ah, okay, i wasn't quite thinking of going that crazy, but one family for 12 house models, one family for 3-4 deck variations, and one family for about 4-5 house foundation models. That wouldn't be laggy for the game, would it? Anyway, here's the deck, rear deck stairs, house foundation, and front stairs.
  15. Glenni's BAT Viking Homestead

Ah, good, good. I was thinking of doing up to 12 variations ( if not more) White, beige, grey, black, brown, blue, yellow, red, green, purple, and a few brick variants. Here's the house photoshopped into a game screenshot, colours are still a little off, i'm tweaking them as we speak to try to match MaxisWhite etc.
  16. Glenni's BAT Viking Homestead

Huh, interesting question indeed, is there any limit to how many props you can have in a family by the way?
  17. Glenni's BAT Viking Homestead

So far this is what I got. The house model, the deck, which will be seperate, and a foundation for the house/deck that will show up on uneven ground. The only thing that's remaining is to make some stairs for the foundation: I was also thinking of doing a few variants for the foundation prop base by family props. So that it would appear randomly, concrete, more stone variants like this one, brick, plaster, etc.
  18. Take it or Leave it pack

Sure, they're not up to your usual standards, but you lost the ability to work on these, so I understand that completely, even so I will *take* this, and *leave* it in my plguins folder.
  19. Just thought I'd  drop by and say I just love those modern infill buildings you made, they look great among older w2w buildings!*:thumb:

  20. Glenni's BAT Viking Homestead

Yeah, it's a common problem with Photobucket unfortunately, unless you pay for their subscription, which I honestly wouldn't as there are better image sites, free, or paid. As for the foundation though. Do the LODs for the prop methos foundation have to be skin tight, or will they still blend with the terrain if you give them a general shape?
  21. Glenni's BAT Viking Homestead

Hm, there is one problem with your tutorial, the images are showing photobucket hosting limits, is it possible you could update it by using an Imgur album or similar?
  22. SM2 Dry Stone Walls

    Great for rural areas!
