@Edvarz: Definitely gonna try to work in a tropical version for all of the Puerto Vallarta buildings. Part of my inspiration to work on these was after scouting the city itself on Google Maps. Now if only there were gigantic swimming pool props to complement them...

I work for a trucking company. To make it more realistic @kingofsimcity does need to add signs everywhere saying 'No Parking, Max Penalty 1 million simoleons'. yes, 'no parking' signs on a parking lot

Hello everyone.

I'm now in the process of finalizing other projects. The next big release is going to be the container project, which will include an intermodal starter kit yard.

What is the clearance height for the double stacked swapbodies in game?

IRL a 40ft high cube container is around 2.6M high so double stacked over 5M. I guess my question is will a 7.5M (in sc4 terms) overpass allow 2 high containers to be stacked on a train to pass under as i know there is a differential between sc4 'height' and real life.

Also it is true that in the UK at least, hardly any road over rail overpasses are tall enough to allow double stacking of containers on rail, so this is no complaint, more just wondering.

@MissVanleider 2.38m to be exact. so 2 stacked containers plus the height of the low wagon will be around 5.3 meters. I don't know the current underpasses specs for SC4, however these containers and TTX train cars I made are only for lotting purpose. I doubt they will ever be made into automata. If anyone wants to make them into automata then they will have to cross that bridge once ready....pun intended

I hope that explains it.

The only thing I didn't love about "LA" was that it was mostly concrete, steel, and asphalt.  It was a soul killer.

I've been busy in the past few days deciding which water textures to use and such. It was time to change the water texture to something alot nicer. Gobias's Bodensee looks quite nice and it fits the darker cities quite well compared to the flashy blue I used before. Also I finally got rid of the white Maxis sidewalks and changed them to Central Park HD textures, which are also made by Gobias. And they do look fantastic. Finally the shore got some well deserved attention.

The standard Maxis Tunnel Portal is

so on a low-loader it * * might * * fit through here. But as train automata interact with the tunnel as if it were made of dark matter anyway the game will happily compress the freight while passing through the tunnel. Underpasses are way taller than this and hardly represent a hazard by comparison...

It's been close to a year since I actually opened the game.  I had a little time tonight, so I clicked on the program and... *blurp* error, bla bla bla.  Well, I guess windows must have updated since the last time I played SC4.  I did the quick and dirty work around last time, but tonight I figured I'd dust off the digital copy I had purchased on sale from Amazon and give it a whirl.  Long story short - worked like a charm   
Damn you SC4... I can't quit you.

Mayon Province Second largest town "Hartford" on it´s way !

Some ages ago I gave a glimps of the Hartford Spider web. Mayon Province develope has been on it´s back ever since. ANNO Europe series is well established and will continue with Bern for another episode soon. From may till september Mayon will be back with Hartford City and beyond !

Here some pictures of the area and the mentioned spider web !

First contour´s of the city center, on the left part of the spider web, on the right the main railwaystation area !

Most mayor infrastructure is in place !

The riverside harbour is situated on a diagonal shaped coastline.  Large container ferry´s will so have their ideal dockingside !

All in One solution for all mayor highway traffic corridor´s out of Hartford to the west and north, Maybe not totaly perfect but..!

Yo, guys --

This time -- we have what used to be the Coburg Hills.  The earth movers got busy -- flattened some stuff here -- pushed some stuff together over there -- and now we have a single hill mass.  The Camden Office Group partnered with the city to develop a nice little business district north of the financial center that turned out to be the ideal location for the new major league stadium the team owners wanted.

 

 

This is a nice little arrangement for the stadium using park paths, filler parking lots, and a food court at the main entrance.  If you look closely, you'll see the home team has taken to the field!

 

 

This is the Camden Office Park.  They would have preferred to be in the heart of the financial district, but since space was at a premium, they opted for the Coburg Hill site.  Besides, it's just across the road from the ball park -- and it's not too hard to find an excuse to leave the office -- "on business" (lol).  Again -- filler parking lots, park paths, and I did a re-lot on the office towers to make them look better.  I also changed them to CO $$ to better suit my RCI demands.

 

 

And last, but not least -- the recently built Capella Tower.  I squeezed it in west of the office park to take advantage of a spur in the hill mass, and also changed it to CO $$.  I've used up all my CS $$$ and CO $$$ on the RCI graph, so this is a good way to raise the average income of the residents.

@Simmer2 judging these things from pictures depends on many factors like the brightess of monitor or the post-processing of the picture, so this can only be a report of what I notice. To me, when I look at the container stack from distance without focussing on the details (your props are always so detailled!) it seems to me the blue ones are popping out. The contrast of the whiter parts and  the darker parts seems too strong to me and the saturation maybe too much. So they seem much different in colour from the others (who seem all perfect in color to me), it's only the blue standing out and in my opinion could be in a much more pale also less violet blue and some touch of turqoise.

 

 

If I compare this photo with the color of the 'like it' button and your picture with the colour of it - the violet touch (at least on my monitor) is noticeable?

Bazel will be some of the little towns covered in this the ANNO Europe series !

Take a ride, probably will take some time and effort before Bernies will like this new way to go around !

Long stretch to Fribourg South I haved added a extra exit Fribourg North !

Fribourg nice town halfway to the Lake of Geneva !

South of this exit starts the roads into the direction of Zweisimmen, Montreux and Luzern !

So much RHW stuff ? RHW isn´t the mayor object of ANNO Europa series. Some maps with smaller cities will have the room for some RHW work. Modern European up to today highway´s won´t be around, focus is on a mix of semi highways like int the 60´s era !

Long time not playing, in fact, this mosaic was captured today but has no changes since last month:

There's a lot of work to do around it: the big roundabout was recently stretched following the widening of the main avenue, there is a lot to zone and plop on the city centre (on the right), and much more to do on the railyards; this last thing is being put in pause until the RRW customisable reskin gets released, because it will imply a lot of MMPing, and I want to get the right colouring.

BTW, if somebody knows of an alternative to that RHW-2 brigde, please tell me, the fact the pylons doesn't align pest me a bit, and looks very dangerous for the ferries (yes, the entire point of having so high terrain alongside the water is to allow ferries to go farther inland.

Some actual IRM ploppable fillers. Finally got around to adding families for the trucks - 5% chance of not getting one to appear, which is admittedly a bit low at the moment. Hoping to throw in the 40ft trailers into the mix too for some extra variety.
