  1. Hello, I want to create some streets in my town. However, the default street texture is bad on my eyes and I like the texture of asphalt street. So, I want to ask: How I replace the default street texture with SAM's Asphalt without any starter piece? Thanks.
  2. I have been trying to create a sunken RWH highway with an overpass that uses the SAM 4 lane narrow but I can't seem to get a handle on it. Should it be like making an overpass with with RWH pieces? Any tutorials on how SAM interacts with RHW or am I totally overthinking this?
  3. SAM 1 Override

    Version 1.1.1

    4,931 Downloads

Here is the SAM1 override - a little mod that will reskin your SAM 1 textures and display new props for your greater pleasure! A small variation willl occur on some textures and props (as can be seen on screenshots), depending of zoning. Not much else to say, but keep in mind that SAM 1, despite how it looks, does not have parking functionality: it's only purpose is eye-candy. UPDATE 1.1 A fellow member brought to my attention a problem with the plugin - possibly due to the use of HD props and its incompatibility with software mode. For those who use software rendering and/or prefer to use SD props, a new iteration of the SAM 1 override has been created. The mod is now divided in 2 distinct folders: one for HD, one for SD. Please only use one at a time. What's in the packs? HD Props pack SAM - 1 - Parking Lots Textures.dat: contains the new textures specific to the HD setup SAM - 1 - Type21.dat: T21 files for HD car props Bollard.dat*: small post model Grfe_Cars_family_props.dat*: turns those bootiful car props into bootiful family timed props Lot Textures.dat: lot textures for overriding SAM1 - style parkings SD Props pack SAM - 1 - Parking Lots Textures.dat: contains the new textures specific to the SD setup. SAM - 1 - Type21.dat: T21 files for SD car props Bollard.dat*: small post model Lot Textures.dat: lot textures for overriding SAM1 - style parkings * files already used in the overhanging parkings: if you have the overhanging parkings in your plugins, you can delete them. Installation Must load after the NAM. You can also replace the texture and T21 dats directly in the SAM folder if so you desire. Dependencies (all optional beside the NAM - not having these will not trigger BB's) NAM with the Street-Addon-Mod installed BSC MEGA Props - SG Vol 01 BSC - VIP girafe carpack vol. 1 & 2 (HD version only) Neko Prop Set vol 03 (only Neko_Fence_Black_2m.SC4Model and Neko_Fence_Black_2m.SC4Desc are needed) Strongly suggested for users of the SD version The T21 file that generates props use Maxis family cars as default; it's very likely you'll want somethng better to replace them. Choose one of the following replacement mods (they all supersede Maxis family cars), depending of your preferences: 1960s car replacement Mod Japan car replacement Mod European car replacement Mod Jim's car prop pack 1.2 Credits -special thanks goes to Mr. Jim, the author of this excellent and highly recommended Parking set. The textures used by the SAM1 override are based on his textures and inspired me to create this mod. ありがとう JIM! Suggestions or Problems with this mod: report here please
  4. I depend a lot on the shortcuts (hotkeys) of the game. I have learned a lot of them from the vanilla SC4D, but I can't find the ones for NAM, SAM, CAM and other ones. Do they exist?
  5. Alrighty, lets get started! A few years back, Thianz made a mod that turned the networks into a grey ash color, like most streets in the U.S. The only problem with this, is that this was years ago, and doesn't include the RHW, NWM, some of the NAM or many normal network textures. The point of this mod is to make SimCity evermore realistic. While a lot of roads are asphalt/dark, here in the US and other places, more are concrete/grey. I myself will use and enjoy this mod very much, and We hope others will too. News 2/21/2016 - Completed 'draggable' road viaducts with a new shade of grey. New standard shade for the project. As of Thursday, February 4th, 2016, Very little work has been made since the last update. However, I'm thinking of starting work on this once more. Anyone still interested? The Grey Network Mod Team Myself Pictures! 2/12/16 - New road viaducts. Note: Some textures are not implemented yet. ___________________

