xcrunnerbjf replied to Cyclone Boom's topic in Simtropolis Related
Thank the llamas this is wonderful news! Though, like many of us, I don't know @CorinaMarie outside her amazing work, I am forever glad to see that she is alive, on the recovery, and getting herself straight in life and everything. I look forward to your much anticipated return but ONLY when you are ready, willing, and able. Until then, best wishes, and may you have a speedy and easy recovery.- 184 Replies

@Ssaidd The Metroliners are old BRF works. https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/3370-brf-amtrak-metrolineramfleet-elsubpassenger-set-part-1/ https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/3371-brf-amtrak-metrolineramfleet-elsubpassenger-set-part-2/ I'm also positive the there are VDK ( @vester_DK ) locomotive and car sets that have both the P32/40/42 locos and MTA-style cars over on the LEX, but also here's a favorite standalone of mine https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/16460-new-haven-p42/ Others: https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/16446-p42-dc-prop/, https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/16440-amtrak-ge-p42dc/

IIRC, there are already P32/40/42s locos and Metroliner cars in the STEX which are close to the older cars. Gotta get the M8 (top image) and M9 (bottom image) in there as well though

Emerson Bromo-Seltzer Tower, Baltimore, MD Clockface close-up: https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cityscape-photo.com%2Fblog%2F2017%2F6%2F7%2Fbaltimore-bromo-seltzer-tower&psig=AOvVaw2VcYhVDlLfp6kMHWex3Ujj&ust=1626903128937000&source=images&cd=vfe&ved=0CAoQjRxqFwoTCKichM7M8vECFQAAAAAdAAAAABAk Tower with Bormo-Seltzer bottle on top of tower: https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.pinterest.com%2Fpin%2F11259067792898176%2F&psig=AOvVaw2VcYhVDlLfp6kMHWex3Ujj&ust=1626903128937000&source=images&cd=vfe&ved=0CAoQjRxqFwoTCKichM7M8vECFQAAAAAdAAAAABAy Description: Once the tallest building in Baltimore City and all of Maryland, the Emerson Bromo-Seltzer Tower was a clock tower erected in downtown Baltimore to commemorate Isaac Edward Emerson, the creator of Bromo-Seltzer antacid/headache relief drug and owner of the nearby/surrounding Emerson Drug Company. The tower is 15 storys tall with four clock faces, each spelling B-R-O-M-O (hours 10-2) S-E-L-T-Z-E-R (hours 9-3) and lit up at night (see photo link above). The tower is also notable for its castle-like top as part of its overall Renaissance Revival architectural style. Until 1936, the tower was topped by an illuminated Bromo-Seltzer bottle which could be seen from at least 20 miles away (see third photo link). It was removed, however due to structural stability issues. Today, the tower is home to the Baltimore Office of Promotion and the Arts and houses art and performance spaces. It was added to the NRHP in 1973. Links to informational websites (reccommended). Links to wikipedia, emporis.com, skyscraperpage.com, Local Live, Google Maps, and flickr.com are especially useful. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emerson_Bromo-Seltzer_Tower http://bromoseltzertower.com/about Why this would be beneficial for the game or community: (Bold) A beautiful clock tower from days past, the Bromo-Seltzer tower would look great around an old-town, former industrial zone, or even city hall area setting. Clock towers are great additions to a city landscape, showcasing its architecture, history, and notable people (often built for/by big city/influential names in the city/region)

Connecticut Science Center, Hartford, CT Description: A uniquely designed museum, located overlooking the banks of the Connecticut River in Hartford, CT, this is the flagship science museum of the region. Featuring mostly glass exterior and its signature angled windows and curved roof (both major features of the museums' logo) designed to mimic the river it overlooks, it is also one of only a few buildings world-wide to have all or most of its power generated by an in-house fuel cell. Located on the south side of downtown Hartford and abutting Constitution Plaza, it, along with the CT Convention Center and Front Street area were the cornerstone projects of the redevelopment of the city, particularly as part of the Adrianes Landing project at the turn of the millennium. I am hoping that this could be turned into a great museum to be added to our cities, more info as to why in the later section Links to informational websites: https://ctsciencecenter.org/about/history-and-mission/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Connecticut_Science_Center https://www.google.com/maps/place/Connecticut+Science+Center/@41.7691807,-72.667643,717a,35y,180h,39.26t/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x89e6537a35316245:0xd656353743990272!8m2!3d41.7646881!4d-72.6694469 https://www.google.com/maps/place/Connecticut+Science+Center/@41.7672197,-72.6779893,1604m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x89e6537a35316245:0xd656353743990272!8m2!3d41.7646881!4d-72.6694469 Why this would be beneficial for the game or community: I have noticed that there are not many museums that are of a "modern" or "unique" design, especially ones that fit on the original museum footprint of 2X3. While I think this could be a great addition at this size, I also think that it would be cool to be expanded and have plaza tiles around it as well making it a larger lot. I think that the unique design of this building, from its mostly glass exterior, to its uncommon shaped exteriors and roof would make it stand out as a showcase lot of a city's museum or entertainment district.
