I looked at it, decided to take a page out of Blackpool in England's page, a wide avenue! Not exactly what you had in mind, but as it's still a city set in the US but heavy French and British influence from it's past, I felt it would be still appropriate to have this. Speaking of that, just east of the city's Centrebourg is the colorful rowhomes along the beach front along with the Anglican-Episcopal Church of Saint Alban's

I see Schwegmann's too! As a Louisiana local, whew that is good! I grew up in the city Rouses got it start + its corporate HQ, if you need good reference stores let me know, I can find some!

@pclark06 Perhaps, this is a few things you may like to do! One is the Louisiana supermarket chain Rouses, and the other is the Alabama based Greer's. Both are old family owned supermarket chains, Rouses dominates a lot more of the deep south and Greer's is more localized in Alabama and Mississippi

Having not played SC4 properly in years, rebuilding my Plugins (Which has been hard with SC4 being gone!) then finding my flashdrive of old plugins that has made it with me to the move to Europe + thanks to debussyman for having the Cathedral in his plugins, was afraid it was lost with SimCity Plaza being gone but it has been saved! "Tired of the polluted, smoggy and congested downtown you live in? Or perhaps you are in the suburbs and it's too degrading on your mental health with its inhumane car-centric planning? Come take a weekend trip! Experience what it means to be alive on the beach!

Love the Pathmark! I'm going to hit you with another suggestion- this a defunct store. Woolworth did have stores that were stand-alone suburban stores, especially after they closed their Woolco stores and a lot of them converted to Woolworth or closed though they had suburban stores prior, I think people recognize the Woolworth name more than Woolco, and it be cool to have a proper Woolworth even if it a more suburban. They were a staple to so many towns & cities across the US. I more specifically think, a Pre-Woolco, suburban standing store would be a neat idea! I can do a mock up of what I mean in Sketchup, not good at 3DMax & all, and it would be a great design basis!

I get that entirely, they really tend to stay closer to Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi and Alabama- the very deep south. 79 stores is a good number but yeah they aren't the largest chain and probably wouldn't see a lot of use outside of CJs and cities set in the very deep south, where I'm from they were able to fend off Walmart and other larger retailers and they were one of the reasons why Winn-Dixie left the deep southern portion of Louisiana. "Rouses Markets is now one of the largest independent grocers and fastest growing family owned companies in the United States." part of my idea was it being one of the largest independent grocers not owned by a large chain, and family owned it may of been a interesting choice.

@RRetail Ever heard of Rouses Market. I call it the Louisiana equivalent to Publix, a mid-to lower upper scale supermarket. Be neat to see a newer or older Rouses design done. This is a newer Rouses design they began using a few years ago. This is a older Rouses, which looks more like your run of a mill, southern US grocery store.

Variety Stores too was why I threw it in, as CS Variety stores like old Woolworth, McCory's, or Kress buildings still were rather large. Being from southern Louisiana, a lot of older buildings often weren't too long in depth because of that ventilation problem so they often held shorter backs with just large patios on the back or semi-enclosed balconies in the back as most buildings there in the small main streets didn't feature light wells or anything like that. - As seen here most buildings were shallow in depth so it often led to smaller lot sizes and more buildings crammed into lots. One example is what's called Smoky Row in Houma. Though, there are exceptions I'll show you. . A lot of buildings often depended on length of the building vs. depth to help deal with the ventilation issues. The first building I posted, the Duponts got around this by just having inter-connecting buildings making up one larger store. T Now downtown Houma has one building that in game would be a 3 or 4 tile depth building, but to get around the issue they made it a narrower building. Now before the parking lot, there would of been that Penneys there, but lots like these you could with a narrower length and a deeper depth- could always be a row of buildings, or even just ploppable exclusive. Or this row that is just narrow shopfronts with a longer depth to keep up not needing a courtyard.

