Here I try to explain why that error happens.

I posted a method to fix it a few weeks ago but it might be a bit complex.

A slightly simpler way to do it would be

1. Download this plugin (Yes, you need photoshop but if you don't have it then use the old method that I expose in the post - Assuming you still keep the outputfiles -).

2. Open reader and find the "damaged" FSH and save it

Drag the fsh file to Photoshop

Follow step 3 of the old method

4. Click "save as" (If you get an error, try again and the save window will appear.) and select 32-bit ARGB etc and deselect the other options, please don't try to save it any other way because your fsh will be damaged

5. Open reader, insert the fsh, delete the old one, reindex, save and close.

wow never thought the method I use to re-skin automatas could be applied to change corrupted fhs in BAT's props o whatever. Thanks :ooh:

Can some of the experianced lot creators tell my why I do not quite like this yet:

Preview_wip.jpg.3c06eb0e21e443eefbc94a8e49151ddb.jpg

What is missing?

Yo, guy --

Germany -- or Denmark ?

The building looks a little too "clean" for me.  You need to put a slightly darker texture and maybe some rust on it.  The colors just stand out too brightly.

A bit more "roof junk" might help.

Some vehicle traffic in the yard would make it less "frozen".

Maybe some barrels and crates scattered around the yard.

And Sims!  You need workers and cranes loading trucks -- etc, etc.

But -- I don't want to be a bore......

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

The cuckoo clock !

Are there prop packs with actual workers? in some real offshore or PPE clothing...

I hear you regarding the junk in the yard and the traffic, that makes everything more lively. In these giant yards however there is not too much little stuff happening too often...

And the textures, yeah, that is another topic :D I am so bad at this still, to have them seemless but dirty, also more dirty in the corners of the building, quite tricky...

To my understanding that means I have to brerak up the wall into multiple areas to texture them differently and then make the overlapping texture components align. I wouldn't mind taking a texturing course from someone who rocks at that ;)

Great work everyone.

After finishing off a set of security fences that I showed off before, and newly confident from the things that I've been taught by being a member here, I thought i would have a go at using @Girafe's hedges to make a set of fillers for rural (and suburban) environments. I made a straight and a corner, and had a look at them. I grouped the hedge props quite tightly, because I thought it would be nice if these could fit in quite sloped circumstances and to my surprise and delight, they do seem to be quite slope tolerant...

I figured I'd try to create them with the seasonal props and crossed my fingers that they would change to a summer version at the appropriate moment. Once again...

I was hopeful that they would still allow MMP's to be plopped close to the hedge, to give a chance of creating that dense, overgrown look...

Since I appear to be very lucky today in sheer chance as well as having access to such great advice at Simtropolis! :)

Any chance we may find those at an Exchange near us ? *;)

That's Gobias' Berner Overland HD terrain mod, which, IIRC, is available on the LEX.

There isn't a lot to upload right now, just a straight and a corner! I'm thinking of a combined fence / hedge and ideally a more overgrown version with some small trees and shurubs mixed in, but this requires prop families and stuff that's beyond me for now.

If you'd like to use them as is, i'll attach them to a post in my lotting thread here:

I think your work is really interesting but the texture issue is a steep learning curve for you becauase the scale is so big! Little buildings are probably more forgiving. I can't offer any constructive advice other than saying that i'm convinced you'll crack it *:thumb:

QUESTION -- Is that a 1x1 -- 2x2 ???  I hope the circular base covers -- at least -- a 1x1.

As I did not really find props with sim workers to add some live to our work places, I am trying to make a few factory construction and harbor workers for us. Since I already have the model of the little guys, I am open to suggestions of clothing and tools, if anyone is interested in something specific. (I am going to publish them within the next few days)

Workers_Preview_1_res.png.1022dd72411db128237a403ff38475fc.png

I have left to right (front row):

  • 2 Harbor workers carrying
  • Harbor worker screwing with toolbox
  • Foreman reading plan
  • Harbor worker sweeping with bucket
  • Harbor worker grinding
  • Harbor worker lifting
  • Harbor worker standing

back row (left to right):

  • construction worker surveying
  • construction worker sledge hammer
  • construction worker standing

Since the models are so small, they are kinda pixeled even in HD export and details are hardly showing, you know how it is...

Kinda reminds me of the model ppl for the miniature trains (Revell/NOCH H0, for those who can relate ;)

s-l300.jpg

In good old manner: 4 models taking a break, one ginving orders, one working :D

Yeah, I spent a small fortune on HO Scale model railroading.  But that was a long time ago --

Since then......I have spent TWO small fortunes on 1-100 scale battleships !! *:kitty:

I've thought about getting into N-scale... seems like you can get some interesting layouts at a bargain cost in space.

Yeah -- I ran out of room for the display, and shortly thereafter stumbled across some very detailed 1-100 scale warships.  Soon after that expensive investment, I came across 1-2400 scale dreadnoughts and have been busy collecting and painting the entire Hochsee Fleet and Grand Fleet from WW I.  I even got into miniature naval gaming.  But lately, like you, SC4 has managed to take up the slack between new warship pieces.  *;)
