  1. NAM 40 Now Available

NetworkAddonMod_NAM_40_REWfix.zip can be found here. Unzip and put into your plugins folder. Perferably the (Plugins\Network Addon Mod\1 Core) Folder. All it takes is one erroneous symbol (In this case a "tab" key) was pressed and cut off the code below. Thanks for the report. If there are any other specific issues please bring it to out attention. -eggman121 (NAM Team Member)
  2. NAM 40 Now Available

A patch is being put together for Re-Intergrating the REW content for NAM #40. We know the issue and once patch has been tested will post it as soon as possible. Apologies for the inconvenience. The FLEX Ramps (Non Draggable) arn''t in NAM 40 -eggman121 (NAM Team Member)
  3. Post Modding Requests Here

Tarkus SC4 on Twitter may have some answers Here.. Anyhow... This is all I could find... Anyway, Happy Holidays for easter.
  4. Show us Your Interchanges!

That actually looks quite sleek for the space constraints to be honest. Kudos to your work. I actually quite like the design. Keep up the good work! -eggman121 (NAM team member)
  5. NAM 36 has been discontinued for some time. So you can't get a copy and I for some reason you do, There will be 0% support. Only the latest NAM edition are supported. The SC4D LEX, STEX and MOD-DB all have a copy of the latest Network Addon Mod. NAM 39 as of time of writing. If there is an issue or a specific request We are willing to help but will not give access to previous NAM editions! -eggman121 (NAM Team Member)

Nice use of the MRCs Matt. Your work is always very impressive. eggman121 (NAM Team Member)
  7. NAM: Requests - 2nd Edition

That's the aim of the Hybrid Railway or HRW. Abe-it with just two transit types supported. That is heavy Rail and Monorail/ HSR. More will be done in this space post NAM 40 so NAM 4x post NAM 40 should have some new pieces for the expansion of the HRW. For all who are following, I do plan to make more HRW content. One of the limiting factors are stations for the new network. Once I have made a bit more content I will be reaching out to Loters and BATers to see if anyone is interested. In the meantime If anyone would like to make and/or Lot some BATs for HRW I would be more that happy to facilitate that. We (The NAM team) have our specs handy and are ready to assist. @Tyberius06 Has the details thus far for Loting a station for the HRW. -eggman121 (NAM Team member)

My foray into Automata Modding... The Australian BL class locomotive with Australian National Livery Suits the RRW I think I will make some more models as time permits. Constructive criticism is welcome. -eggman121 (NAM Team Member)
  9. Sorry to quote what has already been said but I think we may have dodged a potential disaster here. Way back, the user requested that there items could not be used as "dependencies" for other lot etc... This probably saved alot of broken Lot since some creators and Loters may have used these and overnight they may have gone for good breaking alot of good work and will on other Modders parts. So, the thing I am aiming at is that Is the an "option to opt in or opt out of your creations being used as a dependency?" If an item is listed as being "available as a dependency" than that would mean that the original creation would stay available in some form on the site since it forms the basis of other ppls work. There should also be an option to opt out of your creation (Lots, Textures, Buildings etc...) being used as a dependency. I think team and moderators should have a private discussion around this issue since it hits the very core of creativity. Some ppl have different strengths and weaknesses and the option to use parts of others work in a creation has been a thing for quite a while! I will wrap this up here but I think something around this should be debated in private! -eggman121 (NAM Team Member)
  10. Hybrid Railways and caterneries

Hello @tmorgan96 First of all thanks for your kind words about the rail workings! @rsc204 is quite correct. The retrofitting of the centenaries on the base RRW (which was toyed with since the RRW's Conception) was going to be quite a struggle especially due to the scope of the project and subsequent expansions made it unfeasible to say the least. So the HRW or Hybrid Railway was the best way to get the catenaries into the NAM. Being a new project with a smaller tile set meant that catenaries where quite feasible on the HRW. I am glad you like the catenaries poles. As for the flying junctions bit. I do have some plans (Time Pending) to make some specific models that will suit RRW and HRW. But they are still being experimented on at the moment so I don't want to divulge too much. And you say that you are not able to place any of the Rail switches? If you have been a long term NAM user it may pay to check that the Z_NAM folder has been removed from your plugins. The RRW Core file is contained withing that does not have the FlexPiece code for the plop-able switches. I'm trying not to get more technical but the RRW INRUL files are in the actual NAM folder itself. So, If you have upgraded from a pre-Cross Platform NAM edition (NAM 36 and previous) Please check that the Z_NAM folder has been pulled from your plugins. Bed time in Sunny Australia. Thanks for the pings @Tarkus and @rsc204 -eggman121 (NAM Team Member)

Hi @rails_etc There are a few items that could be causing this issue... 1) the overrides have not completely covered the switch bit. 2) There is an outdated INRUL file is still in you plugins. (Most likely in a Z_NAM folder) the Z_NAM folder is no longer needed in NAM 37 onward and should be removed to eliminate conflicts with future NAM content. I did test but could not replicate the issue. Which suggest the latter. -eggman121 (NAM Team member)
  12. You can export models using the quake .md3 extension Plugin to Blender (an open source Modeling suite). Be sure to use an earlier version like 2.79b Link: https://www.blender.org/download/previous-versions/ I have some saved to my computer but since they are not my items I will only share if permission is granted. For now here are some links to the items for the scripts... Exporter for Gmax to .md3 = (http://pages.videotron.com/browser/) I don't know the exact link but to get the models into blender 2.79b you could use a script like this one. .md3 Importer into Blender 2.xx = (https://wiki.blender.jp/Extensions:2.6/Py/Scripts/Import-Export/MD3) @pierrebaptiste Please let me know of any issues. I should be able to help. A you can see... the .stl format is listed here for Blender 2.79b. I use this one since it can export into .3ds which is useful for NAM projects. -eggman121 (NAM Team Member)
  13. NAM RealHighway Causing No Road Access Icon