@Jasoncw I don't know if you have a love for department stores with all those you model- but I found that most of the ones you model are for high urban centers- so I thought of you when I thought of posting these to the BAT Request Thread! I love your department stores on Patron and plan to use them in my CJ but that's because they're beautiful - but also sort of the only ones that fit what I want Where I'm from in southern Louisiana, specifically Houma area- we had a lot of old department stores that I think would be very interesting to see in game- as well as more rarer, old five & dime and variety stores which we really don't have any but for the small one in the Smalltown USA set! The old Dupont's store cira. 1958, built in the 1840s and closed in 2002, it was the last department store in downtown Houma after J.C.Penney left at some point in the 70s and Montgomery Ward's closed some point in the late 70s-early 80s. Between 1956 and 1958 a large metal façade covered the original building which is the two story building in the back. The building today is a (awful) television studio, and they tried turning the metal facade into a New Orleans-esque balcony and butchered the building. It sits at the corner of Main and Barrow Street. The address is 7938 W Main St, Houma, LA. The old Richard's Variety Store, cira 1958. This later served as Laundry's Furniture before closing in 2021 due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, it's a five and dime/variety store located downtown. The address is 7802 W Main St, Houma, LA. Though not a department store nor a variety store when first built, the Knights of Pythias Castle Hall, built in 1896 had a General Merchandise store and a Post Office in it before becoming Fabregas Music. Sometime in the early 60s the buildings top floor windows on the front façade were covered up and the tower removed. The building was a dark maroon color. The address is 7821 West Main Street Houma, LA. The old Penney's building in Houma, at the time the address was 630 East Main Street before Main Street was renumbered. This building sat between Dupont's and the Bijiou Theatre. It was quietly demolished to make way for a large overhanging bank building that saw much of the block torn down, including the Davidson's Hardware (built in the mid 1800s), the Bijou Theatre, Western Auto and the old Citizen's Bank & Trust Building. Today the plot it once sat one serves as a parking lot for the Hancock-Whitney Bank Building. The address of this site today is 7290 West Main Street Houma, LA. The final building from Houma- are actually two! The former Morgan & Lindsey Variety Store and the old F. W. Woolworth on Main St. In the early 2000s after a century of its construction, and decades of the 80s till the early 2000s of neglect to the Morgan and Lindsey Building, the building was restored and received a balcony. The Woolworth became the Mardi Gras Hall and its historic porcelain sign vanished to the dismay of the historical society. The old Morgan and Lindsey, was built in the late 1800s before the variety store moved in and had a very large old cigar mural before the Woolworth was built. For this one I've added a few extra photos of the mural and both buildings. The address for the old Variety store, is the Corner of Main & Rousell - 7884 West Main Street Houma, LA and the old Woolworth is 7880 West Main Street Houma, LA. My final building comes not from Houma that I thought Jason would peak your retail curiosity! From the city of Opelousas LA, the old Abdalla's department store. They operated from 1895 to 2005, and owned most of the city block they sat on. Won't list an address as they covered most of their block in various buildings.