Introduction This mod is totally based on Neko Panchi's sidewalk mod – it is aimed at players who enjoy using the mod but use RHD in their game. Those who already use the mod will notice some minor changes – a few props were added (mostly road signs) while others were replaced (traffic lights & lamps). Also the mod received a little extension – SAM10 streets (for Residential & Commercial zones only) and SAM7 (Industrial zones only) were added. Folder description zCoreFile folder contains the main T21 files Dependencies folder containis models and family props zReplacement folder contains a file that will replace default maxis lamps and traffic lights by Mandelsoft & Neko Punch models Installation Please refer to the enclosed readme.pdf Dependencies Neko Panchi JPN Sidewalk Mod and subsequent dependencies : Neko Props set 1 (part1) (part2) Neko Props set 3 LRM Props Pack vol 01 LRM Mega Pack vol 04 MAS71 Prop Pack vol 01 MAS71 Prop Pack Vol03 Aqua877 props Jondor's Modular RR Props Credits -A huge thank you to Neko Panchi for his awesome creations. MGB presents... Cataylst's SAM7 Bikepaths V2.1 Note: For the Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) variants of SAM7, please click here instead. Installing this mod will change the regular SAM7 Asphalt streets from the NAM to new ones which include bikepaths. Options include LHD/RHD and EU/US Textures so this should work well with almost everyone's configuration. Every one of the SAM textures has been remade so you should not end up with any unmatched parts, this includes the Wide Radius Curves from the NAM's Rural Roads feature, a replacement for the RTMT on street SAM7 stops and for the High Speed Rail over SAM7 street. There are also two options for the rail crossing textures to match both the Real Railway (RRW) and PEG's 205 Rail textures. V2 Features Further texture improvements. Thanks to Girafe for feedback. Additional (optional) T21 mod for adding bikes onto the streets New installer, makes installation much simpler. Please remove old versions before installing. TGN-Compatible versions of SAM7 now available. Dependencies The base mod is simply a texture override for the default SAM 7 streets that comes with the NAM, therefore the NAM and specifically the Street Addon Mod (SAM) must be installed for this mod to work. There are no dependencies required for the base texture mod, however certain addons require dependencies as follows: Base T21 Mod BSC - VIP girafe - MGB204 bicyclepack vol. 1 Girafe_Bike_T21 Prop Pack (included in download) Extended EU Roadsign T21 Mod BSC TSC French Road Signs by Girafe French Road Signs Prop T21 Overrides (included in download) Jondor Type Rail Crossing T21s Modular Railroad Crossings by Jondor BSC TSC French Road Signs by Girafe (optional - if installed a European-style road sign will appear on affected crossings) RUM for RRW by Rivit (optional - if installed, along with Plundare's catenaries, these will be extended to the SAM7 crossings) Please read the included readme, as always it contains important information that will help to ensure this mod can be installed without any problems arising. You can find this in the My Documents\SimCity 4\LEX_Downloads\MGB Mods folder. If you have problems or comments, feel free to comment in my shack on Simtropolis. Thanks to Cataylst for creating such wonderful textures and having the idea in the first place and special thanks to Girafe for making the bike props especially for use with the T21s. Additional thanks to Rivit for the tools required to create the TGN variants and TPB for allowing me to use his updated Euro Roundabout textures.
  8. I am having issues with the SAM roads for the first time since I started using them. When I drag the SAM3 PEG Dirt Road and SAM4 PEG Gravel Road onto each other, or when I drag the SAM3 road onto normal street, they extend far beyond what I want. The image below shows the original layout. I want to drag the dirt road onto the gravel roads where there are gaps and have it create the effect of the "T-crossing" to the far right. How I did that, by the way, I have no idea! But... when I drag the dirt roads the gravel road extends inwards on the right side, and extends past the T-crossing on the left side. If I demolish the right T-crossing and extend the dirt road on the right side the dirt road extends all the way down to the other dirt road. On the left side the street transforms just like in previous picture. This is where I start to swear. How do I stop the SAM roads from extending far beyond what I'm asking for? I don't want the gravel roads going into the more densely populated area.
  9. Is SAM v3 out of date?

Hey, I maintain a short list of what I believe I are the "essential" mods and whatnot, and I was planning to update that, although I had listed the SAM mod above. Isn't that link above out of date though? I seem to remember it was incorporated into the NAM and possibly received updates since then.

