Hmm! A new update is fitting for the entire status of the city sim genera, with Cities Skylines taking the cake. The new style reminds me of Windows 8 Metro style, except that the new style used on Simtropolis doesn't suck.

All your friends are gone! Sorta. Previously, we had the Friends system. That has now been replaced by Followers. Your old Friends list is now gone, so you’ll have to re-friend your buddies. You do that by visiting their profile and Following them. You’ll get a notification whenever they post stuff.

I was getting worried for a little while. That was a long wait. I'm glad to see this site back up and running. Of course my first reaction was missing the home page with the news andfeatures of CJs and STEX items. Then I read the first post by Dirk and felt better. This site have a history of having heavier load times on my end compared to other sites I visit. I hope as things improve, the load times will improve also.

It's great to be back!

Sure, like anything new, it'll take some time to get familiar. But so far I like the new look. It's certainly more mobile friendly, and it's overall very sleek & professional. From what I've seen, most of the forum's core features are still there, just have been renamed or modified slightly.

There's the odd issue here and there (nothing too major), and I'm sure these can be ironed out over time. Best to give it a few days to properly settle down.

It is always difficult to get used to something new. I'm sure as soon as the CJ section is back there will be dozens of things that we do not like... but it happens all the time. I'm sure the overall change will be positive.

 

Already wondering how the CJ section is going to look like! Good work, team!

I haven't really had much time to explore the new design a whole lot, but overall I think it looks pretty nice and clean. The site was starting to look a tad dated compared to a lot of other webpages and forums out there.

Recently, I have been receiving several emails from Simtropolis, and it's usually the forum topics that I follow; when I am at the notification settings, I see that I could not toggle it to turn off. Before the site was upgraded, I only get notifications on the notification tab and not through my email. A screen is below:

Funny, my avatar just happened to be perfectly suited to the new round theme.  Although, I still prefer it squared.

My signature seems to have gone berserk, and I don't believe I have a means of editing it yet?

Looks like signatures have now been enabled. They can be accessed from this page in your account settings.
It seems HTML is also supported in the 'Source' view.

P.S. By the way, did you receive a notification for this post? I believe posting @Username now notifies that user (and can be toggled in the notification settings).

Just checking out the new layout.  Reminds me of a new pair of shoes - they look real sharp, but don't feel quite as comfortable as the old ones.  I'll have to spend a little time walking around in here to break these in.

I noticed it also creates a link to the user's profile, figured it out in the 10,000 post thread in forum games.