Chapter I: The Life in Downtown
Revyzer posted a City Journal entry in Commonwealth of Canderia [SC4]
It's a beautiful fall day, the city thrives, the streets of downtown busy, bells of the churches ring, people walk sidewalks talking on their phones, cars blow their horn, the air smells somewhat delightful. You are in Downtown Canderia, the heart of the city-state. The highrises and historic buildings create the everlasting image for you as you appear around the city, looking at storefronts, and the beauty that sits before you inside such a deep city, with it you visit the museums and get into the history of such a odd place. How could such a small city-state, survive being surrounded by the United States and Canada? Why has it never tried to join Canada, which acts diplomatically like it's sibling, it's brother? This place is rather strange, it shouldn't exist but, yet it does. The national flag of Canderia, which has been in use since 1833, but Canderia itself has been a British colony since 1598, older then Jamestown and other colonies in what would become the United States, it was a hugely important city for the British to keep especially during the Revolution, as it was a firmly British loyal city, defending itself from the Continental Army, it was given the best treatment from Parliament before, during and after the revolution, as it was not considered part of the 13 Colonies but instead as its own separate entity separated from the 13 Colonies. Though the flag itself, represents the War of 1812, when 2,000 American soldiers tried to siege the city from the British, the city only with 150 men, fended off the American forces with help of its heavily not passable Canderia Mountains, it is more of a feat when you realized only 95 of the 150 soldiers, had guns. The historic Canderia Summer Palace, today a museum and no longer used by the Windsor family, but remains a very popular tourist spot for those visiting the Commonwealth. Those this is where today, and since 1887 the Commonwealth has gathered with independence in 1925 it became Parliament Hall, before hand it was the Colonial Palace. It sits on the iconic downtown surrounded by modern and classical highrises, historical buildings, and many parks of the city. The historic Canderia First Bank Building, still in use by CFB today. The historic Customs House & Market Hall near the waterfront This is the historic Royal Hotel, where many world leaders stay at. It is 50% owned by the government, and the other 50% is owned by Canderia Royal Lodging Corporation. The National Hall of Canderia, home to the National Museum and Library, built in 1933, and is a major spot for tourists as it includes war pieces, as well as the stories of those who served in the world wars and old WW1/WW2 Equipment on display in the museum. Then on the opposite end, those who are Anglican can not threat with Saint Andrew's Cathedral, Canderia, in the historic core area of the city. Here is the city's Catholic cathedral, Roman Cathedral of Nativity of Our Lord, built in 1901. Here in downtown, the first picture sits the Debenhams Department store, built in the 1960s, and continues to remain open in downtown as a very high tourist and popular department store. The second photo is the old Staudenmaier Department Store, though the department store itself closed in 1997, the building remains standing flying a Canadian flag as at one time the top floors was used as the Canadian embassy and the flag remains today as a reminder of Canderia's closest ally, Canada. Though today, the largest retailer in Canderia is Kmart. You're thinking "What but Kmart is dying." Yes, in America. In 1993, Kmart's Canderia subsidiary broke off from the company to form the Kmart Corporation (Canderia), and it remains the largest retailer in the country. This is the Kresge Building (the blue building), the headquarters for the Kmart Corporation built for them in 1975, today Kmart Corporation remains far ahead of Walmart who struggles with outdated stores with high pricing, as well as struggling to win over customers with their reputation in America heavily known, Walmart entered Canderia in 1988 and has heavily struggled with it and other retailers in the country. The logo for the Kmart Corporation Debenham's Department store located across the Canderia National Police Headquarters Of course while you're in town why not catch a ballgame at Kmart Field? It's home to the best, and only MLB team in the country! One of two outside of the USA with the Toronto Bluejays! The Canderia Ducks! There is also near it is the famous CCBC (Canderia Commonwealth Broadcasting Corporation) Stadium, home of many events and concerts & FC Canderia. Of course near it, is one of the most important and historic universities in the Commonwealth, McPherson Methodist University named after Edward Genes McPherson who in 1798, brought Methodism to the colony, and when the Methodist college was established in 1833, it was named in his honor. Though, those who do not have the desire to learn the Wesleyan way, will often attend National University of Canderia. A much smaller scale university but still a very efficient and highly ranked among universities across North America. The conclusion but not forever, as we will travel out downtown and see suburbia and the great stoutness that this city-state holds outside the downtown.- 5 Comments

Oh my gosh, it would have to be Sharknado, I watched it with my Girlfriend and why is it so insanely popular? It has the dumbest concept, a extremely weak story, and overall, it's to me just a dumb filler movie for the people who have nothing in their lives to do, except watch Sharknado, or any of its sequels, it just induces people in the fear of sharks that does not actually exist, as it's actually really rare for a human-shark contact incident to occur, it just creates a fear factor that does not exist in real life. The extremely weak narrative, horrible visuals, bad acting, and causing sharks to have a even worse reputation then they already do (thanks to movies like Jaws which still is actually pretty good!). A lot of the times the visuals don't make sense, like in some scenes the time of day can switch BACK AND FORTH in a scene in the movie. I will give it a positive note, the movie was so bad, I was laughing the entire way through with how bad the entire movie is. What is the worst car you ever drove, either cause it broke down so much, it was uncomfortable, or whatever, it's your answer not mine?
