Sorry if this has been asked before, but I was reading the amazing post on the hidden superpowers of the vanilla bus stop the other day, and it had me wondering; are there are any "bus station" or "terminal" lots, as opposed to ones that cosmetically look like a "stop"?

I don't really care about stats, I'm just looking for something bigger than 1x1 in size. I guess, kinda like how SimCity 2000 bus stations worked? 4x4 or the like, or even larger.

I've released something that might help you. It's not 4x4, but probably of use to you.

Could you link this?  I can't seem to find it and am always interested in aspects of the game I might not know.

Looking for old style commercial or military propeller aircraft on a ploppable park or landmark lot.   Is there anything like that out there?

Okay, so checking Matt's Natura Apartments file here shows you need these three dependencies in order for everything to show up properly. Note they are on SC4Devotion, so you will need an account on that site:

*Mattb325 BAT Props Vol04: (https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=3672)
*BSC MEGA Props - CP Vol01.dat (https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1180)
*BSC Texture Pack - Cycledogg V01.dat (https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=101)

Download them into your plugins folder and let us know if it doesn't work.

@Ssaidd do you have either the DN (Darknite) or MN (maxis night models for this building in your plugins.
It is named Mattb325_Natura_Apartments-0x5ad0e817_0xc90702b8_0x30000.SC4Model.

Best would be if you redownload either the DN and/or MN version of the upload and replace the same files in your plugins with the freshly redownloaded ones. It seem you are missing the main model file for the building.

Thanks for the mention.  That was one of my early posts here on ST, shortly after I installed the NAM for the first time.

Here's one of my favourite Bus Stops, which is included as part of the NAM.

It's actually designed to be used adjacent to an L2 Elevated highway, either MHW or RHW (with a wee little bit of overlap), but I like them so much I just use them anywhere.  Click on an image and arrow about to zoom in and see!  *:kitty:

The Elevated Road Bus Stop and Subway Station doesn't display a full bus interchange, but my imagination supplies the missing details.  Certainly it's more evocative than the vanilla Bus Stop.  :ooh:

Yes, I believe you're thinking of our project thread here:

You can use a work-around to make a street neighbour connection (the game sees the connection as road), which can be overridden to any SAM connection. Shown here in one of my YouTube tutorials.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

Would I? Just tell me where to sign!

A town I just finished has lots of outgoing herringbone streets that lead to nowhere. If this helps to make these connections, I'd like to try it.

What it allows is to make the connection with a road and then cover that with an overhanging lot to make it look like it's all SAM. *;)

Hehe, I found another workaround.

I discovered that a connection can be made by first dragging a road to the city limits, then destroying it, safe for just the one single road tile. Then, dragging the street up to the road tile that's left. Here's how it looks like!

I'm looking for a specific type of security fence. I currently have these two types from Pegasus:

PEG Security Fencing Kit - PLEX (Main Files) - Simtropolisimage.jpeg.3d25ea525bf3c91bf3e99fd27e0f9afb.jpeg

I prefer the style from the second picture with the curled barbed wire. Unfortunately, I also need security fencing that can be placed diagonally. Obviously the first design has diagonal pieces, but as far as I've been able to find the second design does not.

Is anyone aware of security fencing that looks similar to the second design but with diagonal pieces?

I suppose alternatively (and this probably merits a separate thread), I'm wondering if there's a way to create 45 degree versions of existing props.

Thanks again.

EDIT: To clarify, the first set of fences come from here, and the second set of fences can be picked up in this thread.

For this question, sadly the answere is no. If one has access to the original gmax, 3ds, max files and some belonging additional textures then with a compatibly tool it would be possible. Though these files mostly were not publicly released (apart from a few exception) by their original creators. They did one version what they needed for and then that's it.

I wish if the original gmax files were released for many of these creations (not just fences), but most of the creators are rather protectionist regarding their creations so getting alternative versions is mostly based on upon requests towards the original creators, but that's mostly impossible when we are talking about creators who left the community seemingly for good more than a decade ago.

In the case of the above example, the later PEG Chainlink Security Fence kit was meant to replace (generally, not technically) the older security fences (your second link), I suppose. There might be alternatives, not exact matching, but there are security fences in the Jestarr prop packs (specially in the first one), Jeronij created chainlink fences as well, which has diagonal pieces. I don't recall if @Simmer2 was about to create similiar fences in HD, but he has a great variety of concrete industrial walls and fences, some has diagonal parts, but mostly they are only orthos...

Ah, no worries. I had already done a fair bit of hunting prior to this, so I figured it was a long shot. I'm fine with the newer PEG security fences anyway. The main reason I was trying to avoid them was because the straight barb wire disappears from certain viewing angles. Which, as far as worst case scenarios go, is hardly the end of the world.

I appreciate the extensive background. This is all good to know and will save me some trouble in the future.

FYI, various highway sound barrier sets have diagonal sections. They're more or less fences, and come in various styles. I usually mix them in with chain link sets, as I often see mixed fencing on businesses irl!

I join city tiles in ps, so that little bit of road gives me a stop brake, so I don't overlap too far.
