Bern RHW Interchange !

Europa ANNO is quit one large city in all. RHW doesn´t have a mayor roll, less connecting cities most not to talk about a real network. Bern, Budapest,Frankfurt, Vienna and Zurich do have some part in the future. Nevertheless inner citie connection might ultimately result into a conversion into avenue´s orNwm´s !

Here some mayor interchange in Bern !

BR%2009_zpsg4carytn.jpg

Space is a compromize so no nice flowing curves, these are 80 km/ph maximum roads !BR%2010_zpsigccddvi.jpg

Acceleration lane wasn´t  there in the first version; second version got one below the single one way viaduct. Above this lane a RHW slope with a FAR ramp wich in a great effort got connected. RHW work perhaps won´t ever be my speciality still i<m satisfied it´s done !

Beyond to the right there´s a tunnel and a FAR merge ramp on his way into the direction of Fribourg !

BR%2011_zpswqsqoc5s.jpg

p.s. Fantozzi sugested turning of the wave water effect, quit nice as maybe this will return in cities like Copenhagen or St Petersburg !

Enjoy it !

@EvansRE4

Yo, guy -- Benton huh ?

Ever hear of a hole in the wall named Malvern ?"

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

The cuckoo clock !

(Harry Lime to Holly Martins...Graham Greene's THE THIRD MAN...1949)

Let's talk about the RHW: Your transition is a beast! I really loved it. but I have some tips about your avenue viaducts. You really should use a embankment of 7.5m. The transition between the surface and old 15m elevated viaducts are just too tall to work well in RL. You have an other option: underpass it. It works very well with RHW too.

I hope there is still space for me to squeeze it into my current city by the time it is released @Simmer2! i think i might 'borrow' the rusty shed and diagonal powerline props too... :ninja:

Gritty industrial area could use both, added picture of my first ever tram which randomly drove through as i was building, a nice surprise!

OMG, what a neat image! you're doing very well with that Tram thing.

@MissVanleider SM2 Heritage Roundhouse is now online. I'm already working on a smaller lot size as promised. I will release it as a separate upload.

Thank you

@EvansRE4 find the avenue ramp flup and add it on each side of the rhw. The pieces that go under the rhw are in the button for ROAD x RHW menu button.

A bit more detail is here:

My first mosaic. This is from the historical centre:

By the way...

If yellow is an existing subway system and orange are the stations that it will be integrating, what do you think about GLR in that red way?

A functional pedestrianised city centre! I like it a lot!!

About the GLR: I think it depends mainly on where both lines go; if they serve the same route on the overall city and have most stations in common, it would be adviceable to get rid of one of them. Otherwise, if they just go together on this short span, or they share a route but have different, alternated stations, it would be very useful to keep both.

Pretty latino, huh?

This is the line 1 of my subway. (Yeah, I act like this is a real thing) it goes to the south zone of the city from the end of the CBD, next to the Portlands. This is something very consolidated and I don't think that I'll change it from now. The GLR line would go straight, so they'll split in the end of that image. By the other hand, I Think that Avenida dos Bandeirantes needs more subway stations (the begin of the proposed GLR, the parking lot, is the only one that the avenue and all this big skyscrapers has.) And having a GLR runing so close to it would defeat the purpose.

@kingofsimcity: YES! Way to squeeze more use out of @Diego Del Llano's superb BATs now that the bases are no longer modeled. *:thumb: Where is that swimming pool even from? It's the perfect match for those buildings, just like... well, pretty much everything else. You have a great eye for props that go well together.

IMO you could extend the wall a bit further to cover that narrow strip of grass at the parking entrance/exit (I see ruthless SimDrivers taking shortcuts!) or at least add a low hedge or some shrubs there, and that grass patch in the middle might be a spot for some playground stuff, but both of these suggestions are merely further ideas to ponder and no shortcomings of the lot, which works fine the way it is. Great stuff! I hope Diego sees this. I feel a bit bad - I kept pestering him about those BATted grounds, but so far I haven't had time to show what can be done without. So I guess I should thank you for stepping in, too. *;)

@Dreadnought: I noticed you put up that baseball field such that the balls will be driven towards the school building with all its windows - that should do for some motivation to the batters! *:kitty:

I don't know if it is a thing on Mexico too, but at least here in Chile, condos usually are surrounded by tall fences with shrubbery, and the access is always controlled (here mainly for paranoia, in other places is justified).

As the lotting is keeping this slight Latin American vibe, I guess it would be a tad more authentic to replicate those kinds of detail

Experimenting with some of @Diego Del Llano's new residential BATs...

Nice! as @T Wrecks says, the props you are using go really well with the building model (Oh, BTW the pool and the fence props are LBT, I'd recognize them everywhere) If you're planning to release it, maybe you could do a version with tropical flora? Since the original building is from a city with a tropical climate, I think it would fit.

Yep, that's also a thing here, especially with these super luxury resorts. And it's just as paranoid. Some complexes control the access at the building's entrance itself (I guess), but I'm thinking IRL the people inhabiting the condos wouldn't feel 'safe' without completely isolating their pool and their nice cars.

@Simmer2 It is wonderful! thank you! I spent some of the weekend connecting all the visual stubs of rail on the full version (which I managed to find room for after extensive rebuilding) but this is amazing! It will be much easier to place in areas like seaports etc. Which means we'll all get to plop it more often, and that has to be a good thing! *:thumb:
