  1. Commute and Interchange headache

Hello PaleoCardio The RHW has faster speeds so the simulator picks the fastest route even though it is longer. So to make the sims use the interchange you either have to change the speeds in your NAM installation (This can be done with the Traffic Simulator Configuration Tool in the installation) or The other option is to condense the interchange to reduce the chances of the sims using the highway instead. Either one or a combination of these should work. I would recommend changing the interchange first. -eggman121 (NAM Team Member)
  2. NAM issues

Hello Olegario39 I take it that you want the Maxis Highway Override removed and the Dirt away from the Rail network. To get rid of the Maxis Highway Override, delete the Maxis Highway Override folder in the z__NAM folder. The MHO is the RHW type network for the Ground and Elevated Maxis Highway. That should remove your problem there. To get rid of the brown dirt on your railways you need this package. That is if you intend on using Maxis Rail. Very distinct from the RRW! You need to specify the options in the installer. There is an option there to make the dirt transparent, aka no dirt on the railways! The Dirt issue is only addressed with Rivit's wizardry. All NAM packages will have the dirt issue so you need this download to fix it. -eggman121 (NAM Team Member)
  3. NWM/ Elevated rail

Yep the ERRW is due to make its final appearance after a long time in time in the making. We can't wait to unleash the possibilities for this long awaited feature. -eggman121 (NAM Team member)
  4. MGB Lot and Mod Shack

Here is a preview of a Maxis type texture that can be applied to the automated process... So this image illustrates the Maxis default with the RRW comparative. It will never be 100% similar but for all the holdouts out there we really want to get you on board. Hopefully this will be a game changer for you. Since the NAM team only focuses on the RRW for Rail, we really want you on the journey. We really are trying to make the switch easier for you. As it currently stands the Puzzle pieces and Flextrack are 99.99% covered There may be some odd bits that will be ironed out in the test phase. -eggman121
  5. Welcome our new Staff Members!

First of all congratulations to all the new moderators that have been allocated. I know many of the moderators from other sites and I can agree more with Jasoncw! Many of the Moderators are members on other sites as well I know they have a great reputation and are frequently helpful! I think with cross site support different sites can support each other for the preservation of such a great community that has been built up with fundamentally great people. Many of them I regard as close friends as well. We are all in for it together. -eggman121
  6. Network Widening Mod Viaducts??

Speaking of Smoother curves The wider curves are currently unreleased for the RHW (They exist for the RRW however) and the 3 smaller curves are in the current NAM. Smoother curves are on the way for the NWM and REW as well. -eggman121 (NAM Team Member)
  7. Issues with NAM

Hello RichardCollins If you can post some pictures of the problems you are having than we may be able to sort something out. Visuals are very good for bug fixing. Are there any types of networks you want to use? If so run the custom installer and check the appropriate buttons. I am more than happy to help -eggman121 (NAM Team member)
  8. Need Help to Escape SC Devotion Ban

Can you please elaborate on what topic you where referring to and how long ago this occurred? That may be a case to enable you to get membership again. Of course it is out of my hands but we have users from SC4D using this site, (myself being one of them) and Tarkus is the main administrator there and sometimes comes over here to answer NAM questions. That may help although I do not know when the post was. He may have more of an idea about circumstance. I can pass on the message but those are the limits of my powers. -eggman121
  9. How to get rid of RealRailway

Already on to it As the lead developer for the RealRailway I do want to make custom alternate sets. Your help on the mechanics has been fundamental! -eggman121 (NAM Team Member)
  10. How to get rid of RealRailway

There should be a cleanitol check box under the main files in the custom install. check that and it should find the RealRailway and remove it for you. -eggman121 (NAM team member)
  11. How to get rid of RealRailway

Run the custom option for the installer and de-select the RealRailway option. Please note however, The maxis rail has not and will not be updated. The last update for maxis rail was in NAM 30. We are currently experimenting on different automated styles for the Real Railway to address your concerns about the style. So please note that the functionality in the RealRailway is not on the maxis rail. So the new FARR angles and draggable turnouts are not part of the maxis rail. Hopefully that will answer some concerns if you wonder what happened to the new functionality. -eggman121 (NAM team member)
  12. NAM: Requests - 2nd Edition

I have toyed with this idea for a while now. I would love to see functional pedestrian overpasses and given a range I could probably be able to make a draggable format of the Elevated Ped Malls for NAM. It could hinge off the Drag road viaducts. rsc204, You could adapt the MIS elevated geometry and add custom textures for the draggable form if you are thinking what I am thinking than the models already exist. All we need is custom textures. You have curves in R1 already set to go but I would start with orthogonal geometry first. -eggman121 (NAM Team Member)
  13. Train changing tracks from station.

