  1. A greater variety of railway stations besides the one currently available. More compact ground-level and elevated platforms for downtown areas, as well as larger terminus and central stations that integrate metro and bus service. These would go a long way to creating a more realistic commuter rail system. One thing I actually enjoyed that SC13 has and Skylines was streetcars/trams. That would be a far more involving project to add in than mere train stations, but I thought I'd also put that out there.
  2. VDK Trains Inc.

This is amazing! I might be a little biased because I love classic North American passenger trains, but... this may well be the greatest train mod ever envisioned in the nearly eleven years of SC4. Keep up the good work!
  3. I can't believe no one has mentioned this yet:
  4. Tallest downloadable building for SC4

has a number of futuristic skyscrapers that are very tall; in particular, I'd call attention to the Coruscant tower sets, the Millenium Tower, and the Yarkozvezda Pyervaya.
  5. New UI - Time for a change!

That looks amazing! I definitely think there needs to be an overhaul for the game's UI; the JSPEC mod from 2011 (which I use) never made it past beta stage, and dobdriver never even released his, so I definitely look forward to your own mod.
  6. NAM: Requests - 2nd Edition

Hey, y'all. I apologize if this has been asked before, but would it be possible to make an on-slope rail to underground rail transition piece? If anyone has an answer, thanks in advance. I understand if there are technical or time limitations, and I can always use subway connectors; but I thought the idea deserved consideration.

This is a medieval-styled city I'm working on, inspired by Vannes in Brittany.
  8. Can't find it?... Ask here!

I've been working on a Breton/French themed region, and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for French styled or, general Western European styled, farms. Most of the farm mods I've seen are more suited to an American/Canadian setting.
  9. Circular cities in SimCity 4

A road layout like this would be perfect with the TerraDome. I'll have to try that out at some point.
  10. ATSF Super Chief

Wow, this is amazing! Well done, and thank you.

  12. OK, I found a solution: Raise the terrain with street tiles past where your corner wall is supposed to go, like you would do with a regular ortho wall. After that, plop the corner wall, bulldoze the street on the upper ground, and then plop street tiles below, one tile over.

I made a wall set of my own after following this thread, so I made this quick image demonstrating how they have to be placed. The walls are at the back of the lot and, as Magneto said, the lot foundation is at zero. Streets at the top and bottom keep the land from deforming when you place them, and you have the lot facing uphill. Otherwise, it will "indent" the terrain. I don't have the redbrick plaza lots (Skydrive said it was deleted), but I assume they work the same way.

    (please disregard)
  15. The "4A" part in the number, specifically; typing in "2A", keeping the zeroes intact, would (in theory) half the speed. Likewise, increasing it speeds the trains up, with it going as high as "9A". With tweaking like this, it's always a good idea to make a backup of the file, and use trial and error to see what sort of speed best suits you. This is pretty much the method I used to modify the file to begin with. However, please note that all trains in the game are effected by this value, and travel the same speed regardless of type. Just something to keep in mind in case you have high speed rail and streetcars in the same city.
