  1. Question about time

    Rush Hour.
  2. Stellaris

I've played it. While it is a good game, I've found that it, like many other space games, is a fairly shallow experience. I'd definitely be up for a multiplayer game sometime though. I only have the base game.
  3. Torre Canne Marina

My only complaint is that you might have overdone the filters a bit, especially on the daytime shots. Other than that, I like what I'm seeing.
  4. Night Lighting Patch. NAM will not install

https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?page=16 Found it by scrolling down a bit.
  5. That setting disables all advisor popups.
  6. I don't think that mod is very useful anyway; You can disable the advisor popups in the game settings. But if you'd rather use the mod, here you go:
  7. Type of City you like to build

I tend to build futuristic or semi-futuristic cities ranging from vast pincushions to smaller, more rural towns and various poorer settlements. Lately I've also been building significantly less dense cities. I've been told my cities tend to have a south-east Asian look to them, though that is for the most part unintentional, the only real exception being my choice of SAM style and various Japanese BATs I sometimes use. I do try not to restrict myself to one particular building style, but instead try to depict a future in which various cultures (and as a result, various building styles) have mixed to form what can probably be described as an absolute mess.
  8. Show us What you're Working On

That building is from the original SimGoober canal set, while the rest are from Callagrafx's version of it. The water is part of the model, and can't be edited easily.
  9. Desktop.. Everyone has one of these!

I used to do the same, until I decided to just get rid of my desktop icons completely.
  10. The future of "Chat"...

Yeah, that is a feature I'd miss too. Maybe we could ask the Discord devs to add Simtropolis integration?
  11. The future of "Chat"...

It has most of the same features as our current chat (and even some we don't currently have), but not the direct link to someone's profile. I might be completely misunderstanding you right now, but: You can use the browser app just fine without registration, it's only required if you want to download and use the completely optional desktop app.
  12. The future of "Chat"...

Registration is only really required if you want to use the desktop application though.
  13. The future of "Chat"...

Yeah, I feel that would be the best option (or one of them, at least). I could even volunteer to run it, if Dirk would rather invest his time elsewhere, I do have a lot of experience with Discord after all. Of course, this is all his (and probably the admins') choice.
  14. The future of "Chat"...

I still recommend Discord. You can have up to like a billion channels, so we could have a channel for everything, and there's even voice chat for those who are interested in that.
  15. The future of "Chat"...

Registration technically isn't required on Discord, though it is highly recommended to do so.
  16. The future of "Chat"...

I'd say set up a Simtropolis Discord server to replace the chat. It costs absolutely nothing, and is ridiculously easy to do. It's also possible to have a widget on the site showing online users.
  17. Desktop.. Everyone has one of these!

In most games you have to tab out anyway, unless they're running in windowed (or, in most modern games, borderless) mode.
  18. Wethy Towers

Great job. Great to see some new SimMars content. even if I won't be using it because I don't play SimMars maybe I'll try to make an Earth version at some point (for personal use, most likely)
  19. Desktop.. Everyone has one of these!

I can't stretch the game across multiple monitors; anything higher than 1920x1200 makes the game instantly CTD.
  20. Show us What you're Working On

Work in progress Nudle Maps-inspired map of an older region of mine:
  21. Desktop.. Everyone has one of these!

My home desktop (probably) hasn't changed much since the last time I posted here, but I might as well share the mess that is my work desktop.
  22. Odinheim Flip

From the album Dropbox replacement album

Intended to be posted in the Show us your upside-down cities thread, but was never posted there.

  23. Oh, huh, I haven't seen that before. Is it new?
  24. Games like Tropico

One alternative could be Urban Empire, but it doesn't have great reviews, so as it stands right now your best choice is indeed Tropico.
