  1. Inner City Mosaic

Sure! It's Kellydale2003's Kingston Developments LTD construction site and yes its a beautiful BAT hey!   Thanks, just getting into custom content myself, can't wait to start!     Heh - that's a dangerous rabbit hole to start down ;) I think I've got something like 1.5GB of custom content in SC4 now - and there are people posting CJs here that have WAY more!   @OP I'm loving the "dusk" shots ... I'm guessing Day and Nite mod with streetlight replacements :) Really nice "early evening" inner city feel there.
  2. Castellammare del Golfo

Wait ... what ... really? O_o   The awesome is strong with this one!
  3. Jacob Auto Parts

Cool - I was looking at my medium industral parks last night and thinking "meh - I'm sick of seeing the same 2 buildings all over the place, need more medium industrial buildings". I'll give this a go over the weekend.
  4. Northward to Canterbury

It's got ... everything! Great naturalistic MMP work around the marina, nice curving roads around the shoreline and a good use of walls throughout - through to a park and really well laid out urban areas. There aren't even any particularly overly steep roads as far as I can see (which is my normal bugbear).   Nice job :)
  5. Los Angeles [I Need Help!] 2/9/14

I just wish the ramps on roads and (especially) the railway -> elevated railway weren't so steep in SC4 kinda spoils things just a tiny amount ... that river though is still the highlight for me, most imaginitive use of grunge concrete and sunken highway walls I think I've seen!
  6. My SC4 CJ Scrapbook | Important update and news!

That indutrial areas is full on awesomesauce - but I've got to ask, which pavement/sidewalk mod are you using?
  7. TMW - Origins | Jeff 'Joker' Moreau #1

"... it's what we call a shake and bake colony"     What could possibly go wrong?
  8. Wild Country

Check out Xannepan's Poseidon Mods... :-)       heh - I think everybody's Google'd it - SC4D LEX has maxxed out it's available MySQL connections and gone offline :)
  9. Stone Creek

Heh - that's weird, I've done exactly the same thing with one of my highway bridges - right down to the sandstone paving (I'm also using that sandstone sidewalks mod)... the only difference is in the concrete supporting wall, I'm using something like one of these : https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=131
  10. E Leclerc

To be fair, when it comes to E Leclerc, Carrefour or Mammout, the hypermarts at least, the buildings tend to just be huge souless prefabs surrounded by carparks - you just swap the livery. You could drop them in the UK and slap a Tescos sign on and it would be just as valid :\
  11. My SC4 CJ Scrapbook | Important update and news!

Love the way the railway snakes around that pond! I may need to "borrow" that idea for some of my IND areas Paeng Grunge Industrial Alleys : There's road under them thar tiles
  12. Calora | Dearest Fieranti

Really - after that 3rd picture, not one "nights of Cydonia" comment? I R Disappoint.
  13. The gem of Adelaide, King George Stadium

If they've just overthrown the monarchy and become a republic ... why is the stadium called the King George stadium? Surely Liberty Stadium, Egality Stadium or Fraternity Stadium (to completely bawlderise the French Republic) would be more apt?   Team names ... hmmm Adelaide Penguins (as opposed to Adélie Penguins)?
  14. Evelstadt

Do you mean the Gherkin? https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=207
  15. McDonalds

Seriously... I'm the first person to comment with "I'm lovin' it"? Really?
  16. West Harkin Ghetto | How the other half lives

"You threw the basketball over the fence - YOU can go and ******* get it!"
  17. Wild and Wonderful: The Nature of Harar

For some reason I was half expecting the music to cross-fade into some kind of AggroTech or Industrial Metal and zoom into a Dirty Industry / Coal Powerplant, polluted hellhole halfway through ... there's probably something very wrong with my outlook on life, the universe and everything :)
  18. Open Spaces

Looks like it's all BSC parks, so you'd need the BSC parks pack and the accompanying walls add-on, which is here: https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=477   The Deadwoods dependecy list kind of annoys me though tbh :\     OT: that really is the mother of all green spaces... I swear it's bigger than some small towns I've made! O_o
  19. Update 7 (Part 2): Stark City - Downtown

Loving the marina - I bet those seawalls took an eternity to get right! :)
  20. A new player's impressions...

Map size is my main issue with it (well, I don't really like the slightly cartoony graphical style either but that's personal taste rather than anything else) but SC2013 does make some improvements over SC4; the city specialisations and trade most notably - and the road placement system (though that was basically lifted straight from CXL) and road-side bus stops... several little things. However, for just about everything else, a modded version of SC4 does it better (my plugins folder is probably about 2 GB now O_o) - build a custom region, plant your own flora and fauna, start with an agricultural community with streams and waterfalls. Run in a Highway (RHW), sink it, put restraining walls alongside and line with trees, have road intesections and rail bridges over it - spend hours trying to build the "perfect" interchange. So yeah, vanilla SC2013 might (apart from the city size) *might* be a better game than SC4 in most ways... once you've modded SC4 to within an inch of its life, SC2013 just feels ... unfinished. Aside: if SC4 crashes it's probably because it doesn't like multi-core CPUs, try creating a shortcut to the game with "-CPUCount:1" added to the end of the target path (or as a launch option if you bought it on Steam). If in doubt when playing, Ctrl + S to quick save ... often. HTH.
  21. SimCoug's Diagonal W2W Tenements

It does involve an absolute tonne of zone, wait, bulldoze, wait*, make historical but it's absolutely worth it IMO.     * repeat steps 2 and 3 as many times as required with the occasional demolish adjacent buildings and replace with grass or pedwalk as the diagonals overhang their lots and spread into adjacent lots. ;)
  22. County Durham & North Yorkshire

The problem is that it's really hard to get decent elevation data for the UK - OpenOS is your best bet, but then you need something to read that data to make a greyscale bitmap. Even then the results are less than satisfactory normally (I think OpenOS is 50m DEM data so everything gets "stepped").   I did the area just north of this a while ago (which I'm currently playing on), Tyne & Wear down to Durham, and to try and get it working nicely in SC4 I ended up spending a LOT of time in Photoshop with custom terrain brushes, softening, lessing contrast values, re-routing rivers slightly so that they don't go "odd" at city boundaries (that's the worst bit) ... only when I was happy with it, and had it in-game, did I realise that I should have blurred the coastline and river edges more as the drops are too steep and you can't drag pipes or subway through (and it's made creating the docks and Sunderland tricky, having to do a lot of raise/lower to get seawalls to work nicely)... so I've had to do some god-mode fine-tuning in game.
  23. 52. Hood's Hook

Best ... seaport .. ever!     I have such a hard time with seawalls :(
  24. Stone Creek

Snippety snip ... I'm not sure about the first one - if you want to link the RHW to the road overpass you might be better trying to extend the overpass slightly and add in a couple of M5 (I think they're called, the RHW slip roads) crossroad junctions on the overpass itself. That way you can just run an exit ramp off the highway, to an elevated M5 onramp to the overpass... and offramp to highway on the other side. You end up with slip roads running up to the overpass then, which works well. The second image however... yeah, that I like! I really need to add more wiggle to my own highways I think... I've just started a new region so we shall see
  25. 17. Urban Flâneur - Cyrus Harbour City Tour Part 01

Nice - but that's why I don't use the Birmingham Rotunda re-lot ... it's got that weird, half a red-brick buidling that sticks out of the front of it which you can see in the "Stores and Seaview Apartments" picture :\ That's my only niggle.