Hello, NAM Team Member here. The RHW base network (AKA Dirtroad in technical circles) cannot accept frontage traffic. The network has since been designed for highway use where frontage road is not a feature just like most IRL freeways, motorways, expressways etc. Frontage traffic is what we term to be from Lot to network traffic. I'm sure @Tarkus will chime in here at some point. He is the main developer in this space. So, If you want your sims to use the RHW you have to use other networks like Streets, Roads, One way roads and Avenues to collect the traffic from the houses and than use the RHW as a highway system for transiting them a longer distance that would generally otherwise be achievable. Hope that clarifies things. -eggman121 (NAM Team member)
  14. Nvidia Surround worked on my machine but you need to change some things in the Nvidia control panel. You have to set the acceleration to GPU or if you zoom in and out in game you will get a CTD. One other quirk is that the UI gets cut in between the monitors so some navigation there is needed. This is really a nice find by @Durfsurn -eggman121 (NAM team member)

@Barroco Hispano Lovely work here. Just wondering... How to you plan to export these creations to SC4? I would like to BAT some new catenaries sets for the Hybrid Railway HRW and would not mind some pointers. Glad you could get you new PC up and running -eggman121 (NAM Team member)

Nice work @JulianMIA You are showing the RRW some good justice I am glad to maintain the RRW for this very reason. Here is something on the same theme. The flat bed wagons and containers are skinnable so if desired you just swap out the UVW Unwrap FSH with a custom one. You have to keep the same locations for the various components however. Hope to release these one day when all is ready -eggman121 (NAM Team Member)
  17. NAM 37 Now Available

Hi @FireSka Glad I could help in the previous post. Now too your setup... Such a sharp turn is not supported by the RRW. Too tight curvature! I would... A) Widen the geometry or B) Remove that movement and place a station down the line to support that movement. The original founder was a rail engineer and wanted the RRW to be more like the real deal you see at Railways in the world. Something I have maintained. It does add a bit more complexity but can add for some more creative setups. -eggman121 (NAM team Member)

As my civic duty I will help. Attached is the slope parameters you need to Un Check. for you to use the RRW with another slope Mod. They come under the name of C_RealRailway_Tunnel which in turn is the Tunnel and Slope Parameters. Delete the current Network Addon Mod folder and uncheck the folder icon with the given name, (C_RealRailway_Tunnel) Please reply back on any issues that arise to this matter. As for the Legacy plugin. That still needs to be assembled at this stage. -eggman121 (NAM Team Member)

Good Pickup on the link. Did the link in the post work for you for just the simplified program? We decided to change the installer to better reflect content going forward. There was only one (1) person who could work with the old installer and it was a nightmare to have testing packages let alone a full release. The Java installer eliminates this issue with the installer being so complex as well as allowing it to run on Mac OS and Linux. Something that has be temperamental at best to get working. Based on the feedback I will see what we can to to ease the install burden. -eggman121 (NAM team Member)
  20. NAM 37 Now Available

To run the installer you only need the Java Runtime environment . https://www.java.com/en/download/ No accounts need to be made if you are just using the redistribution software AFAIK however I think the License agreement has changed. As of April 16 2019. An image of what the splash screen looks like is attached to this post. If all goes well. Enjoy NAM 37 -eggman121 (NAM team Member)

Hi @junspud Indeed this piece is to transition between the reskin and default textures when the reskin sets get uploaded post NAM 37. This is because not all sets of lot textures have been converted to the reskin and allow the use of the reskin and default textures in a seemless manner. - eggman121 (NAM team member)

Hi @thingfishs. I did go to Adelaide last year for a trip with my GF (Lovely city BTW) I drove from central Victoria, Oh dear how times have changed in terms of world events. I did have the plan to check out the O-Bahn but it never eventuated. I was staying in at a caravan park in Brighton and I must say South Adelaide is really lovely. The Seaford Line made traveling to the CBD really easy. I must say, She wants to go back some time. Than I can Really check out the O-Bahn. Back to topic. From my recollection the Right of way for the O-Bahn was originally planned as a Freeway alignment to the north in the MATS Metropolitan Adelaide Transport Study but ended up being the O-Bahn. Quite a better use actually. For SC4 I think that it would be possible to make a version of the new network to the specifications by the way of an override. Since the new Road network will have overrides, I could make an override set for a Guided bus Network. I am still in the creation stage of the two new networks but the O-Bahn could be the the type of project that the new road network could utilize. Thanks for bringing this to my attention -eggman121 (NAM Team Member)

Thanks @Lucario Boricua I adjusted the parameter in the Slope for the RRW to fit into the different player styles medium. So that is why the slopes are a bit more tolerant as compared to the current slope mod you are using. Also the tunnel included in NAM 37 is a new style and will need to be referenced by the current slope mod if it is to be used. That said I will see about fitting in more varied RRW slopes to conform to users tastes in the future. -eggman121 (NAM Team Member)
