With over 19 million inhabitants, Osaka is one of Asia's largest cities and most important economic centers. With plenty of iconic landmarks to visit, it's one of the country's most popular tourist destinations as well - so let's take a closer look at this amazing city.

We'll begin with a view of the iconic Tsutenkaku Tower. Since its opening in 1943, it's towered over the city's skyline and has become a symbol of pride for the people of Osaka.

The Gate Tower Building in central Osaka is one of the city's most unique sights. After a building permit was declined in 1983 with the ongoing construction of a new highway, the owners of the property came up with a unique solution - to design their new building with the highway running right through it.

The famous tourist destination of Dōtonbori in central Osaka comes to life at night and is well known for its shopping, nightlife, and restaurants.

The Umeda Sky Tower is one of Asia's most striking skyscrapers, consisting of two 40 story towers with a connecting skybridge.

The iconic Shitennō-ji temple was founded in 593 by prince Shotoku Taishi is widely regarded as the first Buddhist temple in Japan.

Osaka Castle*, not Osaka Temple

Great job at this one, as a person who has a deep connection to the city (the first city I ever explored in Japan; the city where I almost died during a typhoon; where most of Japanese friends live) I see a lot of similarities with this update to the real life city.

MegAAAAARGH. The mosaic. Everything, as usual (all those JPN buildings, so perfectly placed and fitting ! And the first temple picture looks like a photo !), but... the mosaic ! The composition,  the reflections in the water.. OOOOOH. [went back to oogle, but suddenly can't help wondering : where does the street go, at the bottom of the pic, the one before the last canal ? I assume it goes under it but, as much as I want to, I can't really see it ; is it a cul-de-sac, with cars just parked there ? But there seems to be a bus...]

I also have two big Where-To (find...) ? : The Gate Tower Building . And the Umeda Sky Tower ; there is (I have...) an Umeda Sky Building by Spiderblack, but that is not it at all !

@Tonraq Thanks for comment! Always nice to hear from someone who's been to the city that it resembles the real thing. Glad you enjoyed the update *:thumb:

Also, thanks for catching that typo. I'm guessing that doing the Shitenno-ji temple scene right before that one probably threw me off a bit there.. *:P

@tariely Thanks for the kind words, glad you enjoyed the update! *:)

I think the street you're referring to (the one to the right of the RDQ Aquarium) was supposed to just lead to small parking lot but I think it got covered up inadvertently in the end by a few overhanging park lots.

As for the two other buildings: the Gate Tower building was a 3d model I found online which I exported for use in the update, and the Umeda Sky Tower came from a small Japanese website although I'll have to do some digging around to find the exact link.

Really nice update! Nice images.

But I got confused on your second image. So that's clear that you modified that building and created a tunnel in the middle of it for the FlexFly... but that L1 RHW-3 (I see a break there of course) under the DDRHW-4 then RHW-4 on the top of a NRD-4 is quite question mark for me. I mean how? This is actually a really interesting concept, I saw similiar set-ups in RL...

Anyway really nice images!