  11. SAM bug?

I promise I've searched the forums and readme for this issue, but I'm also new... please forgive me if this has been addressed. I download/installed NAM pre-release 32. I've had no issues and the files are awesome. I attempted my first use of the SAM add-on by making a 2-lane road with a center left turn lane. After placing the starting piece, and dragging the road network to extend it, I noticed about every four to five tiles a graphic bug. I've done everything I can think of to solve it. I then tried using a 4-lane road and received the same result. Any suggestions? Or is this part of the NAM being "pre-release" and this issue will be resolved with the final product?
  12. Introducing NAM Hotfix Package Current Version: 301 (for NAM Version 30), released 13 April 2012 Download Link In order to streamline the process of releasing bugfixes and other minor updates between releases, the NAM Team is now introducing the NAM Hotfix Package. The NAM Hotfix Package combines fixes for issues reported with the most recent version of the NAM and its periphery plugins (e.g. RHW, NWM, etc.), and compiles them cumulatively into one single, unified package. Through this package, we can now include Controller/RUL-related fixes that we formerly had considerable difficulty distributing between releases. The Hotfix Package effectively replaces the confusingly named "NAM Essentials" package. The first NAM Hotfix Package release for NAM Version 30, Hotfix Package 301, is now available, and can be picked up here. Both a Windows installer and all the files necessary for a manual install (e.g. for MacOS users) are contained within the package. It may beinstalled directly over top of your existing NAM installation. It contains the following fixes/features: Updates NAM Controller to Version r139 (April 13, 2012). Arrows on preview model for OneWayRoad Viaduct Orthogonal-Diagonal Transition have been corrected. Road-ending-in-Tram-ON-Road T-Intersection piece now plops the correct direction. ERHW-over-RHW diagonal pieces that previously did not properly plop now function properly. Preview models for RealHighway RHW-6S-to-4 Type B and C Cosmetic Transitions are now properly aligned. Preview model for RHW-6S Type E1 Entrance Ramp (Exit Ramp in LHD) is now properly aligned. RHW Narrow Exit Lane Overplop for RHW-4 Type A1 Wide Ramp has been disabled. (It will not function correctly.) All previously issued path fixes for RealHighway (RHW) Version 5.0 (RHW-3 Dual Type A1 Ramp). Updates to Road, OneWayRoad and Avenue Viaduct-over-GHSR models are included. LHD path fixes, including for the Avenue Roundabouts, revamped Diagonal Maxis Highway over Diagonal Avenue interchanges, and numerous URail, Tram-in-Road, and Tram-on-Street pieces. All previously issued path and texture fixes for Network Widening Mod (NWM) Version 2.0. Dependencies Network Addon Mod Version 30 (Windows | MacOS) (Optional) Most recent versions of HSRP, NWM, RHW and SAM (needed for HSRP, NWM, RHW and SAM fixes, respectively). Installation and Other Frequently Asked Questions This NAM Hotfix Package is intended to be installed directly over your existing NAM installation. The Hotfix is not a Core release. It only contains the files necessary to fix all that is noted in the above feature list. Do not uninstall your existing NAM version when installing a Hotfix Package. More specific instructions on installation may be found on the description page for the download, and in the Readme. The NAM Core itself will generally not be updated in the wake of Hotfix Package releases (the current NAM Version 30 upload does not include the Hotfix already applied. The purpose of the Hotfix Package is to allow us to be able to issue fixes without having to update the Core and distribute them in a more unified manner than easily-lost forum attachments spread all over the place. -The NAM Team
  13. Hi, When I am plopping the 45° street curve puzzle piece from the NAM (those behind the FAR road pieces) they don't match the connecting streets I made with the SAM. They just stay the default grey in stead of changing to the SAM texture I'm using (bricks). The 45° street helper pieces work fine though, it's only the puzzle pieces that don't follow. Is this normal behavior for the current NAM and SAM development or did I goof up somewhere? Maybe I'm missing a dat file or something. Already tried re-installing both NAM and SAM (latest versions) but to no success. regards, Frolius666 PS: Haven't played in about 5 years, started again a few days ago... sooo much has changed, amazing stuff has been created... big thanks to all those developers out there!! I'm loosing sleep but I don't care no more :-)
  14. i'm zoning a high wealth zone and want to use the cobblestones from SAM to give it a better look but no matter what i try once i use SAM it cancels out the trees. i've gone through the readme's and it doesn't appear that JRJ's streetside mod is compatible w/SAM, is there a newer version of SAM that will work with JRJ Streetside Mod b/c its pretty awesome and gives my cities nice trees and i don't want to uninstall all the dependencies for JRJ to put another streetside mod in that is compatible. and the others don't look that great in my opinion. if there is no fix then i'll have to use the standard roads.
