Created some new stage 1 rural industrials intended for use with the Chicago tileset and took a quick first run at an older, rickety coal station. Note that everything here except the power station is grown naturally, i.e. no plopped buildings or forced zoning.

Not sure how much I like the one lot with the barn --  the roof stands out a bit much and looks a little too clean. The coal station was whipped together without much research, so there's a good chance that will need to be relotted. I'm not sure if I'll stick with the Simmer2 building or go with something slightly less dilapidated. It's a nice alternative to the Maxis station in the meantime, though.

The Maxis fans work by having two versions of the model -- one with fans, one without. The buildings/props are timed so that the model with the fans appears at certain times of day (or maybe certain times of year?). At other times, the empty model appears. You will probably need to do the same thing for your building, i.e., create two versions and combine them into a timed building/prop.

Wow, that train is insane @Simmer2, I think @SIM-ple Jack will explode when he sees it!  Any thoughts on making Snowpiercer, 1001 cars long?  You'd only need 4 large city tiles to fit it all in

You will have to adjust the LODs to sort of 'form-fit' around the bleachers/roof/etc if you wish to add props.. Right now, I am guessing, the LOD is just a huge box around the entire model which is why props will disappear. Maybe post your question to the BAT Getting Started Guide page by jasoncw and you can get assistance from more experienced BATters.

Working on a project with a new friend, @RobertaME. She is in the middle of overhauling the power plants and electrical grid system. She is quote "writing LUA scripts to more fully integrate them into the game... (advisor comments, technology development chains, building requirements, etc.) and... set things up so that not only were over 40 different power plants available, but they were well balanced compared to one another and were all fully integrated into a (semi) realistic power grid!"

Come check out all the fun we are having. 

So my part is easy, creating lots and reloting a few others. While she dose all the hard work writing LUA code. Below is a set of four substations by @homefryes that I have reloted. I am fixing them up for the new mod she is working on. One has a missing a ground texture and you get the water bug effect. The models are awesome but the props back then where very pixelated. I am using Simmer2's quality props to make the substation scene come to life. ( I hope) Once released, they will override the original lot and will also be used for the new electrical mod. Many other new lots and relots are to follow. 

Still WIP, but pretty much got the layout down. Comments and suggestions are welcomed.

Thanks @BartonThinks @WannGLondon @Jasoncw  @Kloudkicker for guiding me in the right direction on my LOD issue.  Luckily there is a good Youtube tutorial by @Gn_leugim.  The fans are in the stands - Go LLAMAS!

Great Idea, I might get on that at some point! Maybe you can use two of my gardeners in the meantime; I have one with a chain saw and one with a trimmer. Maybe post a picture of how you envision them!