    From the album Railroads (S3-16-W)

A train changing track. A bit of cheating since there are notes of NAM 35 development. This picture shows a train changing tracks through a complex set of turnouts or switches. -eggman121
  14. Show us What you're Working On

Well well well.... I have a surprise for you Just dusting off a bit of work I done ages ago. -eggman121
  15. Questions about SimCity 4 transport

I may just poke my head up here. You my sir are fine to use the Maxis Rail. Nothing will ever stop you. I just need to put in place a reminder that no additions will be added to Maxis Rail! With the current standard and future plans there will eventually be customization ballast and sleepers to your specification for the RRW. There are certain fundamentals that allow that to happen. With myself, simmer2, rsc204, woodb3kmaster and the NAM team and others there will be a drift away from maxis rail en mass if it is not happening already. We can't have two competing standards. So that is my spill for now. -eggman121
  16. Ditching Windows 7 for Linux Mint 18

Thanks for the trail of gmax Catty Wow this is a real step forward in avoiding Windows 10 for content creation. One thing I could suggest is that you could run SC4 on WINE. It works better with digital copies but if you have a disk copy it is worth a shot. I have tried SC4 on Wine and have had some success in the hardware rendering so far. Depends on the settings I guess as well as the copy you have. I personally use my GOG copy. I may have a go at some of this on Ubuntu. -eggman121 (NAM Team member)
  17. Ditching Windows 7 for Linux Mint 18

Thanks for starting this thread up Catty I think with all the changes happening on windows I plan to update to linux assuming some of the NAM modding tools work since I still want to continue working on the NAM. Luckily enough I still have my old laptop which had windows XP which I have loaded Ubuntu onto and have put on VM virtual box. I do have an installation disk for linux mint however. I am keen to see if you can get Gmax and associated tools to work in some way on this platform? -eggman121 (NAM team member)
  18. NAM: Requests - 2nd Edition

Yes I have a lot of content to make and am slowly getting a set of content together. Short term is getting NAM 35 out. Than there is the new BTM to be made and coded as well as smooth curves for the NWM and wider ones for the RHW. The light rail network will be a bit more tricky due to the variety of uses the network has. Don't worry. I am working on a solution. -eggman121
  19. Show us your Railroads!

Great work @Simmer2 Can't wait to see your next project get rolling along Here is my latest effort on the new BTM front... Curve to diagonal R3 type L1 ERHSR with a Train crossing I really appreciate the feedback coming from my first few images. Gives me inspiration to keep going on! eggman121 (NAM Team Member)
  20. Show us your Railroads!

A bit from the experimental Lab These are still a work in progress. Overpass and Underpass functionality will come later during the build. This also includes new stations for the new BTM which borrows principles from the Real Railway Mod. Some of you are probably wondering what has happened to the HSRP BTM mod I made last year? Here are some of the results! -eggman121 (NAM Team Member)
  21. Extra Support Pylon

The mod should definitely work on NAM 34. Being the one that made the mod I am certain that it will work. Nothing has changed to prevent it from working. -eggman121 (NAM Team Member)
  22. This poll is to guide the development of the High Speed Rail Network and Monorail network and the NAM Team would appreciate your feedback on this Poll! So, If you have some time, Please fill this in. -eggman121 (NAM Team Member)
  23. We will see what people have voted for once we crunch the numbers. Although this is a poll, the previous options will still be available. The support for them will however be limited. The poll was designed to see how the users use the monorail network (regarding looks and functionality) and If they want any enhancements. There is only so much time and resources that the NAM Team has currently and streamlining the content to fit a set of standards will help in future development. I know some people will be unhappy with the decision made (like all democratic processes), but a poll was deemed the best way to evaluate which direction we take with this issue. -eggman121 (NAM team Member)
  24. Problem with RHW curve

Well you can actually drag the R3 which is derived from the R2 curve. The Draggable components are actually the main parts and the FlexCurve piece was actually made as an extra. Here is a link to a video I made: https://youtu.be/oInEuePn8Po Hope this helps for the time being! As compdude787 has said there is a holdup due to RL and lack of resources of releasing the Full release. -eggman121 (NAM team Member)
  25. Show us your Railroads!

Oh so many great photos I have made some myself testing the FlexTrack for the RRW plugin. These will become available in a while! There are many more pieces. Basically everything except FAR content will be Draggable -eggman121 (NAM Team member)
